Deuteronomy 3
1 Then we turned, and went vp by the way of Bashan: and Og King of Bashan came out against vs, he, and all his people to fight at Edrei.
Luego nos regresamos y subimos por el camino de Basán, y nos salió al encuentro Og, rey de Basán, con todo su pueblo para combatir en Edrei.
2 And the Lord sayde vnto me, Feare him not, for I will deliuer him, and all his people, and his land into thine hand, and thou shalt doe vnto him as thou diddest vnto Sihon King of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
Entonces Yavé me dijo: No le tengas temor, porque lo entregué en tu mano, junto con todo su pueblo y su tierra. Harás con él como hiciste con Sehón, el rey amorreo que vivía en Hesbón.
3 So the Lord our God deliuered also vnto our hand, Og the King of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him, vntill none was left him aliue,
Yavé nuestro ʼElohim entregó también en nuestra mano a Og, rey de Basán, con todo su pueblo, al cual derrotamos hasta no dejarle sobreviviente.
4 And we tooke all his cities the same time, neither was there a citie which we tooke not from them, euen three score cities, and all ye countrey of Argob, the kingdome of Og in Bashan.
Tomamos entonces todas sus ciudades. No quedó ciudad que no les tomáramos. Fueron 60 ciudades, toda la región de Argob, el reino de Og en Basán.
5 All these cities were fenced with hie walles, gates and barres, beside vnwalled townes a great many.
Todas estas eran ciudades fortificadas con murallas altas, puertas y barras, sin contar otras muchas ciudades no amuralladas.
6 And we ouerthrewe them, as we did vnto Sihon King of Heshbon, destroying euery citie, with men, women, and children.
Las destruimos, como hicimos con Sehón, rey de Hesbón. Matamos en toda ciudad a hombres, mujeres y niños,
7 But all the cattell and the spoyle of the cities we tooke for our selues.
aunque tomamos como botín todos los animales y el despojo de las ciudades.
8 Thus we tooke at that time out of the hand of two Kings of the Amorites, the land that was on this side Iorden from the riuer of Arnon vnto mount Hermon:
Así tomamos en aquel tiempo de mano de los dos reyes la tierra de los amorreos que estaban a este lado del Jordán, desde el arroyo Arnón hasta la montaña Hermón
9 (Which Hermon the Sidonians call Shirion, but the Amorites call it Shenir)
(los sidonios llaman a la montaña Hermón, Sirión, y los amorreos, Senir),
10 All the cities of the plaine, and all Gilead, and all Bashan vnto Salchah, and Edrei, cities of the kingdome of Og in Bashan.
todas las ciudades de la meseta, todo Galaad y todo Basán hasta Salca y Edrei, que son ciudades del reino de Og, en Basán.
11 For onely Og King of Bashan remained of the remnant of the gyants, whose bed was a bed of yron: is it not at Rabbath among the children of Ammon? the length thereof is nine cubites, and foure cubites the breadth of it, after the cubite of a man.
Porque solo Og, rey de Basán, quedó del resto de los refaítas. Ciertamente su cama de hierro está en Rabá de los hijos de Amón. Su longitud es cuatro metros y su anchura 1,8 metros, según la medida corriente.
12 And this land which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the riuer of Arnon, and halfe mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gaue I vnto the Reubenites and Gadites.
En aquel tiempo tomamos posesión de esta tierra desde Aroer, que está junto al arroyo Arnón, hasta la mitad de la montaña de Galaad con sus ciudades, la cual entregué a los rubenitas y a los gaditas.
13 And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdome of Og, gaue I vnto the halfe tribe of Manasseh: euen all the countrey of Argob with all Bashan, which is called, The land of gyants.
Pero el resto de Galaad y todo Basán, el reino de Og, lo entregué a la media tribu de Manasés: toda la región de Argob con todo Basán. Esta era llamada tierra de gigantes.
14 Iair the sonne of Manasseh tooke all the countrey of Argob, vnto the coastes of Geshuri, and of Maachathi: and called them after his owne name, Bashan, Hauoth Iair vnto this day.
Jaír, hijo de Manasés, tomó toda la región de Argob hasta la frontera con los gesuritas y los maakitas, y le dio su propio nombre: Villas de Jaír. Así se llama hasta hoy.
