Deuteronomy 12

1 These are the ordinances and the lawes, which ye shall obserue and doe in the lande (which the Lord God of thy fathers giueth thee to possesse it) as long as yee liue vpon the earth.

Dies sind die Satzungen und Rechte, auf deren Befolgung ihr in dem Lande, das dir Jahwe, der Gott deiner Väter, zum Besitze gegeben hat, allezeit achten sollt, so lange ihr auf Erden lebt.

2 Yee shall vtterly destroy all the places wherein the nations which ye shall possesse, serued their gods vpon the hie mountaines and vpon the hilles, and vnder euery greene tree.

Gänzlich sollt ihr alle die Stätten zerstören, woselbst die Völker, welche ihr vertreibt, ihre Götter verehrt haben, auf den hohen Bergen, auf den Hügeln und unter jedem grünen Baume.

3 Also ye shall ouerthrowe their altars, and breake downe their pillars, and burne their groues with fire: and ye shall hew downe ye grauen images of their gods, and abolish their names out of that place.

Stürzt ihre Altäre um, zertrümmert ihre Malsteine, verbrennt ihre heiligen Bäume, zerschlagt die Schnitzbilder ihrer Götter und vertilgt ihren Namen von jenen Stätten.

4 Ye shall not do so vnto ye Lord your God,

Ihr dürft nicht ebenso wie diese Völker verfahren in betreff der Verehrung Jahwes, eures Gottes;

5 But ye shall seeke the place which the Lord your God shall chose out of all your tribes, to put his Name there, and there to dwell, and thither thou shalt come,

sondern nur an die Stätte, welche Jahwe, euer Gott, aus allen euren Stämmen erwählen wird, um seinen Namen daselbst wohnen zu lassen, sollt ihr euch halten, und dorthin sollst du dich begeben.

6 And ye shall bring thither your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the offring of your hands, and your vowes, and your free offrings, and the first borne of your kine and of your sheepe.

Dorthin sollt ihr eure Brandopfer und Schlachtopfer, eure Zehnten und was ihr an Hebeopfern bringen wollt, eure Gelübde, eure freiwilligen Gaben und die Erstgeburten eurer Rinder und Schafe bringen.

7 And there ye shall eate before the Lord your God, and ye shall reioyce in all that yee put your hand vnto, both ye, and your housholdes, because the Lord thy God hath blessed thee.

Dort sollt ihr vor Jahwe, eurem Gotte, das Opfermahl halten und samt euren Familien fröhlich sein über alles, was ihr erworben habt, womit dich Jahwe, dein Gott, gesegnet hat.

8 Ye shall not doe after all these things that we doe here this day: that is, euery man whatsoeuer seemeth him good in his owne eyes.

Ihr dürft dann nicht thun, wie wir jetzt hier ein jeder nach seinem Belieben zu thun pflegen;

9 For ye are not yet come to rest, and to the inheritance which the Lord thy God giueth thee.

denn bis jetzt seid ihr noch nicht zur Ruhe und zu dem Besitze gelangt, den dir Jahwe, dein Gott, verleihen will.

10 But when ye goe ouer Iorden, and dwell in ye land, which the Lord your God hath giuen you to inherit, and when he hath giue you rest from al your enemies round about, and yee dwel in safetie,

Aber wenn ihr den Jordan überschritten und in dem Lande Wohnung genommen habt, das Jahwe, euer Gott, euch zum Eigentume giebt, und wenn er euch vor allen euren Feinden ringsum Ruhe verschafft hat, so daß ihr sicher wohnt,

11 When there shalbe a place which the Lord your God shall chose, to cause his name to dwell there, thither shall yee bring all that I commaund you: your burnt offrings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the offring of your hands, and all your speciall vowes which ye vowe vnto the Lord:

dann soll die Stätte, die Jahwe, euer Gott, erwählt, um seinen Namen daselbst wohnen zu lassen, allein es sein, wohin ihr alles bringt, was ich euch befehle: eure Brandopfer und Schlachtopfer, eure Zehnten und was ihr an Hebeopfern bringen wollt, und alle eure auserlesenen Gelübdeopfer, die ihr Jahwe gelobt habt.

