Deuteronomy 30
1 Nowe when all these things shall come vpon thee, either the blessing or the curse which I haue set before thee, and thou shalt turne into thine heart, among all the nations whither the Lord thy God hath driuen thee,
Lorsque ces choses, cette bénédiction, puis cette malédiction que je te fais connaître, se seront réalisées pour toi, et lorsque tu te les seras rappelées en ton cœur parmi les nations chez qui le Seigneur t'aura dispersé;
2 And shalt returne vnto the Lord thy God, and obey his voyce in all that I commaund thee this day: thou, and thy children with all thine heart and with all thy soule,
Lorsque tu te seras converti au Seigneur ton Dieu, et que tu seras docile à sa parole pour exécuter de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme ce que je te prescris aujourd'hui,
3 Then the Lord thy God wil cause thy captiues to returne, and haue compassion vpon thee, and wil returne, to gather thee out of all the people, where the Lord thy God had scattered thee.
Le Seigneur réparera le mal que t'auront fait tes péchés; il aura pitié de toi, et il te fera revenir du milieu des Gentils chez qui le Seigneur t'aura dispersé.
4 Though thou werest cast vnto the vtmost part of heauen, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence wil he take thee,
Quand même tu serais disséminé sous tout le ciel, d'une extrémité à l'autre, le Seigneur te rassemblerait, le Seigneur l'en ramènerait.
5 And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possesse it, and he will shewe thee fauour, and will multiplie thee aboue thy fathers.
Le Seigneur ton Dieu te fera rentrer en la terre que tes pères t'auront transmise, et tu la possèderas; le Seigneur te comblera de biens, et il te sera plus favorable encore qu'à tes pères.
6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seede, that thou mayest loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with al thy soule, that thou maiest liue.
Dieu purifiera ton cœur et le cœur de ta race, pour que tu aimes le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme, et pour que tu vives.
7 And the Lord thy God will lay all these curses vpon thine enemies, and on them, that hate thee, and that persecute thee.
Le Seigneur transportera toutes ses malédictions sur tes ennemis, sur ceux qui te haïssent et t'auront persécuté.
8 Returne thou therefore, and obey the voyce of the Lord, and do all his commandements, which I commaund thee this day.
Et tu seras converti, tu seras docile à la parole du Seigneur ton Dieu, et tu exécuteras ses commandements que je t'intime aujourd'hui.
9 And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in euery worke of thine hande, in the fruite of thy bodie, and in the fruite of thy cattel, and in the fruite of the lande for thy wealth: for the Lord will turne againe, and reioyce ouer thee to do thee good, as he reioyced ouer thy fathers,
Alors, le Seigneur te bénira en toute œuvre de tes mains, et dans les fruits de tes entrailles, et dans les rejetons de tes bestiaux, et dans les récoltes de tes champs; car le Seigneur aura recommencé à faire sa joie de ta prospérité, comme il s'était réjoui de celle de tes pères.
10 Because thou shalt obey the voyce of the Lord thy God, in keeping his comandements, and his ordinances, which are written in the booke of this Law, when thou shalt returne vnto the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with al thy soule.
Et tu seras docile à la parole du Seigneur pour observer ses commandements, ses jugements et ses ordonnances écrits au livre de cette loi, si tu t'es converti au Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme.
11 For this commandement which I commande thee this day, is not hid from thee, neither is it farre off.
Le commandement que je te donne aujourd'hui n'est pas excessif ni hors de ta portée.
12 It is not in heauen, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go vp for vs to heauen, and bring it vs, and cause vs to heare it, that we may doe it?
Il n'est point au plus haut du ciel, de sorte que tu puisses dire: Qui s'élèvera pour nous jusqu'au ciel, et recueillera pour nous ce commandement, afin qu'après l'avoir entendu, nous l'exécutions?
13 Neither is it beyonde the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go ouer the sea for vs, and bring it vs, and cause vs to heare it, that we may do it?
Il n'est point au delà de la mer, de sorte que tu puisses dire: Qui pour nous se transportera au delà de la mer, et recueillera pour nous ce commandement, afin qu'après l'avoir entendu, nous l'exécutions?
14 But the word is very neere vnto thee: euen in thy mouth and in thine heart, for to do it.
La parole est auprès de toi; elle est dans ta bouche et dans ton cœur, et dans tes mains pour que tu l'accomplisses.
15 Beholde, I haue set before thee this day life and good, death and euill,
Je place aujourd'hui devant toi la vie et la mort, le bien et le mal.
16 In that I commaund thee this day, to loue the Lord thy God, to walke in his wayes, and to keepe his commandements, and his ordinances, and his lawes, that thou mayest liue, and be multiplied, and that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in the land, whither thou goest to possesse it.
Si tu es docile a ce commandement du Seigneur ton Dieu, que je t'intime aujourd'hui: d'aimer le Seigneur ton Dieu, de marcher en toutes ses voies, d'observer ses jugements et ses ordonnances, vous vivrez tous, vous serez nombreux, et le Seigneur ton Dieu te bénira sur toute la terre en laquelle tu seras entré pour en faire ton héritage.
17 But if thine heart turne away, so that thou wilt not obey, but shalt be seduced and worship other gods, and serue them,
Mais si ton cœur change, si tu deviens indocile, et si en ton égarement tu adores d'autres dieux, si tu les sers,
18 I pronounce vnto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, ye shall not prolong your dayes in the lande, whither thou passest ouer Iorden to possesse it.
Je te déclare aujourd'hui que vous périrez, et que vous ne passerez point de longs jours sur la terre au delà du Jourdain, où tu vas entrer pour qu'elle soit ton héritage.
19 I call heauen and earth to recorde this day against you, that I haue set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. therefore chuse life, that both thou and thy seede may liue,
Je prends maintenant à témoin devant vous le ciel et la terre, que je place devant vous la vie et la mort, la bénédiction et la malédiction: puisses-tu choisir la vie, afin que tu vives, toi et ta race, pour
20 By louing the Lord thy God, by obeying his voyce, and by cleauing vnto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy dayes: that thou mayest dwell in the lande which the Lord sware vnto thy fathers, Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob, to giue them.
Aimer le Seigneur ton Dieu, être docile à sa parole, et t'attacher à lui. Voilà la vie et la longue durée de tes jours sur la terre, que le Seigneur a promise à tes pères Abraham, Isaac et Jacob.
