< Ecclesiastes 7 >
1 A good name is better then a good oyntment, and the day of death, then the day that one is borne.
Minphatna kimu hi gimnam tuipen sang in jong amanlu joi. Chule napen nikho sang in jong nathi nikho phajoa ahi.
2 It is better to goe to the house of mourning, then to goe to the house of feasting, because this is the ende of all men: and the liuing shall lay it to his heart.
Thina kin’a kimanchah hi golnop bolna mun’a gache sangin aphajoi. Ahimongin, mitin kithi ding ahijeh'in, mihingin hiche hi alunga agel ding doltah ahi.
3 Anger is better then laughter: for by a sad looke the heart is made better.
Lungkham hi muilhah sangin aphajoi, ajeh chu lungkham na hin i-chunga kisuhthengna ahin sodohji ahi.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning: but the heart of fooles is in the house of mirth.
Miching khat chun thina chung chang hi aha gel’in ahi, hinlah mingol vang chun phatpha muding bou ageljin ahi.
5 Better it is to heare ye rebuke of a wise man, then that a man should heare the song of fooles.
Mi ngol khat in apachat hisang in, miching khat oimo chan apha joi.
6 For like ye noyse of the thornes vnder the pot, so is the laughter of the foole: this also is vanitie.
Mi ngol nuijatna chu lingphung meiyin akah gin kija tobang ahin, imacha kah louvin aki chai jitai.
7 Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad: and the rewarde destroyeth the heart.
Miching chu aki-engbol teng angol lojin, chule guhthim thilpeh hin lungthim asuhmo bepji ahi.
8 The ende of a thing is better then the beginning thereof, and the pacient in spirit is better then the proude in spirit.
Achaina hi apatna sang in apha jon chule kiletsah sang in, thohhat aphachom joi.
9 Be not thou of an hastie spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosome of fooles.
Lunghan kitim them in, ajeh chu lunghan hin angoltoh kibang bep naso ding ahi.
10 Say not thou, Why is it that the former dayes were better then these? for thou doest not enquire wisely of this thing.
“Achesa nikho phaho chu ngaicha gunset hih in, hichu mi chinga ahi poi.”
11 Wisedome is good with an inheritance, and excellent to them that see the sunne.
Sum nanei teng leh chihna hi phachom cheh ahi. Hinkhoa kho-sahna dinga ania phachom tah ahi.
12 For man shall rest in the shadowe of wisedome, and in the shadowe of siluer: but the excellencie of the knowledge of wisedome giueth life to the possessers thereof.
Chihna le sum hin ipi hijongleh nanei sah jeng thei ahinai. Hinlah chihna kiti bouhin na hinkho ahuhhing jou ding ahije.
13 Beholde the worke of God: for who can make straight that which he hath made crooked?
Pathen thilbol ho chu janom jeng in, ajeh chu aman ahe konsa chu koiyin asuh-jang jou ding ham?
14 In the day of wealth be of good comfort, and in the day of affliction consider: God also hath made this contrary to that, to the intent that man shoulde finde nothing after him.
Ning lhinga naum laisen kipah’in, hinlah hahsatnan nahinphah teng jongleh, ania Pathenna hungkon ahiti tahsan in. Hiche lei hinkhoa hin ima hiti mong ding ahiti, akisei thei poi kiti hi geldoh jing in.
15 I haue seene all things in the dayes of my vanitie: there is a iust man that perisheth in his iustice, and there is a wicked man that continueth long in his malice.
Keiman hinlona ajeh umlou tobangbep leiset hinkhoa hin, khangdong phatah tah ho athia chule migilou ho hinkho asot’uhi kamu doh in ahi.
16 Be not thou iust ouermuch, neither make thy selfe ouerwise: wherefore shouldest thou be desolate?
Hijeh chun mohphat behset hih in, ahilouva ahileh chingval behset hih in! Idia nangmatah kisumang ding nahi ham?
17 Be not thou wicked ouermuch, neither be thou foolish: wherefore shouldest thou perish not in thy time?
Chutima chun gilou behset jong bol hih in. Ngol hih beh in! Ipi dinga naphat lhin masanga thi ding nahim?
18 It is good that thou lay hold on this: but yet withdrawe not thine hand from that: for he that feareth God, shall come forth of them all.
Hiche kihil naho hi lunggut in gel in, ajeh chu koi hitaleh Pathen ging mi chun; hitobang che valna hi ania hintoh ponte.
19 Wisedome shall strengthen the wise man more then ten mightie princes that are in ye citie.
Khopi sunga lamkai mi som sangin, miching khat chu gamcheng in ahat joi.
20 Surely there is no man iust in the earth, that doeth good and sinneth not.
Leiset chunga hin mihem khatcha aphajeng bol chonse kha louhel aumpoi.
21 Giue not thine heart also to all ye wordes that men speake, lest thou doe heare thy seruant cursing thee.
Mi thusei jouse het ding go hih in, nasoh jeng in jong na gaosap get in nate.
22 For often times also thine heart knoweth that thou likewise hast cursed others.
Ajeh chu nangma tah jeng in jong midang na gaosap ji chu na henai.
23 All this haue I prooued by wisedome: I thought I will be wise, but it went farre from me.
Keiman kajo channa chihna in kalunggel le kachonna eilamkai jing na ding in ka ngai ton ahi. Keimatah in kaseijin, “Keima chingthei ding in ka kigel lha tai.” Hinlah ka chuti theijou hihbeh in ahi.
24 It is farre off, what may it be? and it is a profound deepenesse, who can finde it?
Chihna hi gamlatah’a aum jing in chule holdoh jong ahah sai.
25 I haue compassed about, both I and mine heart to knowe and to enquire and to search wisedome, and reason, and to knowe the wickednesse of follie, and the foolishnesse of madnesse,
Keiman muntina chun, chihna le hetkhenna chu iti hung umhija ham tin ajeh kahol in ahi. Keima tah in kholchilna neija konin gitlouna hi ngol jeh ahin, chule ngol kitihi lung chavai kiseina ahije, tiphot chenna kanei ahi tai.
26 And I finde more bitter then death the woman whose heart is as nettes and snares, and her handes, as bands: he that is good before God, shalbe deliuered from her, but the sinner shall be taken by her.
Keiman kavet chil’a ahileh, duha-thuhtah numei chu thitheina thangkol sanga khohse joa ahichu ka kholdoh ahitai. Ami hebol jong kipalna thangkol bep ahi, chule akhut nemtah jong chu kihenna thihkol ahibouve. Pathen lunglhaina’a umho chu amanua kon’a hoidoh ding, hinlah chonse ho chu amanu thanga ga-oh ding ahiuve.
27 Beholde, sayth the Preacher, this haue I found, seeking one by one to finde the count:
Thuhilpa chun, “Hiche hi keiman hoima lamjouse ahitheina ding kavet toh lea konna achaina kasem chu hiche hi ahi.
28 And yet my soule seeketh, but I finde it not: I haue found one man of a thousand: but a woman among them all haue I not founde.
Keiman kavel hol hol jeng vang'in, ka hol lona pentah chu kamu joupoi. Mi sangkhat lah’a khatbou gunchena nei pasal khat ahijouvin, hinlah numei khat jong akimu joupoi.
29 Onely loe, this haue I founde, that God hath made man righteous: but they haue sought many inuentions.
Chule keiman hiche hi kamui: Pathen’in miho hi gun chena neija asem ahin, hinlah amahon achang cheh-uva aphalou akilam doh-u ahibouve.
