Deuteronomy 13
1 If there arise amog you a prophet or a dreamer of dreames, (and giue thee a signe or wonder,
೧ಯಾವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಕನಸುಗಾರನೇ ಆಗಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು, ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ಇತರ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ,
2 And the signe and the wonder, which hee hath tolde thee, come to passe) saying, Let vs go after other gods, which thou hast not knowen, and let vs serue them,
೨“ಈ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸೋಣ” ಎಂದು ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಆ ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಅದ್ಭುತವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ನಡೆದರೂ ನೀವು ಅವನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಬಾರದು.
3 Thou shalt not hearken vnto the wordes of the prophet, or vnto that dreamer of dreames: for the Lord your God prooueth you, to knowe whether ye loue the Lord your God with al your heart, and with all your soule.
೩ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಇವರು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೃದಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವರು ಹೌದೋ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ” ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
4 Yee shall walke after the Lord your God and feare him, and shall keepe his commandements, and hearken vnto his voyce, and yee shall serue him, and cleaue vnto him.
೪ಆತನು ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲೇ ನೀವು ನಡೆದು, ಆತನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ, ಆತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ, ಆತನಿಗೇ ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿ, ಆತನನ್ನೇ ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕು.
5 But that prophet, or that dreamer of dreames, he shall be slaine, because hee hath spoken to turne you away from the Lord your God (which brought you out of the lande of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the house of bodage) to thrust thee out of the way, wherein the Lord thy God commanded thee to walke: so shalt thou take the euill away foorth of the middes of thee.
೫ಆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗೆ ಅಥವಾ ಆ ಕನಸುಗಾರನಿಗೆ ಮರಣ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು. ದಾಸತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಮಾಡಿ, ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ದ್ರೋಹದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನಲ್ಲಾ. ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಆ ದುಷ್ಟತ್ವವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಬೇಕು.
6 If thy brother, the sonne of thy mother, or thine owne sonne, or thy daughter, or the wife, that lyeth in thy bosome, or thy friend, which is as thine owne soule, intice thee secretly, saying, Let vs goe and serue other gods, (which thou hast not knowen, thou, I say, nor thy fathers)
೬ಒಡಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರಾಗಲಿ, ಮಗನಾಗಲಿ, ಮಗಳಾಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರಾಣಪ್ರಿಯಳಾದ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಲಿ, ಆಪ್ತಮಿತ್ರನಾಗಲಿ ಇತರ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ, “ನಿಮಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ಆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸೋಣ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರೆ,
7 Any of the gods of the people which are round about you, neere vnto thee or farre off from thee, from the one ende of the earth vnto ye other:
೭ಆ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಹತ್ತಿರವಿರುವ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳಾದರೂ, ದೂರವಾದವರ ದೇವರುಗಳಾದರೂ, ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಯಾವ ಭಾಗದವರ ದೇವರುಗಳಾದರೂ
8 Thou shalt not cosent vnto him, nor heare him, neither shall thine eye pitie him, nor shewe mercie, nor keepe him secret:
೮ನೀವು ಸಮ್ಮತಿಸಲೂ ಬಾರದು ಮತ್ತು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲೂಬಾರದು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಕನಿಕರಿಸಲೂಬಾರದು, ತಪ್ಪಿಸಲೂಬಾರದು, ಬಚ್ಚಿಡಲೂಬಾರದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಲೇಬೇಕು.
9 But thou shalt euen kill him: thine hand shall be first vpon him to put him to death, and then the handes of all the people.
೯ಆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವಾಗ ತಪ್ಪು ಕಂಡವನೇ ಮೊದಲು ಕೈಹಾಕಬೇಕು.
10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he dye (because he hath gone about to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of ye land of Egypt, from ye house of bondage)
೧೦ತರುವಾಯ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೈಹಾಕಲಿ, ದಾಸತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಮಾಡಿ, ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಶ್ರಯದಿಂದ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆದು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲೇಬೇಕು.
11 That all Israel may heare and feare, and doe no more any such wickednesse as this among you.
೧೧ಇದನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಅಂಥ ದುಷ್ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇರುವರು.
12 If thou shalt heare say (concerning any of thy cities which the Lord thy God hath giuen thee to dwell in)
೧೨ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೊಡುವ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ಊರಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ,
13 Wicked men are gone out from among you, and haue drawen away the inhabitants of their citie, saying, Let vs go and serue other gods, which ye haue not knowen,
೧೩ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಜನ ದುಷ್ಟರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ಇತರ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಊರಿನವರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿ, “ಆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸೋಣ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿದರೆ,
14 Then thou shalt seeke, and make searche and enquire diligently: and if it be true, and the thing certaine, that such abomination is wrought among you,
೧೪ಆ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಅಂತಹ ಅಸಹ್ಯಕಾರ್ಯವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದದ್ದು
15 Thou shalt euen slay the inhabitants of that citie with the edge of the sworde: destroy it vtterly, and all that is therein, and the cattel thereof with the edge of the sworde.
೧೫ನಿಜವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದರೆ ಆ ಊರನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನೂ, ದನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಡಬೇಕು.
16 And thou shalt gather all the spoyle of it into the middes of the streete thereof, and burne with fire the citie and all the spoyle thereof euery whit, vnto the Lord thy God: and it shall be an heape for euer: it shall not be built againe.
೧೬ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಗ್ರಾಮಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ಊರನ್ನೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಬೇಕು. ಅದು ಪುನಃ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಹಾಳುದಿಬ್ಬವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
17 And there shall cleaue nothing of ye damned thing to thine hand, that the Lord may turne from the fiercenes of his wrath, and shewe thee mercie, and haue compassion on thee and multiplie thee, as he hath sworne vnto thy fathers:
೧೭“ಕೇವಲ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೇ ಆಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ನೀವು ಗೊತ್ತು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವನ್ನಾದರೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು. ನಾನು ಈಗ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುವ ಆತನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಆತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
18 When thou shalt obey the voyce of the Lord thy God, and keepe all his commandements which I command thee this day, that thou do that which is right in the eyes of the Lord thy God.
೧೮ನೀವು ಹೀಗೆ ನಡೆದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟರೆ, ಆಗ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ರೋಷಾಗ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿಮಗೆ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಿ, ತಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವನು.
