Deuteronomy 20
1 When thou shalt go forth to warre against thine enemies, and shalt see horses and charets, and people moe then thou, be not afrayde of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt.
১যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ যাওঁতে শত্রু পক্ষত আপোনালোকতকৈ অধিক সংখ্যাৰ ঘোঁৰা, ৰথ আৰু সেনাদল দেখি আপোনালোকে ভয় নকৰিব; কিয়নো, আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱা, যি জনে মিচৰ দেশৰ পৰা আপোনালোকক বাহিৰ কৰি আনিছে, তেওঁ আপোনালোকৰ লগত আছে।
2 And when ye are come neere vnto the battel, then the Priest shall come forth to speake vnto the people,
২যেতিয়া আপোনালোকে যুদ্ধলৈ যাবলৈ সাজু হ’ব, পুৰোহিতে আগবাঢ়ি আহি সৈন্যদলক উদ্দেশ্যি ক’ব,
3 And shall say vnto them, Heare, O Israel: ye are come this day vnto battell against your enemies: let not your heartes faynt, neither feare, nor be amased, nor adread of them.
৩“হে ইস্ৰায়েলীয়াসকল, শুনা, আজি তোমালোকৰ শত্রুবোৰৰ লগত যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ তোমালোক ওচৰ চাপিছা; তোমালোকৰ হৃদয়ত সাহস নেহেৰুৱাবা; ভয় নকৰিবা বা কম্পিত নহ’বা আৰু শত্রুপক্ষক দেখি ভয়ত ত্ৰাসিত নহ’বা।
4 For ye Lord your God goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, and to saue you
৪কিয়নো, তোমালোকক ৰক্ষা কৰিবলৈ আৰু শত্রুবোৰৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ তোমালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱায়েই তোমালোকৰ লগত গৈছে।”
5 And let the officers speake vnto the people, saying, What man is there that hath buylt a new house, and hath not dedicate it? let him go and returne to his house, least he dye in the battel, and an other man dedicate it.
৫তাৰ পাছত বিষয়াসকলে সৈন্যবোৰক ক’ব, “তোমালোকৰ মাজত নতুন ঘৰ সাজি প্ৰতিষ্ঠা নকৰাকৈ থকা কোনো লোক আছে নেকি? যদি আছে, তেন্তে তেওঁ নিজৰ ঘৰলৈ উলটি যাওক; নহ’লে তেওঁৰ যুদ্ধত মৃত্যু হ’লে, মৰিলে, আন কোনোবাই সেই ঘৰ প্ৰতিষ্ঠা কৰিব।
6 And what man is there that hath planted a vineyarde, and hath not eaten of the fruite? let him go and returne againe vnto his house, least he die in the battel, and another eate the fruite.
৬দ্ৰাক্ষাবাৰী পাতি তাৰ ফল ভোগ নকৰাকৈ কোনো লোক আছে নেকি? তেৱোঁ নিজ ঘৰলৈ উলটি যাওঁক। নহ’লে তেওঁৰ যুদ্ধত মৃত্যু হ’লে, আনে তাৰ ফল ভোগ কৰিব।
7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and returne againe vnto his house, lest he die in the battell, and another man take her.
৭বিয়াৰ সম্বন্ধ হোৱাৰ পাছত বিয়া নকৰাকৈ থকা কোনো লোক আছে নেকি? তেন্তে তেওঁ নিজ ঘৰলৈ উলটি যাওক; নহ’লে তেওঁৰ যুদ্ধত মৃত্যু হ’লে, আনে সেই ছোৱালীক বিয়া কৰিব।”
8 And let the officers speake further vnto the people, and say, Whosoeuer is afrayde and faynt hearted, let him go and returne vnto his house, least his brethrens heart faynt like his heart.
৮সেই বিষয়াসকলে পুনৰ ক’ব যে, “তোমালোকৰ মাজত কোনো ভয়াতুৰ বা সাহস নথকা হৃদয়ৰ লোক আছে নেকি? তেন্তে তেওঁ নিজ ঘৰলৈ উলটি যাওঁক; নহ’লে আন ইস্রয়েলীয়া ভাইসকলৰ মনোবল তেওঁৰ হৃদয়ৰ দৰে ভাঙি পৰিব।”
9 And after that the officers haue made an ende of speaking vnto the people, they shall make captaines of the armie to gouerne the people.
৯সৈন্যসকলৰ ওচৰত কথা কোৱা শেষ কৰি বিষয়াসকলে সৈন্যদলৰ ওপৰত সেনাপতি নিযুক্ত কৰিব।
10 When thou commest neere vnto a citie to fight against it, thou shalt offer it peace.
১০আপোনালোকে কোনো নগৰ আক্রমণ কৰিবলৈ যাওঁতে, প্ৰথমতে সেই ঠাইৰ লোকসকলৰ ওচৰত শান্তিৰ প্রস্তাৱ আগবঢ়াব।
11 And if it answere thee againe peaceably, and open vnto thee, then let all the people that is founde therein, be tributaries vnto thee, and serue thee.