12 And ye shall reioyce before the Lord your God, yee, and your sonnes and your daughters, and your seruaunts, and your maidens, and the Leuite that is within your gates: for hee hath no part nor inheritance with you.

Und ihr sollt vor Jahwe, eurem Gotte, fröhlich sein, ihr und eure Söhne und Töchter, eure Sklaven und Sklavinnen, samt dem Leviten, der in euren Ortschaften wohnt, weil er keinen Landanteil noch Erbbesitz bei euch hat.

13 Take heede that thou offer not thy burnt offrings in euery place that thou seest:

Hüte dich, deine Brandopfer an jeder beliebigen Stätte darzubringen;

14 But in ye place which the Lord shall chose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offrings, and there thou shalt doe all that I commaund thee.

sondern nur an der Stätte, die Jahwe in einem deiner Stämme erwählen wird, dort sollst du deine Brandopfer darbringen und dort alles das verrichten, was ich dir befehle.

15 Notwithstanding thou maiest kill and eate flesh in all thy gates, whatsoeuer thine heart desireth, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath giuen thee: both the vncleane and the cleane may eate thereof, as of the roe bucke, and of the hart.

Doch darfst du nach Herzenslust in allen deinen Ortschaften schlachten und Fleisch essen, so viel dir durch den Segen Jahwes, deines Gottes, gegeben ist; der Unreine, wie der Reine darf davon essen, wie bei einer Gazelle oder bei einem Hirsch.

16 Onely ye shall not eat the blood, but powre it vpon the earth as water.

Nur das Blut dürft ihr nicht genießen; auf die Erde mußt du es fließen lassen wie Wasser.

17 Thou maist nor eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corne, nor of thy wine, nor of thine oyle, nor the first borne of thy kine, nor of thy sheep, neither any of thy vowes which thou vowest, nor thy free offerings, nor the offering of thine hands,

Aber nicht darfst du in deinen Ortschaften den Zehnten deines Getreides oder Mostes oder Öls verzehren, noch die Erstgeburten deiner Kinder oder Schafe, noch irgend eines deiner Gelübdeopfer, die du gelobt hast, noch deine freiwilligen Gaben, noch etwas, was du als Hebeopfer darbringst,

18 But thou shalt eate it before the Lord thy God, in the place which the Lord thy God shall chuse, thou, and thy sonne, and thy daughter, and thy seruat, and thy maid, and the Leuite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt reioyce before the Lord thy God, in all that thou puttest thine hand to.

sondern nur vor Jahwe, deinem Gott, an der Stätte, die Jahwe, dein Gott, erwählen wird, kannst du es verzehren, du, dein Sohn, deine Tochter, dein Sklave und deine Sklavin, samt dem Leviten, der sich an deinem Wohnort aufhält, und sollst über alles, was du erworben hast, vor Jahwe, deinem Gotte, fröhlich sein.

19 Beware, that thou forsake not the Leuite, as long as thou liuest vpon the earth.

Hüte dich, daß du den Leviten nicht im Stiche lässest, so lange du in deinem Lande lebst!

20 When the Lord thy God shall enlarge thy border, as hee hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I wil eate flesh, (because thine heart longeth to eate flesh) thou maiest eate flesh, whatsoeuer thine heart desireth.

Wenn dir Jahwe, dein Gott, wie er dir verheißen hat, dein Gebiet erweitert und du sprichst: Ich möchte Fleisch essen! weil dich nach Fleischgenuß gelüstet, so magst du nach Herzenslust Fleisch essen.

21 If the place which the Lord thy God hath chosen to put his Name there, be farre from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy bullockes, and of thy sheepe which the Lord hath giuen thee, as I haue commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates, whatsoeuer thine heart desireth.

