Deuteronomy 4
1 Nowe therefore hearken, O Israel, vnto the ordinances and to the lawes which I teache you to doe, that ye may liue and goe in, and possesse the lande, which the Lord God of your fathers giueth you.
Agora, pois, ó Israel, ouve os estatutos e regulamentos que eu vos ensino, para que os executeis, e vivais, e entreis, e possuais a terra que o SENHOR o Deus de vossos pais te dá.
2 Ye shall put nothing vnto the word which I command you, neither shall ye take ought there from, that ye may keepe the commandements of the Lord your God which I commande you.
Não acrescentareis à palavra que eu vos mando, nem diminuireis dela, para que guardeis os mandamentos do SENHOR vosso Deus que eu vos ordeno.
3 Your eyes haue seene what the Lord did because of Baal-Peor, for al the men that folowed Baal-Peor the Lord thy God hath destroyed euery one from among you.
Vossos olhos viram o que fez o SENHOR por motivo de Baal-Peor; que a todo homem que foi atrás de Baal-Peor destruiu o SENHOR teu Deus do meio de ti.
4 But ye that did cleaue vnto the Lord your God, are aliue euery one of you this day.
Mas vós que vos achegastes ao SENHOR vosso Deus, todos estais vivos hoje.
5 Behold, I haue taught you ordinances, and lawes, as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should doe euen so within the land whither ye goe to possesse it.
Olhai, eu vos ensinei estatutos e regulamentos, como o SENHOR meu Deus me mandou, para que façais assim em meio da terra na qual entrais para possuí-la.
6 Keepe them therefore, and doe them; for that is your wisdome, and your vnderstanding in the sight of the people, which shall heare all these ordinances, and shall say, Onely this people is wise, and of vnderstanding, and a great nation.
Guardai-os, pois, e ponde-os por obra: porque esta é vossa sabedoria e vossa inteligência aos olhos dos povos, os quais ouvirão todos estes estatutos, e dirão: Certamente povo sábio e entendido, gente grande é esta.
7 For what nation is so great, vnto whome the gods come so neere vnto them, as the Lord our God is neere vnto vs, in all that we call vnto him for?
Porque que gente grande há que tenha os deuses próximo a si, como o está o SENHOR nosso Deus em tudo quanto lhe pedimos?
8 And what nation is so great, that hath ordinances and lawes so righteous, as all this Lawe, which I set before you this day?
E que gente grande há que tenha estatutos e regulamentos justos, como é toda esta lei que eu ponho hoje diante de vós?
9 But take heede to thy selfe, and keepe thy soule diligently, that thou forget not the thinges which thine eyes haue seene, and that they depart not out of thine heart, all the dayes of thy life: but teach them thy sonnes, and thy sonnes sonnes:
Portanto, guarda-te, e guarda tua alma com empenho, que não te esqueças das coisas que teus olhos viram, nem se apartem de teu coração todos os dias de tua vida: e as ensinarás a teus filhos, e aos filhos de teus filhos;
10 Forget not the day that thou stoodest before the Lord thy God in Horeb, when the Lord said vnto me, Gather me the people together, and I wil cause them heare my wordes, that they may learne to feare me all the dayes that they shall liue vpon the earth, and that they may teache their children:
No dia que estiveste diante do SENHOR teu Deus em Horebe, quando o SENHOR me disse: Junta-me o povo, para que eu lhes faça ouvir minhas palavras, as quais aprenderão, para temer-me todos os dias que viverem sobre a terra: e as ensinarão a seus filhos;
11 Then came you neere and stoode vnder the mountaine, and the mountaine burnt with fire vnto the mids of heauen, and there was darkenesse, cloudes and mist.
E vos aproximastes, e vos pusestes ao pé do monte; e o monte ardia em fogo até em meio dos céus com trevas, nuvem, e escuridão.
12 And the Lord spake vnto you out of the middes of the fire, and ye heard the voyce of the wordes, but sawe no similitude, saue a voyce.
E falou o SENHOR convosco do meio do fogo: ouvistes a voz de suas palavras, mas a exceção de ouvir a voz, nenhuma forma vistes:
13 Then hee declared vnto you his couenant which he commanded you to doe, euen the ten commandements, and wrote them vpon two tables of stone.
E ele vos anunciou seu pacto, o qual vos mandou pôr por obra, os dez mandamentos; e escreveu-os em duas tábuas de pedra.
14 And the Lord commanded me that same time, that I should teach you ordinances and lawes, which ye should obserue in the lande, whither ye goe, to possesse it.
A mim também me mandou o SENHOR então ensinar-vos os estatutos e regulamentos, para que os pusestes por obra na terra à qual passais para possuí-la.