১১যদি তেওঁলোকে প্রস্তাৱ গ্রহণ কৰে আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ দুৱাৰবোৰ আপোনালোকলৈ মুকলি কৰি দিয়ে, তেন্তে সেই ঠাইৰ সকলো লোক আপোনালোকৰ অধীনত ক্রীতদাস হ’ব আৰু আপোনালোকৰ কাৰণে কার্য কৰিবলৈ বাধ্য হ’ব।
12 But if it will make no peace with thee, but make war against thee, then shalt thou besiege it.
১২কিন্তু যদি শান্তিৰ প্রস্তাৱ প্রত্যাখান কৰে আৰু তাৰ পৰিবর্তে আপোনালোকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰে, তেতিয়া আপোনালোকে সেই নগৰ অৱৰোধ কৰিব।
13 And the Lord thy God shall deliuer it into thine handes, and thou shalt smite all the males thereof with the edge of the sworde.
১৩আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই যেতিয়া আপোনালোকক জয়ী কৰিব আৰু সেই ঠাই আপোনালোকৰ হাতত তুলি দিব, তেতিয়া নগৰৰ সকলো পুৰুষকে আপোনালোকে বধ কৰিব।
14 Onely the women, and the children, and the cattel, and all that is in the citie, euen all the spoyle thereof shalt thou take vnto thy selfe, and shalt eate the spoyle of thine enemies, which the Lord thy God hath giuen thee.
১৪কিন্তু মহিলাসকলক, শিশুসকলক আৰু পশুপাল আদি কৰি সেই নগৰত থকা আন সকলো বস্তু আপোনালোকে লুটদ্রব্যৰ সামগ্রীৰূপে নিজৰ কাৰণে নিব পাৰিব। শত্রুবোৰৰ দেশৰ পৰা লুট কৰা যি সকলো বস্তু আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই দিব, তাক আপোনালোকে ভোগ কৰিব পাৰিব।
15 Thus shalt thou do vnto all ye cities, which are a great way off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations here.
১৫যিবোৰ নগৰ আপোনালোকৰ দেশৰ পৰা অনেক দূৰৈত আছে, যিবোৰ আপোনালোকৰ ওচৰৰ জাতিবোৰৰ নগৰ নহয়, সেইবোৰৰ প্রতি আপোনালোকে সেইদৰে কৰিব।
16 But of the cities of this people, which the Lord thy God shall giue thee to inherite, thou shalt saue no person aliue,
১৬কিন্তু আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই আধিপত্যৰ অৰ্থে এই জাতিবোৰৰ যি সকলো নগৰ আপোনালোকক দিব, সেইবোৰ ঠাইৰ কোনো প্ৰাণীকে আপোনালোকে জীৱিত নাৰাখিব;
17 But shalt vtterly destroy them: to wit, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hiuites, and the Iebusites, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee,
১৭কিন্তু আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ আজ্ঞা অনুসাৰে আপোনালোকে হিত্তীয়া, ইমোৰীয়া, কনানীয়া, পৰিজ্জীয়া, হিব্বীয়া আৰু যিবুচীয়া লোকসকলক সম্পূর্ণভাৱে ধ্বংস কৰি পেলাব।
18 That they teache you not to doe after all their abominations, which they haue done vnto their gods, and so ye should sinne against the Lord your God.
১৮এনে নহওঁক যে যি ঘৃণনীয় কার্য তেওঁলোকে নিজৰ দেৱতাবোৰৰ পূজাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে কৰে, সেইবোৰ আপোনালোককো শিকাব। তাতে আপোনালোকে আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ বিৰুদ্ধে পাপ কৰিব।
19 When thou hast besieged a citie long time, and made warre against it to take it, destroy not the trees therof, by smiting an axe into them: for thou mayest eate of them: therfore thou shalt not cut them downe to further thee in the siege, (for the tree of the field is mans life)
১৯আপোনালোকে অনেক দিন ধৰি যেতিয়া কোনো নগৰ অৱৰোধ কৰি ৰাখি অধিকাৰ কৰিবলৈ যুদ্ধ কৰি থাকিব, তেতিয়া তাত থকা গছবোৰ কুঠাৰৰে কাটি নষ্ট নকৰিব। কিয়নো সেই গছবোৰৰ ফল আপোনালোকে খাব পাৰিব। সেয়ে আপোনালোকে গছবোৰ নাকাটিব। পথাৰৰ গছবোৰ জানো মানুহ যে, সেইবোৰক আপোনালোকে অৱৰোধ কৰিব?
20 Onely those trees, which thou knowest are not for meate, those shalt thou destroy and cut downe, and make fortes against the citie that maketh warre with thee, vntil thou subdue it.
২০কিন্তু যিবোৰ গছৰ ফল খাব পৰা নাযায় বুলি জানিব, কেৱল তেনে গছহে কাটি নষ্ট কৰিব পাৰিব আৰু যি ঠাইৰ লোকসকলে আপোনালোকৰ লগত যুদ্ধ কৰিব, তেওঁলোকৰ পতন নোহোৱালৈকে সেই গছবোৰক আপোনালোকে আত্মৰক্ষাৰ গড় কৰি ব্যৱহাৰ কৰিব পাৰিব।
