Deuteronomy 31

1 Then Moses went and spake these wordes vnto all Israel,

Bere a Mose kaa saa nsɛm yi kyerɛɛ Israelfo wiee no,

2 And said vnto them, I am an hundreth and twentie yeere olde this day: I can no more goe out and in: also the Lord hath saide vnto me, Thou shalt not goe ouer this Iorden.

ɔkaa bio se, “Mprempren madi mfe ɔha ne aduonu, nti merentumi nni mo anim bio. Awurade aka akyerɛ me sɛ merentwa Asubɔnten Yordan.

3 The Lord thy God he will go ouer before thee: he will destroy these nations before thee, and thou shalt possesse them. Ioshua, he shall goe before thee, as the Lord hath said.

Nanso Awurade, mo Nyankopɔn no, ankasa bedi mo anim atwa. Ɔbɛsɛe aman a wɔte hɔ na mobɛfa wɔn asase no. Yosua ne onipa foforo a obedi mo anim sɛnea Awurade hyɛɛ mo bɔ no.

4 And the Lord shall doe vnto them, as he did to Sihon and to Og Kings of the Amorites: and vnto their lande whome he destroyed.

Awurade bɛsɛe aman aman a wɔte asase no so no sɛnea ɔsɛee Sihon ne Og a na wɔyɛ Amorifo ahemfo no.

5 And the Lord shall giue them before you that ye may do vnto them according vnto euery commandement, which I haue comanded you.

Awurade de nnipa a wɔte hɔ no bɛhyɛ mo nsa na ɛsɛ sɛ mo ne wɔn di no sɛnea mahyɛ mo no.

6 Plucke vp your hearts therefore, and be strong: dread not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God him selfe doeth goe with thee: he will not faile thee, nor forsake thee.

Monyɛ den na mo bo nyɛ duru! Munnsuro wɔn! Awurade, mo Nyankopɔn no, bedi mo anim. Ɔrenni mo huammɔ na ɔrennyaw mo nso.”

7 And Moses called Ioshua, and said vnto him in the sight of all Israel, Be of a good courage and strong: for thou shalt go with this people vnto the lande which the Lord hath sworne vnto their fathers, to giue them, and thou shalt giue it them to inherite.

Afei, Mose frɛɛ Yosua ka kyerɛɛ no wɔ Israelfo no nyinaa anim se, “Yɛ den na yɛ nnam, na wo na wode ɔman yi bɛkɔ asase a Awurade kaa wɔn agyanom ntam sɛ ɔde bɛma wɔn no so; na wo na wobɛkyɛ ama wɔn.

8 And the Lord him selfe doeth go before thee: he will be with thee: he will not faile thee, neither forsake thee: feare not therefore, nor be discomforted.

Awurade na ɔredi wʼanim. Ɔbɛka wo ho; ɔrenni wo huammɔ na ɔrennyaw wo nti nsuro na mma wo koma ntu!”

9 And Moses wrote this Lawe, and deliuered it vnto the Priestes the sonnes of Leui (which bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord) and vnto all the Elders of Israel,

Afei, Mose kyerɛw mmara yi too hɔ; ɔde maa Lewifo asɔfo a wɔsoaa Awurade apam adaka no ne Israel mpanyimfo nyinaa.

10 And Moses commanded them, saying, Euery seuenth yeere when the yeere of freedome shalbe in the feast of the Tabernacles:

Mose hyɛɛ wɔn se, “Mfe ason biara awiei, Asese Afahyɛ mu no, wɔmfa obiara ka a ɔde no nkyɛ no.

11 When all Israel shall come to appeare before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall chuse, thou shalt reade this Lawe before all Israel that they may heare it.

Israelfo nyinaa nhyia wɔ Awurade mo Nyankopɔn no, anim wɔ faako a ɔbɛkyerɛ no, na moakenkan saa mmara yi wɔ wɔn anim ama wɔate.

12 Gather the people together: men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may heare, and that they may learne, and feare the Lord your God, and keepe and obserue all the wordes of this Lawe,

Frɛ nnipa no nyinaa, mmarima, mmea, mmofra ne ahɔho a wɔte mo nkurow so nso sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wɔbɛte na wobesua sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ wosuro Awurade, mo Nyankopɔn no, na wobedi mmara no so pɛpɛɛpɛ

13 And that their children which haue not knowen it, may heare it, and learne to feare the Lord your God, as long as ye liue in the lande, whither ye goe ouer Iorden to possesse it.

na ama wɔn mma a wonnim mmara no ate na wɔasua sɛnea ɛsɛ sɛ wosuro Awurade, mo Nyankopɔn no, mmere dodow a mote asase a moretwa Yordan akɔfa sɛ agyapade no so.”

14 Then the Lord saide vnto Moses, Beholde, thy dayes are come, that thou must die: Call Ioshua, and stande ye in the Tabernacle of the Congregation that I may giue him a charge. So Moses and Ioshua went, and stoode in the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se, “Wo wu bere aso. Frɛ Yosua na fa no kɔ Ahyiae Ntamadan no mu, faako a mede nʼadwuma bɛhyɛ ne nsa no.” Enti Mose ne Yosua kɔdaa wɔn ho adi wɔ Ahyiae Ntamadan no mu.

15 And the Lord appeared in the Tabernacle, in the pillar of a cloude: and the pillar of the cloude stoode ouer the doore of the Tabernacle.

Na Awurade yii ne ho adi kyerɛɛ wɔn wɔ omununkum fadum mu, na omununkum no gyinaa ntamadan no abobow ano.

