Deuteronomy 14

1 Ye are the children of the Lord your God. Ye shall not cut yourselues, nor make you any baldnesse betweene your eyes for the dead.

Iere Herren eders Guds Børn, I skulle ikke saare eder selv eller rage eder imellem eders Øjne for en død.

2 For thou art an holy people vnto ye Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all the people that are vpon the earth.

Thi du er Herren din Gud et helligt Folk, og dig har Herren udvalgt at være ham et Ejendomsfolk fremfor alle Folk, som ere paa Jordens Kreds.

3 Thou shalt eate no maner of abomination.

Du skal ikke æde noget, som er vederstyggeligt.

4 These are the beastes, which ye shall eate, the beefe, the sheepe, and the goate,

Disse ere de Dyr, som I maa æde: Okse, Lam af Faarene og Kid af Gederne;

5 The hart, and the roe buck, and the bugle, and the wilde goate, and the vnicorne, and the wilde oxe, and the chamois.

Hjort og Raa og Bøffel og Stenbuk og Daadyr og Urnød og Stenged.

6 And euery beast that parteth ye hoofe, and cleaueth the clift into two clawes, and is of the beasts that cheweth the cudde, that shall ye eate.

Og alt Kvæg, som har Klove, og som har de tvende Klove kløvede, og som tygger Drøv iblandt Dyrene, det maa I æde.

7 But these ye shall not eate, of them that chew the cud, and of them that deuide and cleaue the hoofe onely: ye camell, nor the hare, nor the cony: for they chewe the cudde, but deuide not ye hoofe: therefore they shall be vncleane vnto you:

Dog dette maa I ikke æde af dem, som tygge Drøv, og af dem, som have helt adskilte Klove: Kamelen og Haren og Kaninen; thi de tygge Drøv, men skille dog ikke Kloven ad, de skulle være eder urene;

8 Also the swine, because he deuideth the hoofe, and cheweth not the cud, shalbe vncleane vnto you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, nor touch their dead carkeises.

og Svinet, thi det har Klove, men tygger ikke Drøv, det skal være eder urent; I skulle ikke æde af deres Kød og ikke røre ved deres Aadsel.

9 These ye shall eate, of all that are in the waters: all that haue finnes and scales shall ye eate.

Dette maa I æde af alt det, som er i Vandet: Alt det, som har Finne og Skæl, maa I æde.

10 And whatsoeuer hath no finnes nor scales, ye shall not eate: it shall be vncleane vnto you.

Men alt det, som ikke har Finne og Skæl, maa I ikke æde; det er eder urent.

11 Of all cleane birdes ye shall eate:

I maa æde hver ren Fugl.

12 But these are they, whereof ye shall not eate: the eagle, nor the goshawke, nor the osprey,

Men disse ere de, som I ikke maa æde af dem: Ørnen og Høgen og Strandørnen

13 Nor the glead nor the kite, nor the vulture, after their kind,

og Kragen og Skaden og Glenten med dens Arter

14 Nor all kinde of rauens,

og alle Ravne med deres Arter

15 Nor the ostrich, nor the nightcrow, nor the semeaw, nor the hawke after her kinde,

og Strudsen og Natuglen og Maagen og Spurvehøgen med dens Arter,

16 Neither the litle owle, nor the great owle, nor the redshanke,

Falken og Hornuglen og Viben

17 Nor the pellicane, nor the swanne, nor the cormorant:

og Rørdrummen og Pelikanen og Dykkeren

18 The storke also, and the heron in his kinde, nor the lapwing, nor the backe.

og Storken og Hejren med dens Arter og Urhanen og Aftenbakken.

19 And euery creeping thing that flieth, shall be vncleane vnto you: it shall not be eaten.

Og alt flyvende Vrimmel, det skal være eder urent, de skulle ikke ædes.

20 But of all cleane foules ye may eate.

I maa æde hver ren Fugl.

21 Ye shall eate of nothing that dieth alone, but thou shalt giue it vnto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eate it: or thou maiest sell it vnto a stranger: for thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mothers milke.

I maa ikke æde noget Aadsel; du kan give det til den fremmede, som er inden dine Porte, og han maa æde det, eller sælge den fremmede det; thi du er Herren din Gud et helligt Folk. Du skal ikke koge et Kid i sin Moders Mælk.

22 Thou shalt giue the tithe of all the increase of thy seede, that commeth foorth of the fielde yeere by yeere.

Du skal tiende af al din Sæds Grøde, som fremkommer af Marken hvert Aar.

23 And thou shalt eate before the Lord thy God (in the place which he shall chose to cause his Name to dwell there) the tithe of thy corne, of thy wine, and of thine oyle, and the first borne of thy kine and of thy sheepe, that thou maiest learne to feare the Lord thy God alway.

Og du skal æde for Herren din Guds Ansigt paa det Sted, som han udvælger til der at lade sit Navn bo, Tienden af dit Korn, din nye Vin og din Olie og de førstefødte af dit store Kvæg og af dit smaa Kvæg, at du maa lære at frygte Herren din Gud alle Dage.

24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to cary it, because the place is farre from thee, where the Lord thy God shall chose to set his Name, when the Lord thy God shall blesse thee,

Men naar Vejen er dig for lang, at du ikke formaar at bære det derhen, fordi det Sted er for langt fra dig, som Herren din Gud har udvalgt til der at sætte sit Navn, naar Herren din Gud velsigner dig:

25 Then shalt thou make it in money, and take the money in thine hand, and goe vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chose.

Saa skal du sælge det for Penge og tage Pengene i din Haand og gaa til det Sted, som Herren din Gud skal udvælge.

26 And thou shalt bestowe the money for whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: whether it be oxe, or sheepe, or wine, or strong drinke, or whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: and shalt eate it there before the Lord thy God, and reioyce, both thou, and thine household.

Og du skal give samme Penge ud for alt, hvad din Sjæl har Lyst til af stort Kvæg og af smaat Kvæg, af Vin og af stærk Drik, eller for alt, som din Sjæl begærer af dig; og du skal æde det for Herren din Guds Ansigt og være glad, du og dit Hus.

27 And the Leuite that is within thy gates, shalt thou not forsake: for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee.

Men Leviten, som er inden dine Porte, ham skal du ikke forlade; thi han har ingen Del eller Arv med dig.

28 At the end of three yeere thou shalt bring foorth all the tithes of thine increase of the same yeere, and lay it vp within thy gates.

Naar tre Aar ere til Ende, skal du udføre hele Tienden af din Afgrøde i samme Aar, og den skal du lade blive inden dine Porte.

29 Then ye Leuite shall come, because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widowe, which are within thy gates, and shall eate, and be filled, that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in al the worke of thine hand which thou doest.

Saa skal Leviten komme, fordi han har ingen Del eller Arv med dig, og den fremmede og den faderløse og Enken, som ere inden dine Porte, og de skulle æde og mættes, paa det at Herren din Gud skal velsigne dig i al din Haands Gerning, som du skal gøre.
