Esther 1
1 In the dayes of Ahashuerosh (this is Ahashuerosh that reigned, from India euen vnto Ethiopia, ouer an hundreth, and seuen and twentie prouinces)
Ug nahitabo sa mga adlaw ni Assuero (kini mao si Assuero nga naghari sukad sa India bisan hangtud sa Etiopia, ibabaw sa usa ka gatus kaluhaan ug pito ka lalawigan),
2 In those dayes when the King Ahashuerosh sate on his throne, which was in the palace of Shushan,
Nga niadtong mga adlawa sa paglingkod ni Assuero nga hari sa trono sa iyang gingharian nga diha sa Susan nga mao ang palacio;
3 In the third yeere of his reigne, he made a feast vnto all his princes and his seruants, euen the power of Persia and Media, and to the captaines and gouernours of the prouinces which were before him,
Sa ikatolo ka tuig sa iyang paghari, siya naghimo ug usa ka combira sa tanan niyang mga principe ug sa iyang mga alagad; ang gahum sa Persia ug Media, ang mga halangdon ug ang mga principe sa mga lalawigan, maoy diha sa iyang atubangan;
4 That he might shewe the riches and glorie of his kingdome, and the honour of his great maiestie many dayes, euen an hundreth and foure score dayes.
Sa diha nga gipakita niya ang mga bahandi sa iyang mahimayaong gingharian ug ang kadungganan sa iyang labaw nga pagkahalangdon sa daghang mga adlaw, bisan sa usa ka gatus ug kawaloan ka adlaw.
5 And when these dayes were expired, the King made a feast to all the people that were founde in the palace of Shushan, both vnto great and small, seuen dayes, in the court of the garden of the Kings palace,
Ug sa natuman na kining mga adlawa, ang hari naghimo ug usa ka combira sa tibook nga katawohan nga nanambong diha sa Susan nga mao ang palacio, dagku ug gagmay, pito ka adlaw, diha sa sawang sa tanaman sa palacio sa hari.
6 Vnder an hanging of white, greene, and blue clothes, fastened with cordes of fine linen and purple, in siluer rings, and pillars of marble: the beds were of golde, and of siluer vpon a pauement of porphyre, and marble and alabaster, and blue colour.
Didto may mga tabil nga maputing panapton, sa verde, ug sa azul, nga gihigut pinaagi sa mga pisi sa lino nga fino ug purpura ngadto sa mga singsing nga salapi ug sa mga haligi nga marmol: ang mga higdaanan nga bulawan ug salapi, ibabaw sa usa ka salug nga tisa nga mapula, ug maputi, ug madalag, ug maitum nga marmol.
7 And they gaue them drinke in vessels of golde, and changed vessel after vessel, and royall wine in abundance according to the power of the King.
Ug ilang gihatagan sila ug mga ilimnon sa mga sudlanan nga bulawan (ang mga sudlanan nga nanagkalainlain), ug ang harianong vino nga daghan, sumala sa pagkamadagayaon sa hari.
8 And the drinking was by an order, none might compel: for so the King had appoynted vnto all the officers of his house, that they should do according to euery mans pleasure.
Ug ang pag-inum pinasubay sa balaod; walay makapugos; kay ingon nga ang hari nagtudlo sa tanang mga punoan sa iyang balay, nga sila managbuhat sumala sa kabubut-on sa tagsatagsa.
9 The Queene Vashti made a feast also for the women in the royall house of King Ahashuerosh.
Si Vasthi usab nga reina, naghimo ug usa ka combira alang sa mga babaye sa harianong balay nga iya ni Assuero nga hari.
10 Vpon the seuenth daye when the King was merie with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seuen eunuches, (that serued in the presence of King Ahashuerosh)
Sa ikapito ka adlaw, sa nagmalipayon ang kasingkasing sa hari tungod sa vino, iyang gisugo si Mehuman, si Biztha, si Harbona, si Bigtha, ug si Abagtha, si Zetar, ug si Carcas, ang pito ka mga eunucos nga nanag-alagad sa atubangan ni Assuero nga hari.
11 To bring Queene Vashti before the King with the crowne royall, that he might shewe the people and the princes her beautie: for shee was fayre to looke vpon.
Sa pagdala kang Vasthi nga reina sa atubangan sa hari lakip ang mga harianong purongpurong, aron sa pagpakita sa mga katawohan ug sa mga principe sa iyang kaanyag; kay siya matahum nga pagatan-awon.
12 But the Queene Vashti refused to come at the Kings worde, which he had giuen in charge to the eunuches: therefore the King was very angry, and his wrath kindled in him.