16 And the Lord said vnto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and this people will rise vp, and goe a whoring after the gods of a strange land (whither they goe to dwell therein) and will forsake me, and breake my couenant which I haue made with them.

Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se, “Ɛrenkyɛ wubewu na woakɔka wʼagyanom ho, na ɛrenkyɛ na saa nnipa yi de wɔn ho bɛma anyame hɔho a wɔwɔ asase a wɔrekɔ so no so no. Wobegyaw me na wɔabu apam a me ne wɔn hyehyɛɛ no so.

17 Wherefore my wrath will waxe hote against them at that day, and I will forsake them, and will hide my face from them: then they shalbe consumed, and many aduersities and tribulations shall come vpon them: so then they will say, Are not these troubles come vpon me, because God is not with me?

Na saa da no, me bo befuw wɔn na mapo wɔn; mede mʼanim behintaw wɔn na wɔbɛsɛe wɔn. Ɔhaw a emu yɛ den ahorow pii bɛba wɔn so ama wɔabisa se, ‘So ɛnsɛ sɛ saa ɔhaw yi ba, esiane sɛ Onyankopɔn nni yɛn nkyɛn bio no nti?’

18 But I will surely hide my face in that day, because of all the euill, which they shall commit, in that they are turned vnto other gods.

Saa bere no mede mʼanim behintaw wɔn esiane wɔn bɔne ahorow a wɔayɛ wɔ anyame afoforo a wɔsom no nti.

19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouthes, that this song may be my witnesse against the children of Israel.

“Afei, monkyerɛw saa dwom yi mu nsɛm mfa na monkyerɛ Israelfo no, na wɔnto sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ adansede ama me na mede atia wɔn.

20 For I will bring them into the land (which I sware vnto their fathers) that floweth with milke and honie, and they shall eate, and fil them selues, and waxe fat: then shall they turne vnto other gods, and serue them, and contemne me, and breake my couenant.

Mede wɔn bɛba asase a nufusu ne ɛwo resen wɔ so sɛnea mekaa ntam hyɛɛ wɔn agyanom bɔ no. Na wodidi mee yɛ akɛse a, afei, wɔbɛdan wɔn ani akɔsom anyame afoforo apo me, nam so abu mʼapam no so.

21 And then when many aduersities and tribulations shall come vpon them, this song shall answere them to their face as a witnesse: for it shall not be forgotte out of the mouthes of their posteritie: for I knowe their imagination, which they goe about euen now, before I haue brought them into the lande which I sware.

Afei, ɔhaw ne akwanside bebree ba wɔn so a, dwom yi bedi adanse atia wɔn, efisɛ wɔn asefo werɛ remfi da. Minim nea wotumi yɛ koraa ansa na mede wɔn bɛba asase a maka ho ntam ahyɛ bɔ no so.”

22 Moses therefore wrote this song the same day and taught it the children of Israel.

23 And God gaue Ioshua the sonne of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong, and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the lande, which I sware vnto them, and I will be with thee.

Afei, Awurade hyɛɛ Nun babarima Yosua sɛ, “Yɛ den na yɛ nnam, efisɛ wo na wode Israelfo no bɛba asase a mekaa ntam hyɛɛ ho bɔ no so na mʼankasa mɛka mo ho.”

24 And when Moses had made an ende of writing the wordes of this Lawe in a booke vntill he had finished them,

Bere a Mose kyerɛw mmara nsɛm no nyinaa fi mfiase kosii awiei no guu nhoma mu wiei no,

25 Then Moses commanded the Leuites, which bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, saying,

ɔde saa ahyɛde yi maa Lewifo a na wɔsoa Awurade apam adaka no:

26 Take the booke of this Lawe, and put ye it in the side of the Arke of the couenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witnes against thee.

“Momfa saa Mmara Nhoma yi nkɔto Awurade, mo Nyankopɔn, apam adaka no nkyɛn. Ɛhɔ na ɛbɛda sɛ adansede a etia Israelfo.

27 For I knowe thy rebellion and thy stiffe necke: beholde, I being yet aliue with you this day, ye are rebellious against the Lord: howe much more then after my death?

Efisɛ minim sɛnea moyɛ atuatewfo ne asoɔden. Mpo, me ne mo da so wɔ hɔ yi, moatew Awurade so atua. Na me wu akyi no, atua bɛn na morentew!

28 Gather vnto me all the Elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speake these wordes in their audience, and call heauen and earth to recorde against them.

Momfrɛ mo mpanyimfo nyinaa ne mo mmusuakuw ntuanofo nyinaa sɛnea metumi akasa akyerɛ wɔn na mafrɛ ɔsoro ne asase de adi adanse atia wɔn.

29 For I am sure that after my death ye will vtterly be corrupt and turne from the way, which I haue commanded you: therefore euill will come vpon you at the length, because ye will comit euill in the sight of the Lord, by prouoking him to anger through the worke of your hands.

Minim sɛ me wu akyi no, mobɛsɛe koraa na moaman afi ɔkwan a makyerɛ mo sɛ momfa so no so. Mmere a ɛreba no, amanehunu bɛba mo so, efisɛ monam bɔne a mobɛyɛ wɔ Awurade anim no so no bɛhwanyan nʼabufuw.”

30 Thus Moses spake in the audience of all the congregation of Israel the wordes of this song, vntill he had ended them.

Enti Mose kaa dwom no mu nsɛm nyinaa fi ti kosi ti kyerɛɛ Israelfo a wɔahyia hɔ no.
