Daniel 9
1 In the first yeere of Darius the sonne of Ahashuerosh, of the seede of the Medes, which was made King ouer the realme of the Caldeans,
En la première année de Darius, fils d’Assuérus, de la race des Mèdes, qui régna sur le royaume des Chaldéens;
2 Euen in the first yeere of his reigne, I Daniel vnderstood by bookes the nomber of the yeeres, whereof the Lord had spoken vnto Ieremiah the Prophet, that he would accomplish seuentie yeeres in the desolation of Ierusalem.
La première année de son règne, moi, Daniel, je compris dans les livres le nombre des années, au sujet duquel la parole du Seigneur avait été adressée à Jérémie, le prophète, afin que fussent accomplis les soixante et dix ans de la désolation de Jérusalem.
3 And I turned my face vnto the Lord God, and sought by prayer and supplications with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.
Et je posai ma face vers le Seigneur mon Dieu, pour prier et supplier dans les jeûnes, le sac et la cendre.
4 And I prayed vnto the Lord my God, and made my confession, saying, Oh Lord God, which art great and fearefull, and keepest couenant and mercy toward them which loue thee, and toward them that keepe thy commandements,
Et je priai le Seigneur mon Dieu, et je confessai mes fautes, et dis: Je vous conjure. Seigneur, Dieu grand et terrible, qui gardez l’alliance et la miséricorde à ceux qui vous aiment et qui gardent vos commandements.
5 We haue sinned, and haue committed iniquitie and haue done wickedly, yea, we haue rebelled, and haue departed from thy precepts, and from thy iudgements.
Nous avons péché, nous avons commis l’iniquité, nous avons agi avec impiété, et nous nous sommes retirés, et nous nous sommes détournés de vos commandements et de vos jugements.
6 For we would not obey thy seruants the Prophets, which spake in thy Name to our Kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Nous n’avons pas obéi à vos serviteurs les prophètes, qui ont parlé en votre nom à nos rois, à nos princes, à nos pères, et à tout le peuple de la terre.
7 O Lord, righteousnes belongeth vnto thee, and vnto vs open shame, as appeareth this day vnto euery man of Iudah, and to the inhabitants of Ierusalem: yea, vnto all Israel, both neere and farre off, through all the countreys, whither thou hast driuen them, because of their offences, that they haue committed against thee.
À vous, Seigneur, la justice, et à nous la confusion du visage, comme elle est aujourd’hui à l’homme de Juda, et aux habitants de Jérusalem, et à tout Israël; à ceux qui sont près et à ceux qui sont loin, dans toutes les terres où vous les avez jetés à cause de leurs iniquités par lesquelles ils ont péché contre vous.
8 O Lord, vnto vs apperteineth open shame, to our Kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we haue sinned against thee.
Seigneur, à nous la confusion du visage, et à nos rois, et à nos princes, et à nos pères qui ont péché.
9 Yet compassion and forgiuenesse is in the Lord our God, albeit we haue rebelled against him.
Mais à vous, Seigneur notre Dieu, la miséricorde et la propitiation, parce que nous nous sommes retirés de vous;
10 For we haue not obeyed the voyce of the Lord our God, to walke in his lawes, which he had laide before vs by the ministerie of his seruants the Prophets.
Et nous n’avons pas écouté la voix du Seigneur notre Dieu, afin de marcher dans sa loi qu’il nous a donnée par ses serviteurs les prophètes.
11 Yea, all Israel haue transgressed thy Lawe, and are turned backe, and haue not heard thy voyce: therefore the curse is powred vpon vs, and the othe that is written in the Lawe of Moses the seruant of God, because we haue sinned against him.
Et tout Israël a prévariqué contre votre loi, et il s’est détourné pour ne pas écouter votre voix; et la malédiction a distillé sur nous, et l’exécration qui est écrite dans le livre de Moïse, serviteur de Dieu, parce que nous avons péché contre lui;
12 And he hath confirmed his wordes, which he spake against vs, and against our iudges that iudged vs, by bringing vpon vs a great plague: for vnder the whole heauen hath not bene the like, as hath bene brought vpon Ierusalem.
Et il a confirmé ses paroles qu’il a dites sur nous, et sur nos princes qui nous ont jugés, afin de faire venir sur nous un grand mal, tel qu’il n’en fut jamais sous le ciel, comme celui qui a été fait en Jérusalem.
13 All this plague is come vpon vs, as it is written in the Lawe of Moses: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turne from our iniquities and vnderstand thy trueth.
Comme il est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, tout ce mal est venu sur nous; et nous n’avons pas prié votre face. Seigneur notre Dieu, afin de revenir de nos iniquités, et de méditer votre vérité.
14 Therefore hath the Lord made ready the plague, and brought it vpon vs: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we would not heare his voyce.
Et le Seigneur a veillé sur le mal, et l’a amené sur nous; il est juste, le Seigneur notre Dieu, en toutes ses œuvres qu’il a faites; car nous n’avons pas écouté sa voix.
15 And nowe, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people out of the land of Egypt with a mightie hand, and hast gotten thee renoume, as appeareth this day, we haue sinned, we haue done wickedly.