Apan ang reina nga si Vasthi nagdumili sa pag-adto sumala sa sugo sa hari nga gidala sa mga eunucos; busa ang hari naligutgut kaayo ug ang iyang kasuko misilaub diha kaniya.
13 Then the King said to the wise men, that knew the times (for so was the Kings maner towards all that knew the law and the iudgement:
Unya ang hari miingon sa mga manggialamon nga tawo, nga nanghibalo sa mga panahon (kay maoy batasan sa hari kaniadto tungod sa tanan nga nanghibalo sa balaod ug paghukom;
14 And the next vnto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan the seuen princes of Persia and Media, which sawe the Kings face, and sate the first in the kingdome)
Ug ang sunod kaniya, mao si Carsena, si Sethar, si Admatha, si Tharsis, si Meres, si Marsena, si Memucan, ang pito ka mga principe sa Persia ug Media, nga nakakita sa nawong sa hari ug ming-una sa paglingkod sa gingharian),
15 What shall we do vnto the Queene Vashti according to the law, because she did not according to the worde of the King Ahashuerosh by the commission of the eunuches?
Unsay atong pagabuhaton sa reina nga si Vasthi sumala sa balaod, tungod kay wala niya buhata ang sugo sa hari nga si Assuero nga gidala sa mga eunucos?
16 Then Memucan answered before the King and the Princes, The Queene Vashti hath not only done euill against the King, but against all the princes, and against all the people that are in all the prouinces of King Ahashuerosh.
Ug si Memucan mitubag sa atubangan sa hari ug sa mga principe: Si Vasthi nga reina wala masayup batok sa hari lamang, kondili sa tanan usab nga mga principe, ug sa tanang mga katawohan nga anaa sa mga lalawigan ni hari Assuero.
17 For the acte of the Queene shall come abroade vnto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their owne eyes, and shall say, The King Ahashuerosh comanded Vashti the Queene to be brought in before him, but she came not.
Kay kining buhata sa reina modangat sa halayong dapit ngadto sa tanang mga babaye, aron himoon ang ilang mga bana nga talamayon sa ilang mga mata, kong unya kini ikasugilon: Ang hari nga si Assuero nagsugo kang Vasthi nga paadtoon ngadto sa iyang atubangan, apan siya wala umadto.
18 So shall the princesses of Persia and Media this day say vnto all the Kings Princes, when they heare of the acte of the Queene: thus shall there be much despitefulnesse and wrath.
Ug niining adlawa ang mga princesa sa Persia ug Media nga nakadungog sa buhat sa reina moingon niini sa tanang mga principe sa hari. Busa manggula ang hilabihang pagtamay ug kaligutgut.
19 If it please the King, let a royal decree proceede from him, and let it be written among the statutes of Persia, and Media, (and let it not be transgressed) that Vashti come no more before King Ahashuerosh: and let the King giue her royal estate vnto her companion that is better then she.
Kong kini makapahimuot sa hari, ipagula ang usa ka harianong sugo gikan kaniya, ug ipasulat kini uban sa mga balaod sa mga Persiahanon ug Medianhon nga kini dili mabalhin, nga si Vasthi dili na moanha sa atubangan ni Assuero nga hari; ug ipahatag sa hari ang kahimtang nga harianon sa lain nga labing maayo pa kay kang Vasthi.
20 And when the decree of the King which shalbe made, shalbe published throughout all his kingdome (though it be great) all the women shall giue their husbands honour, both great and small.
Ug kong ang sugo sa hari nga iyang pagabuhaton igasangyaw sa tibook niyang gingharian (kay kini daku), ang tanang mga asawa mohatag sa kadungganan sa ilang mga bana, sa dagku kun sa gagmay.
21 And this saying pleased the King and the princes, and the King did according to the worde of Memucan.
Ug ang pulong nakapahimuot sa hari ug sa mga principe; ug ang hari nagbuhat sumala sa pulong ni Memucan:
22 For he sent letters into all the prouinces of the King, into euery prouince according to the writing thereof, and to euery people after their language, that euery man should beare rule in his owne house, and that he should publish it in the language of that same people.
Kay siya nagpadala ug mga sulat sa tanang mga lalawigan sa hari, sa tagsatagsa ka lalawigan sumala sa nahisulat didto, ug sa tagsatagsa ka katawohan sumala sa ilang pinulongan, nga ang tagsatagsa ka tawo mgahari sa iyang kaugalingong balay, ug magasulti sumala sa pinulongan sa katawohan.
