Esther 10

1 And the King Ahashuerosh layd a tribute vpon the land, and vpon the yles of the sea.

Der König Ahasveros legte dann dem Festlande und den Inseln des Meeres eine Abgabe auf.

2 And all the actes of his power, and of his might, and the declaration of the dignitie of Mordecai, wherwith the King magnified him, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia?

Und alle Erweise seines gewaltigen und machtvollen Wirkens und die genaue Schilderung der hohen Stellung Mardochais, zu der ihn der König erhob, das alles findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der medischen und persischen Könige.

3 For Mordecai the Iewe was the second vnto King Ahashuerosh, and great among the Iewes, and accepted among the multitude of his brethren, who procured the wealth of his people, and spake peaceably to all his seede.

Denn der Jude Mardochai war der Erste im Range nach dem König Ahasveros und hochgeachtet bei den Juden und beliebt bei der Menge seiner Volksgenossen, weil er das Beste seines Volkes suchte und für das Wohl seines ganzen Stammes eintrat.