Et maintenant, Seigneur notre Dieu, qui avez tiré votre peuple de la terre d’Egypte par une main puissante, et qui vous êtes fait un nom comme il est aujourd’hui, nous avons péché, nous avons commis l’iniquité.
16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousnes, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy wrath be turned away from thy citie Ierusalem thine holy Mountaine: for because of our sinnes, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Ierusalem and thy people are a reproche to all that are about vs.
Seigneur, par toute votre justice, je vous conjure, que votre colère et votre fureur soient détournées de votre cité, Jérusalem, et de votre montagne sainte. Car c’est à cause de nos péchés et des iniquités de nos pères, que Jérusalem et votre peuple sont en opprobre à tous autour de nous.
17 Nowe therefore, O our God, heare the prayer of thy serunant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine vpon thy Sanctuarie, that lyeth waste for the Lords sake.
Maintenant donc exaucez, ô notre Dieu, la prière de votre serviteur et ses supplications; et montrez votre face sur votre sanctuaire, qui est désolé, à cause de vous-même.
18 O my God, encline thine eare and heare: open thine eyes, and beholde our desolations, and the citie whereupon thy Name is called: for we doe not present our supplications before thee for our owne righteousnes, but for thy great tender mercies.
Inclinez, ô mon Dieu, votre oreille, et écoutez; ouvrez vos yeux et voyez notre désolation, et la cité sur laquelle votre nom a été invoqué; car ce n’est pas en vue de notre justice que, prosternés, nous répandons nos prières devant votre face, mais en vue de vos miséricordes abondantes.
19 O Lord, heare, O Lord forgiue, O Lord consider, and doe it: deferre not, for thine owne sake, O my God: for thy Name is called vpon thy citie, and vpon thy people.
Exaucez-nous, Seigneur; apaisez-vous, Seigneur; soyez attentif et agissez; ne tardez pas, à cause de vous-même, ô mon Dieu; parce que votre nom a été invoqué sur la cité et sur votre peuple.
20 And whiles I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sinne, and the sinne of my people Israel, and did present my supplication before the Lord my God, for the holy Mountaine of my God,
Et comme je parlais encore, et que je priais, et que je confessais mes péchés et les péchés de mon peuple Israël, et que prosterné, je répandais mes prières en la présence de mon Dieu, pour la montagne sainte de mon Dieu;
21 Yea, while I was speaking in prayer, euen the man Gabriel, whome I had seene before in the vision, came flying, and touched mee about the time of the euening oblation.
Moi parlant encore dans ma prière, voilà que l’homme Gabriel, que j’avais vu dans la vision, au commencement, volant vite, me toucha au temps du sacrifice du soir.
22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and sayd, O Daniel, I am now come forth to giue thee knowledge and vnderstanding.
Et il m’instruisit, et il me parla, et dit: Daniel, maintenant je suis sorti afin de t’instruire, et que tu comprennes.
23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandement came foorth, and I am come to shewe thee, for thou art greatly beloued: therefore vnderstande the matter and consider the vision.
Dès le commencement de tes prières est sortie une parole; mais moi je suis venu pour te la faire connaître, parce que tu es un homme de désirs; toi donc, sois attentif à cette parole, et comprends la vision.
24 Seuentie weekes are determined vpon thy people and vpon thine holy citie, to finish the wickednes, and to seale vp the sinnes, and to reconcile the inquitie, and to bring in euerlasting righteousnesse, and to seale vp the vision and prophecie, and to anoynt the most Holy.
Soixante-dix semaines ont été abrégées pour ton peuple et pour ta ville sainte, afin que soit abolie la prévarication, et que prenne fin le péché, et que soit effacée l’iniquité, et que vienne la justice éternelle, et que soient accomplies la vision et la prophétie, et que soit oint le saint des saints.
25 Knowe therefore and vnderstande, that from the going foorth of the commandement to bring againe the people, and to builde Ierusalem, vnto Messiah the prince, shall be seuen weekes and threescore and two weekes, and the streete shalbe built againe, and the wall euen in a troublous time.
Sache donc, et remarque bien: Depuis que sortira la parole pour que de nouveau soit bâtie Jérusalem, jusqu’au Christ chef, il y aura sept semaines et soixante-deux semaines, et de nouveau sera bâtie la place publique et les murailles dans les temps difficiles.
26 And after threescore and two weekes, shall Messiah be slaine, and shall haue nothing, and the people of the prince that shall come, shall destroy the citie and the Sanctuarie, and the end thereof shalbe with a flood: and vnto the end of the battell it shalbe destroyed by desolations.
Et après soixante-deux semaines, le Christ sera mis à mort; et il ne sera pas son peuple, le peuple qui doit le renier. Et un peuple, avec un chef qui doit venir, détruira la cité et le sanctuaire; et sa fin sera la dévastation, et après la fin de la guerre, la désolation décrétée.
27 And he shall confirme the couenant with many for one weeke: and in the middes of the weeke he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the ouerspreading of the abominations, he shall make it desolate, euen vntill the consummation determined shalbe powred vpon the desolate.
Mais il confirmera son alliance avec un grand nombre dans une semaine; et au milieu de la semaine cesseront l’oblation et le sacrifice; et l’abomination de la désolation sera dans le temple, et la désolation continuera jusqu’à la consommation et à la fin.
