< Deuteronomy 20 >

1 When thou shalt go forth to warre against thine enemies, and shalt see horses and charets, and people moe then thou, be not afrayde of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt.
If you will go out to war on enemies your and you will see horse and chariot a people great more than you not you must be afraid from them for Yahweh God your [is] with you who brought up you from [the] land of Egypt.
2 And when ye are come neere vnto the battel, then the Priest shall come forth to speake vnto the people,
And it will be when draw near you to the battle and he will come near the priest and he will speak to the people.
3 And shall say vnto them, Heare, O Israel: ye are come this day vnto battell against your enemies: let not your heartes faynt, neither feare, nor be amased, nor adread of them.
And he will say to them hear O Israel you [are] approaching this day to the battle on enemies your may not be timid heart your may not you be afraid and may not you make haste and may not you be terrified of them.
4 For ye Lord your God goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, and to saue you
For Yahweh God your [is] the [one who] goes with you to fight for you with enemies your to give victory you.
5 And let the officers speake vnto the people, saying, What man is there that hath buylt a new house, and hath not dedicate it? let him go and returne to his house, least he dye in the battel, and an other man dedicate it.
And they will say the officials to the people saying who? [is] the man who he has built a house new and not he has dedicated it let him go and let him return to house his lest he should die in the battle and a man another he will dedicate it.
6 And what man is there that hath planted a vineyarde, and hath not eaten of the fruite? let him go and returne againe vnto his house, least he die in the battel, and another eate the fruite.
And who? [is] the man who he has planted a vineyard and not he has put to use it let him go and let him return to house his lest he should die in the battle and a man another he will put to use it.
7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and returne againe vnto his house, lest he die in the battell, and another man take her.
And who? [is] the man who he has betrothed a woman and not he has taken her let him go and let him return to house his lest he should die in the battle and a man another he will take her.
8 And let the officers speake further vnto the people, and say, Whosoeuer is afrayde and faynt hearted, let him go and returne vnto his house, least his brethrens heart faynt like his heart.
And they will repeat the officials to speak to the people and they will say who? [is] the man fearful and [the] weak of heart let him go and let him return to house his and not it will be melted [the] heart of countrymen his like heart his.
9 And after that the officers haue made an ende of speaking vnto the people, they shall make captaines of the armie to gouerne the people.
And it will be when finish the officials to speak to the people and they will appoint commanders of armies at [the] head of the people.
10 When thou commest neere vnto a citie to fight against it, thou shalt offer it peace.
If you will draw near to a city to fight on it and you will proclaim to it to peace.
11 And if it answere thee againe peaceably, and open vnto thee, then let all the people that is founde therein, be tributaries vnto thee, and serue thee.
And it will be if peace it will answer you and it will open to you and it will be all the people which is found in it they will become for you forced labor and they will serve you.
12 But if it will make no peace with thee, but make war against thee, then shalt thou besiege it.
And if not it will make peace with you and it will make with you war and you will lay siege on it.
13 And the Lord thy God shall deliuer it into thine handes, and thou shalt smite all the males thereof with the edge of the sworde.
And he will give it Yahweh God your in hand your and you will strike down every male its to [the] mouth of [the] sword.
14 Onely the women, and the children, and the cattel, and all that is in the citie, euen all the spoyle thereof shalt thou take vnto thy selfe, and shalt eate the spoyle of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath giuen thee.
Only the women and the little one[s] and the livestock and all that it will be in the city all booty its you will plunder for yourself and you will consume [the] booty of enemies your which he has given Yahweh God your to you.
15 Thus shalt thou do vnto all ye cities, which are a great way off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations here.
Thus you will do to all the cities distant from you very which not [are] any of [the] cities of the nations these they.
16 But of the cities of this people, which the Lord thy God shall giue thee to inherite, thou shalt saue no person aliue,
Only from [the] cities of the peoples these which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you an inheritance not you will let live any breathing thing.
17 But shalt vtterly destroy them: to wit, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hiuites, and the Iebusites, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee,
For certainly you will totally destroy them the Hittite[s] and the Amorite[s] the Canaanite[s] and the Perizzite[s] the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s] just as he commanded you Yahweh God your.
18 That they teache you not to doe after all their abominations, which they haue done vnto their gods, and so ye should sinne against the Lord your God.
So that that not they may teach you to do according to all abominations their which they have done for gods their and you will sin to Yahweh God your.
19 When thou hast besieged a citie long time, and made warre against it to take it, destroy not the trees therof, by smiting an axe into them: for thou mayest eate of them: therfore thou shalt not cut them downe to further thee in the siege, (for the tree of the field is mans life)
If you will lay siege to a city days many to fight on it to capture it not you will destroy tree[s] its by wielding on it an axe for from it you will eat and it not you will cut down for ¿ human [is] [the] tree of the field to go from before you in state of siege.
20 Onely those trees, which thou knowest are not for meate, those shalt thou destroy and cut downe, and make fortes against the citie that maketh warre with thee, vntil thou subdue it.
Only a tree which you will know that [is] not a tree of food it it you will destroy and you will cut down and you will build siege work[s] on the city which it [is] making with you war until falls it.
