Ecclesiastes 11
1 Cast thy bread vpon the waters: for after many daies thou shalt finde it.
Echa tu pan sobre las aguas, Porque después de muchos días lo hallarás.
2 Giue a portion to seuen, and also to eight: for thou knowest not what euill shalbe vpon ye earth.
Reparte a siete, y aun a ocho, Porque no sabes el mal que vendrá sobre la tierra.
3 If the clouds be full, they wil powre forth raine vpon the earth: and if the tree doe fall toward the South, or toward the North, in the place that the tree falleth, there it shalbe.
Si las nubes están llenas de lluvia, Se vaciarán sobre la tierra, Y si un árbol cae hacia el sur o hacia el norte, En el lugar donde caiga quedará.
4 He that obserueth ye winde, shall not sow, and he that regardeth the cloudes, shall not reape.
El que observa el viento no sembrará, Y el que mira las nubes, no cosechará.
5 As thou knowest not which is ye way of the spirit, nor how the bones doe growe in the wombe of her that is with child: so thou knowest not the worke of God that worketh all.
Así como no sabes cuál es la senda del viento, Ni cómo crecen los huesos en el vientre de la que está embarazada, Así ignoras la obra de ʼElohim, Quien hace todas las cosas.
6 In the morning sowe thy seede, and in the euening let not thine hand rest: for thou knowest not whither shall prosper, this or that, or whether both shalbe a like good.
Por la mañana siembra tu semilla, Y al llegar la noche no des reposo a tu mano. Porque no sabes qué es lo mejor, Si esto o aquello, O si ambas cosas serán igualmente buenas.
7 Surely the light is a pleasant thing: and it is a good thing to the eyes to see the sunne.
Agradable es la luz, Y grato a los ojos contemplar el sol.
8 Though a man liue many yeeres, and in them all he reioyce, yet hee shall remember the daies of darkenesse, because they are manie, all that commeth is vanitie.
Pero aunque el hombre viva muchos años, Y en todos ellos tenga gozo, Recuerde que los días de oscuridad serán muchos más. ¡Todo lo que viene es vanidad!
9 Reioyce, O yong man, in thy youth, and let thine heart cheere thee in the dayes of thy youth: and walke in the waies of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but knowe that for all these things, God wil bring thee to iudgement.
Alégrate, oh joven, en tu juventud, Y tome placer tu corazón en los días de tu adolescencia. Sigue los impulsos de tu corazón Y los deseos de tus ojos. Pero sabe que por todas estas cosas te juzgará ʼElohim.
10 Therefore take away griefe out of thine heart, and cause euil to depart from thy flesh: for childehood and youth are vanitie.
Aparta la ira y el enojo de tu corazón, Y aleja el mal de tu carne. Porque la adolescencia y la juventud son vanidad.