15 And I gaue part of Gilead vnto Machir.
A Maquir di el resto de Galaad,
16 And vnto the Reubenites and Gadites I gaue the rest of Gilead, and vnto the riuer of Arnon, halfe the riuer and the borders, euen vnto the riuer Iabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon:
y a los rubenitas y gaditas les di desde Galaad hasta el arroyo Arnón, con el límite en la mitad del valle, hasta el arroyo Jaboc, límite de los hijos de Amón.
17 The plaine also and Iorden, and the borders from Chinneereth euen vnto the Sea of the plaine, to wit, the salt Sea vnder the springs of Pisgah Eastwarde.
También les di como límite el Arabá y el Jordán, desde el Cinéret hasta el mar del Arabá, o mar de la Sal, al pie de las laderas de la montaña Pisga, al oriente.
18 And I commanded you the same time, saying, The Lord your God hath giuen you this lande to possesse it: ye shall goe ouer armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all men of warre.
En aquel tiempo les ordené: Yavé su ʼElohim les dio esta tierra para poseerla. Todos los valientes pasarán armados delante de sus hermanos, los hijos de Israel.
19 Your wiues onely, and your children, and your cattel (for I know that ye haue much cattel) shall abide in your cities, which I haue giuen you,
Solamente sus esposas, sus pequeños y su ganado (pues sé que tienen mucho ganado) quedarán en las ciudades que les di,
20 Vntill the Lord haue giuen rest vnto your brethren as vnto you, and that they also possesse the lande, which the Lord your God hath giuen them beyond Iorden: then shall ye returne euery man vnto his possession, which I haue giuen you.
hasta que Yavé conceda reposo a sus hermanos, así como a ustedes, de modo que también ellos tomen posesión de la tierra que Yavé su ʼElohim les da al otro lado del Jordán. Entonces cada uno podrá regresar a la posesión que le di.
21 And I charged Ioshua the same time, saying, Thine eyes haue seene all that the Lord your God hath done vnto these two Kings: so shall the Lord doe vnto all the kingdomes whither thou goest.
También en aquel tiempo ordené a Josué: Tus ojos vieron todo lo que Yavé tu ʼElohim hizo a estos dos reyes. Así hará Yavé a todos los reinos por donde pasarás tú.
22 Ye shall not feare them: for the Lord your God, he shall fight for you.
No les teman, porque el mismo Yavé su ʼElohim, es Quien pelea por ustedes.
23 And I besought the Lord the same time, saying,
Entonces supliqué a Yavé:
24 O Lord God, thou hast begunne to shewe thy seruant thy greatnesse and thy mightie hande: for where is there a God in heauen or in earth, that can do like thy workes, and like thy power?
¡Oh ʼAdonay Yavé! Tú comenzaste a mostrar a tu esclavo tu grandeza y tu fuerte mano, porque ¿cuál ʼElohim hay en el cielo o en la tierra que haga según tus obras y según tus proezas?
25 I pray thee let me go ouer and see the good land that is beyond Iorden, that goodly mountaine, and Lebanon.
¡Te ruego que yo también pase para contemplar la buena tierra que está al otro lado del Jordán, esa hermosa montaña y el Líbano!
26 But the Lord was angrie with me for your sakes, and would not heare me: and the Lord said vnto me, Let it suffice thee, speake no more vnto me of this matter.
Pero Yavé se mostró disgustado contra mí por causa de ustedes, y no me escuchó. Y Yavé me dijo: ¡Basta, no me hables más de este asunto!
27 Get thee vp into the top of Pisgah, and lift vp thine eyes Westward, and Northwarde, and Southward, and Eastward, and behold it with thine eyes, for thou shalt not goe ouer this Iorden:
Sube a la cumbre de la montaña Pisga y levanta tus ojos hacia el mar, al norte, al sur y al oriente. Contémplala con tus ojos, porque no cruzarás este Jordán.
28 But charge Ioshua, and incourage him, and bolden him: for hee shall goe before this people, and he shall deuide for inheritance vnto them, the land which thou shalt see.
Comisiona a Josué, fortalécelo y anímalo. Él lo cruzará al frente de este pueblo, y él les dará la tierra que verás como herencia.
29 So wee abode in the valley ouer against Beth-Peor.
Permanecimos en el valle frente a Bet-peor.