15 Take therefore good heede vnto your selues: for ye sawe no image in the day that the Lord spake vnto you in Horeb out of the middes of the fire:
Guardai pois muito vossas almas: pois nenhuma forma vistes no dia que o SENHOR falou convosco do meio do fogo:
16 That ye corrupt not your selues, and make you a grauen image or representation of any figure: whither it be the likenes of male or female,
Para que não vos corrompais, e façais para vós escultura, imagem de forma alguma, efígie de macho ou fêmea,
17 The likenes of any beast that is on earth, or the likenesse of any fethered foule that flieth in the aire:
Figura de algum animal que seja na terra, forma de ave alguma de asas que voe pelo ar,
18 Or the likenesse of any thing that creepeth on the earth, or the likenesse of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth,
Figura de nenhum animal que vá arrastando pela terra, forma de peixe algum que haja na água debaixo da terra:
19 And lest thou lift vp thine eyes vnto heauen, and when thou seest the sunne and the moone and the starres with all the host of heauen, shouldest bee driuen to worship them and serue them, which the Lord thy God hath distributed to all people vnder the whole heauen.
E para que levantando teus olhos ao céu, e vendo o sol e a lua e as estrelas, e todo o exército do céu, não sejas incitado, e te inclines a eles, e lhes sirvas; que o SENHOR teu Deus os concedeu a todos os povos debaixo de todos os céus.
20 But the Lord hath taken you and brought you out of the yron fornace: out of Egypt to be vnto him a people and inheritance, as appeareth this day.
Porém a vós o SENHOR vos tomou, e vos tirou do forno de ferro, do Egito, para que lhe sejais por povo de herança como neste dia.
21 And the Lord was angrie with me for your words, and sware that I should not goe ouer Iorden, and that I should not goe in vnto that good land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee for an inheritance.
E o SENHOR se irou contra mim sobre vossos negócios, e jurou que eu não passaria o Jordão, nem entraria na boa terra, que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá por herança.
22 For I must die in this land, and shall not go ouer Iorden: but ye shall goe ouer, and possesse that good land.
Assim eu vou a morrer nesta terra; e não passo o Jordão: mas vós passareis, e possuireis aquela boa terra.
23 Take heede vnto your selues, least ye forget the couenant of the Lord your God which hee made with you, and least ye make you any grauen image, or likenes of any thing, as the Lord thy God hath charged thee.
Guardai-vos que não vos esqueçais do pacto do SENHOR vosso Deus, que ele estabeleceu convosco, e vos façais escultura ou imagem de qualquer coisa, que o SENHOR teu Deus te proibiu.
24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, and a ielous God.
Porque o SENHOR teu Deus é fogo que consome, Deus zeloso.
25 When thou shalt beget children and childrens children, and shalt haue remained long in the land, if ye corrupt your selues, and make any grauen image, or likenes of any thing, and worke euill in the sight of the Lord thy God, to prouoke him to anger,
Quando houverdes gerado filhos e netos, e houverdes envelhecido na terra, e vos corromperdes, e fizerdes escultura ou imagem de qualquer coisa, e fizerdes mal aos olhos do SENHOR vosso Deus, para irá-lo;
26 I call heauen and earth to record against you this day, that ye shall shortly perish from the land, whereunto ye goe ouer Iorden to possesse it: ye shall not prolong your dayes therein, but shall vtterly be destroyed.
Eu ponho hoje por testemunhas ao céu e à terra, que logo perecereis totalmente da terra até a qual passais o Jordão para possuí-la: não estareis nela longos dias sem que sejais destruídos.
27 And the Lord shall scatter you among the people, and ye shall be left few in nomber among the nations, whither the Lord shall bring you:
E o SENHOR vos espalhará entre os povos, e restareis poucos em número entre as nações às quais vos levará o SENHOR:
28 And there ye shall serue gods, euen ye worke of mans hand, wood, and stone, which neither see, nor heare, nor eate, nor smelll.
E servireis ali a deuses feitos das mãos de homens, a madeira e a pedra, que não vem, nem ouvem, nem comem, nem cheiram.
29 But if from thence thou shalt seeke the Lord thy God, thou shalt finde him, if thou seeke him with all thine heart, and with all thy soule.
Mas se desde ali buscares ao SENHOR teu Deus, o acharás, se o buscares de todo teu coração e de toda tua alma.
30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come vpon thee, at the length if thou returne to the Lord thy God, and bee obedient vnto his voyce,
Quando estiveres em angústia, e te alcançarem todas estas coisas, se nos últimos dias te voltares ao SENHOR teu Deus, e ouvires sua voz;
31 (For the Lord thy God is a mercifull God) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the couenant of thy fathers, which hee sware vnto them.
Porque Deus misericordioso é o SENHOR teu Deus; não te deixará, nem te destruirá, nem se esquecerá do pacto de teus pais que lhes jurou.
32 For inquire now of the dayes that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man vpon the earth, and aske from the one ende of heauen vnto the other, if there came to passe such a great thing as this, or whether any such like thing hath bene heard.