Wenn die Stätte, die Jahwe, dein Gott, erwählt, um seinen Namen daselbst wohnen zu lassen, zu weit von dir entfernt ist, so schlachte, wie ich dir geboten habe, von deinen Rindern und Schafen, die dir Jahwe gegeben hat, und iß davon an deinem Wohnorte nach Herzenslust.

22 Euen as the roe bucke, and the hart is eaten, so shalt thou eat them. both the vncleane and the cleane shall eate of them alike.

Nur sollst du es ebenso essen, wie Gazellen- und Hirschfleisch gegessen wird; der Unreine so gut, wie der Reine mögen davon essen.

23 Onely bee sure that thou eate not the blood: for the blood is the life, and thou maiest not eate the life with the flesh.

Allein sei fest, daß du dich ganz des Bluts enthaltest; denn das Blut ist das Leben, und du darfst nicht zugleich mit dem Fleisch auch das Leben verzehren.

24 Therefore thou shalt not eat it, but powre it vpon the earth as water.

Du darfst es nicht genießen; auf die Erde mußt du es fließen lassen wie Wasser.

25 Thou shalt not eat it, that it may go well with thee; and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt doe that which is right in the sight of the Lord:

Du darfst es nicht genießen, damit es dir und deinen Kindern nach dir wohl gehe, wenn du thust, was vor Jahwe recht ist.

26 But thine holy things which thou hast, and thy vowes thou shalt take vp, and come vnto the place which the Lord shall chuse.

Aber was du an heiligen Gaben zu bringen hast und deine Gelübdeopfer sollst du zu der Stätte, die Jahwe erwählen wird, hintragen

27 And thou shalt make thy burnt offerings of the flesh, and of the blood vpon the altar of the Lord thy God, and the blood of thine offerings shall bee powred vpon the altar of the Lord thy God, and thou shalt eate the flesh.

und auf dem Altare Jahwes, deines Gottes, deine Brandopfer, das Fleisch und das Blut, herrichten, während von deinen Schlachtopfern das Blut auf den Altar Jahwes, deines Gottes, auszugießen ist, das Fleisch aber du essen darfst.

28 Take heede, and heare all these woordes which I commaund thee, that it may goe well with thee, and with thy children after thee for euer, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God.

Beobachte und befolge alle diese Gebote, die ich dir gebe, damit es dir und deinen Kindern nach dir immerdar wohl gehe, wenn du thust, was vor Jahwe, deinem Gotte, gut und recht ist.

29 When the Lord thy God shall destroy the nations before thee, whither thou goest to possesse them, and thou shalt possesse them and dwell in their lande,

Wenn Jahwe, dein Gott, die Völker vor dir ausrottet, zu deren Vertreibung du dorthin ziehst, und wenn du sie vertrieben und in ihrem Lande Wohnung genommen hast,

30 Beware, lest thou be taken in a snare after them, after that they be destroied before thee, and lest thou aske after their gods, saying, Howe did these nations serue their gods, that I may doe so likewise?

so hüte dich, daß du nicht, nachdem sie vor dir vertilgt sind, dich bestricken lässest, es ihnen nachzuthun, und daß du dich nicht nach ihren Göttern erkundigst, indem du fragst: Wie pflegten doch diese Völker ihre Götter zu verehren, daß ich auch so verfahre?

31 Thou shalt not doe so vnto the Lord thy God: for al abomination, which the Lord hateth, haue they done vnto their gods: for they haue burned both their sonnes and their daughters with fire to their gods.

Du darfst in betreff der Verehrung Jahwes, deines Gottes, nicht so verfahren. Denn alles, was Jahwe ein Greuel ist, was er haßt, haben sie gegenüber ihren Göttern gethan; verbrennen sie doch ihren Göttern sogar ihre Söhne und Töchter.

32 Therefore whatsoeuer I command you, take heede you doe it: thou shalt put nothing thereto, nor take ought therefrom.

Ihr sollt auf die Befolgung aller der Gebote, die ich euch gebe, achten, ohne daß du etwas hinzufügst oder davon thust.
