Deuteronomy 14
1 Ye are the children of the Lord your God. Ye shall not cut yourselues, nor make you any baldnesse betweene your eyes for the dead.
੧ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਵੱਟਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਭੱਦਣ ਕਰਾਇਓ
2 For thou art an holy people vnto ye Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all the people that are vpon the earth.
੨ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਰਜਾ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੱਜ-ਪਰਜਾ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਚੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
3 Thou shalt eate no maner of abomination.
੩ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਖਾਇਓ।
4 These are the beastes, which ye shall eate, the beefe, the sheepe, and the goate,
੪ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ, ਉਹ ਇਹ ਹਨ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਬਲ਼ਦ, ਭੇਡ, ਬੱਕਰੀ
5 The hart, and the roe buck, and the bugle, and the wilde goate, and the vnicorne, and the wilde oxe, and the chamois.
੫ਹਿਰਨ, ਚਿਕਾਰਾ, ਲਾਲ ਹਿਰਨ, ਜੰਗਲੀ ਬੱਕਰਾ, ਸਾਂਬਰ, ਜੰਗਲੀ ਸਾਨ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਭੇਡ।
6 And euery beast that parteth ye hoofe, and cleaueth the clift into two clawes, and is of the beasts that cheweth the cudde, that shall ye eate.
੬ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਖੁਰ ਪਾਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਖੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਜੁਗਾਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।
7 But these ye shall not eate, of them that chew the cud, and of them that deuide and cleaue the hoofe onely: ye camell, nor the hare, nor the cony: for they chewe the cudde, but deuide not ye hoofe: therefore they shall be vncleane vnto you:
੭ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾ ਖਾਇਓ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਜੁਗਾਲੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਜਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੁਰ ਪਾਟੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਊਠ, ਖਰਗੋਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਖਰਗੋਸ਼, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਜੁਗਾਲੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੁਰ ਪਾਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹਨ,
8 Also the swine, because he deuideth the hoofe, and cheweth not the cud, shalbe vncleane vnto you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, nor touch their dead carkeises.
੮ਸੂਰ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਖੁਰ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਜੁਗਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋਥ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਣਾ।
9 These ye shall eate, of all that are in the waters: all that haue finnes and scales shall ye eate.
੯ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਜਲ-ਜੰਤੂ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੰਭ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਨੇ ਹੋਣ।
10 And whatsoeuer hath no finnes nor scales, ye shall not eate: it shall be vncleane vnto you.
੧੦ਪਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੰਭ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਨੇ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ, ਉਹ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਖਾਇਓ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹਨ।
11 Of all cleane birdes ye shall eate:
੧੧ਸਾਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੰਛੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।
12 But these are they, whereof ye shall not eate: the eagle, nor the goshawke, nor the osprey,
੧੨ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਖਾਇਓ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਕਾਬ, ਗਿੱਧ, ਮੱਛੀ ਮਾਰ,
13 Nor the glead nor the kite, nor the vulture, after their kind,
੧੩ਇੱਲ, ਲਗੜ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਰਝ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ,
14 Nor all kinde of rauens,
੧੪ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ,
15 Nor the ostrich, nor the nightcrow, nor the semeaw, nor the hawke after her kinde,
੧੫ਸ਼ੁਤਰਮੁਰਗ, ਬਿਲ ਬਤੌਰੀ, ਕੋਇਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਜ਼ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ,
16 Neither the litle owle, nor the great owle, nor the redshanke,
੧੬ਨਿੱਕਾ ਉੱਲੂ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਉੱਲੂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਉੱਲੂ,
17 Nor the pellicane, nor the swanne, nor the cormorant:
੧੭ਹਵਾਸਿਲ, ਗਿਰਝ, ਮਾਹੀ ਗੀਰ,
18 The storke also, and the heron in his kinde, nor the lapwing, nor the backe.
੧੮ਲਮਢੀਂਗ ਅਤੇ ਬਗਲਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਚੱਕੀ ਰਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਚਮਗਾਦੜ,
19 And euery creeping thing that flieth, shall be vncleane vnto you: it shall not be eaten.
੧੯ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਿਸਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੰਖੇਰੂ, ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਨਾ ਖਾਧੇ ਜਾਣ।
20 But of all cleane foules ye may eate.
੨੦ਪਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਪੰਖੇਰੂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।
21 Ye shall eate of nothing that dieth alone, but thou shalt giue it vnto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eate it: or thou maiest sell it vnto a stranger: for thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mothers milke.
੨੧ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾ ਖਾਇਓ। ਇਹ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਕੋਲ ਵੇਚ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਰਜਾ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਮਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਉਬਾਲਿਓ।
22 Thou shalt giue the tithe of all the increase of thy seede, that commeth foorth of the fielde yeere by yeere.
੨੨ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੀਜ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਦਿਓ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਲ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
23 And thou shalt eate before the Lord thy God (in the place which he shall chose to cause his Name to dwell there) the tithe of thy corne, of thy wine, and of thine oyle, and the first borne of thy kine and of thy sheepe, that thou maiest learne to feare the Lord thy God alway.
੨੩ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇਗਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਨ, ਆਪਣੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਮਧ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੇਲ ਦੇ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੌਣੇ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੌਠਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਇਓ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਭੈਅ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਸਿੱਖੋ।
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to cary it, because the place is farre from thee, where the Lord thy God shall chose to set his Name, when the Lord thy God shall blesse thee,
੨੪ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇਗਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਲੰਮਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਨਾ ਸਕੋ,
25 Then shalt thou make it in money, and take the money in thine hand, and goe vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chose.
੨੫ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਇਓ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਚੁਣੇਗਾ,
26 And thou shalt bestowe the money for whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: whether it be oxe, or sheepe, or wine, or strong drinke, or whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: and shalt eate it there before the Lord thy God, and reioyce, both thou, and thine household.
੨੬ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਂ-ਬਲ਼ਦ, ਭੇਡ, ਦਾਖਰਸ, ਮਧ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਸਤੂ ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਜੀ ਲੋਚੇ, ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈ ਲਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਉੱਥੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਖਾਇਓ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰਿਓ।
27 And the Leuite that is within thy gates, shalt thou not forsake: for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee.
੨੭ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਲੇਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਭੁੱਲ ਨਾ ਜਾਇਓ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
28 At the end of three yeere thou shalt bring foorth all the tithes of thine increase of the same yeere, and lay it vp within thy gates.
੨੮ਹਰੇਕ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤੀਜੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਖਿਓ,
29 Then ye Leuite shall come, because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widowe, which are within thy gates, and shall eate, and be filled, that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in al the worke of thine hand which thou doest.
੨੯ਤਦ ਲੇਵੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ, ਯਤੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੋਣ, ਆ ਕੇ ਖਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਜਣ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਤ ਦੇਵੇ।