Porque pergunta agora dos tempos passados, que foram antes de ti, desde o dia que criou Deus ao homem sobre a terra, e desde um fim do céu ao outro, se se fez coisa semelhante a esta grande coisa, ou se tenha ouvido outra como ela.
33 Did euer people heare the voyce of God speaking out of the middes of a fire, as thou hast heard, and liued?
Ouviu povo a voz de Deus, que falasse do meio do fogo, como tu a ouviste, e viveste?
34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from among nations, by tentations, by signes, and by wonders, and by warre, and by a mightie hand, and by a stretched out arme, and by great feare, according vnto all that the Lord your God did vnto you in Egypt before your eyes?
Ou experimentou Deus a vir a tomar para si nação do meio de outra nação, com provas, com sinais, com milagres, e com guerra, e mão forte, e braço estendido, e grandes espantos, segundo todas as coisas que fez convosco o SENHOR vosso Deus no Egito diante de teus olhos?
35 Vnto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest knowe, that the Lord hee is God, and that there is none but he alone.
A ti te foi mostrado, para que soubesses que o SENHOR ele é Deus; não há mais além dele.
36 Out of heauen hee made thee heare his voyce to instruct thee, and vpon earth he shewed thee his great fire, and thou heardest his voyce out of the middes of the fire.
Dos céus te fez ouvir sua voz, para ensinar-te: e sobre a terra te mostrou seu grande fogo: e ouviste suas palavras do meio do fogo.
37 And because hee loued thy fathers, therefore hee chose their seede after them, and hath brought thee out of Egypt in his sight by his mightie power,
E porquanto ele amou a teus pais, escolheu sua descendência depois deles, e te tirou diante de si do Egito com seu grande poder;
38 To thrust out nations greater and mightier then thou, before thee, to bring thee in, and to giue thee their land for inheritance: as appeareth this day.
Para lançar de diante de ti nações grandes e mais fortes que tu, e para te introduzir, e dar-te sua terra por herança, como hoje.
39 Vnderstande therefore this day, and consider in thine heart, that the Lord, he is God in heauen aboue, and vpon the earth beneath: there is none other.
Aprende pois hoje, e medita em teu coração que o SENHOR ele é o Deus acima no céu, e abaixo sobre a terra; não há outro.
40 Thou shalt keepe therefore his ordinances, and his commandements which I commaund thee this day, that it may goe well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayst prolong thy dayes vpon the earth, which the Lord thy God giueth thee for euer.
E guarda seus estatutos e seus mandamentos, que eu te mando hoje, para que te vá bem a ti e a teus filhos depois de ti, e prolongues teus dias sobre a terra que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá para sempre.
41 Then Moses separated three cities on this side of Iorden toward the sunne rising:
Então separou Moisés três cidades desta parte do Jordão ao oriente,
42 That the slayer should flee thither, which had killed his neighbour at vnwares, and hated him not in time past, might flee, I say, vnto one of those cities, and liue:
Para que fugisse ali o homicida que matasse a seu próximo por acidente, sem haver tido inimizade com ele desde ontem nem antes de ontem; e que fugindo de uma vez destas cidades salvara a vida:
43 That is, Bezer in the wildernesse, in the plaine countrey of the Reubenites: and Ramoth in Gilead among the Gadites: and Golan in Bashan among them of Manasseh.
A Bezer no deserto, em terra da planície, dos rubenitas; e a Ramote em Gileade, dos gaditas; e a Golã em Basã, dos de Manassés.
44 So this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel.
Esta, pois, é a lei que Moisés propôs diante dos filhos de Israel.
45 These are the witnesses, and the ordinances, and the lawes which Moses declared to the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt,
Estes são os testemunhos, e os estatutos, e os regulamentos, que Moisés notificou aos filhos de Israel, quando houveram saído do Egito;
46 On this side Iorden, in the valley ouer against Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon King of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come out of Egypt:
Desta parte do Jordão, no vale diante de Bete-Peor, na terra de Seom rei dos amorreus, que habitava em Hesbom, ao qual feriu Moisés com os filhos de Israel, quando saíram do Egito:
47 And they possessed his land, and the lande of Og King of Bashan, two Kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Iorden towarde the sunne rising:
E possuíram sua terra, e a terra de Ogue rei de Basã; dois reis dos amorreus que estavam desta parte do Jordão, ao oriente:
48 From Aroer, which is by the banke of the riuer Arnon, euen vnto mount Sion, which is Hermon,
Desde Aroer, que está junto à beira do ribeiro de Arnom, até o monte de Sião, que é Hermom;
49 And all the plaine by Iorden Eastwarde, euen vnto the Sea, of ye plaine, vnder the springs of Pisgah.
E toda a planície desta parte do Jordão, ao oriente, até o mar da planície, as encostas das águas abaixo do Pisga.
