Daniel 4

1 Nebuchad-nezzar King vnto all people, nations and languages, that dwell in all the world, Peace be multiplied vnto you:

राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र की ओर से, सारी पृथ्वी पर रहनेवाले जाति-जाति और हर भाषा के लोगों को यह वचन: आप सब की बहुत उन्‍नति हो!

2 I thought it good to declare the signes and wonders, that the hie God hath wrought toward me.

सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर द्वारा मेरे लिये किए गए उन अद्भुत चिन्हों और आश्चर्य कर्मों के बारे में तुम्हें बताते हुए मुझे खुशी हो रही है.

3 How great are his signes, and how mightie are his wonders! his kingdome is an euerlasting kingdome, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

क्या ही बड़े हैं उसके दिखाए चिन्ह,

4 I Nebuchad-nezzar being at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace,

मैं, नबूकदनेज्ज़र अपने महल में संतुष्ट और सम्पन्‍न था.

5 Saw a dreame, which made me afraide, and the thoughtes vpon my bed, and the visions of mine head troubled me.

मैंने एक स्वप्न देखा, जिससे मैं भयभीत हो गया. जब मैं अपने पलंग पर लेटा हुआ था, तो जो चित्र और दर्शन मेरे मन में आये, उनसे मैं भयभीत हो गया.

6 Therefore made I a decree, that they should bring all the wise men of Babel before mee, that they might declare vnto me the interpretation of the dreame.

इसलिये मैंने आज्ञा दी कि बाबेल के सारे बुद्धिमान लोग मेरे सामने लाए जाएं कि वे मेरे स्वप्न का अर्थ बताएं.

7 So came the inchanters, the astrologians, the Caldeans and the sothsayers, to whom I tolde the dreame, but they could not shew me the interpretation thereof,

जब जादूगर, टोन्हे, तांत्रिक, ज्योतिषी और दैवीय शक्तिवाले मेरे पास आये, तो मैंने उन्हें अपना स्वप्न बताया, पर वे मुझको उसका अर्थ नहीं बता सके.

8 Till at the last Daniel came before mee, (whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, which hath the spirite of the holy gods in him) and before him I tolde the dreame, saying,

आखिर में, दानिएल मेरे सामने आया और मैंने उसे अपना स्वप्न बताया. (उसका नाम मेरे देवता के नाम से बैलशत्सर रखा गया है, और पवित्र देवताओं की आत्मा उसमें है.)

9 O Belteshazzar, chiefe of the enchanters, because I know, that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell mee the visions of my dreame, that I haue seene and the interpretation thereof.

मैंने कहा, “हे बैलशत्सर, जादूगरों का मुखिया, मैं जानता हूं कि पवित्र देवताओं की आत्मा तुममें है और कोई भी रहस्य तुम्हारे लिये कठिन नहीं है. यह मेरा स्वप्न है; मुझे इसका अर्थ बताओ.

10 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed. And beholde, I sawe a tree in the middes of the earth and the height thereof was great:

ये वे दर्शन हैं जिन्हें मैंने पलंग पर लेटे हुए देखा: मैंने देखा कि पृथ्वी के बीच एक पेड़ लगा है. वह बहुत ऊंचा था.

11 A great tree and strong, and the height thereof reached vnto heauen, and the sight thereof to the endes of all the earth.

वह पेड़ बड़ा होकर मजबूत हो गया और इसका सिरा आकाश को छूने लगा; इसे सारी पृथ्वी के छोर से भी देखा जा सकता था.

12 The boughes thereof were faire and the fruite thereof much, and in it was meate for all: it made a shadow vnder it for the beastes of the fielde, and the foules of the heauen dwelt in the boughes thereof, and all flesh fedde of it.

इसकी पत्तियां सुंदर थी और इसमें बहुत सारे फल लगे थे, और इसमें सबके लिये भोजन था. इसके नीचे जंगली जानवर रहते थे, और आकाश के पक्षी इसकी शाखाओं पर बसेरा करते थे; इसमें से हर एक जीव-जन्तु भोजन पाते थे.

13 I sawe in the visions of mine head vpon my bed, and beholde, a watchman and an holy one came downe from heauen,

“पलंग पर लेटे हुए मैंने दर्शन में देखा कि स्वर्ग से एक पवित्र जन, एक संदेशवाहक नीचे आ रहा था.

14 And cried aloude, and said thus, Hew downe the tree, and breake off his branches: shake off his leaues, and scatter his fruite, that the beastes may flee from vnder it, and the foules from his branches.

उसने ऊंची आवाज में कहा: ‘काट डालो इस पेड़ को और इसकी शाखाओं को अलग कर दो; इसकी पत्तियों को गिरा दो और इसके फल को बिखरा दो. जानवर इसके नीचे से भाग जाएं और चिड़िया इसकी शाखाओं से उड़ जाएं.

15 Neuerthelesse leaue the stumpe of his rootes in the earth, and with a band of yron and brasse binde it among the grasse of the fielde, and let it be wet with the dewe of heauen, and let his portion be with the beastes among the grasse of the fielde.

पर पेड़ के ठूंठ और इसकी जड़ों को लोहे और कांसा से बंधे रहकर ज़मीन के घास पर, भूमि में रहने दो. “‘उसे आकाश की ओस से भीगने दो, और उसे पृथ्वी के पौधों के बीच जानवरों के साथ रहने दो.

16 Let his heart be changed from mans nature, and let a beasts heart be giuen vnto him, and let seuen times be passed ouer him.

उसका मन बदल दिया जाए और एक मनुष्य के समान उसका मन न रहे और उसे सात कालखण्ड बीतने तक एक जानवर का मन दिया जाए.

17 The sentence is according to the decree of the watchmen, and according to the word of the holy ones: the demaunde was answered, to the intent that liuing men may knowe, that the most High hath power ouer the kingdome of men, and giueth it to whomsoeuer he will, and appointeth ouer it the most abiect among men.

“‘इस निर्णय का ऐलान संदेशवाहकों के द्वारा किया जाता है, पवित्र जन इस निर्णय की घोषणा करते हैं, ताकि जीवित लोग इस बात को जानें कि वह जो सर्वोच्च हैं, वे ही पृथ्वी पर सब राज्यों के ऊपर परम प्रधान हैं और वे जिसे चाहते हैं, उसे उन राज्यों को दे देते हैं और छोटे से छोटे व्यक्ति को उनके ऊपर नियुक्त कर देते हैं.’

18 This is the dreame, that I King Nebuchad-nezzar haue seene: therefore thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof: for all the wisemen of my kingdome are not able to shewe mee the interpretation: but thou art able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

“यही है वह स्वप्न जिसे मैं, राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने देखा. अब, हे बैलशत्सर, मुझे बताओ कि इसका क्या अर्थ है, क्योंकि मेरे राज्य का कोई भी बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति मुझे इसका अर्थ नहीं बता सकता. पर तुम बता सकते हो, क्योंकि तुममें पवित्र देवताओं की आत्मा है.”

19 Then Daniel (whose name was Belteshazzar) held his peace by the space of one houre, and his thoughts troubled him, and the King spake and said, Belteshazzar, let neither the dreame, nor the interpretation thereof trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and saide, My lord, the dreame be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

तब दानिएल (जिसे बैलशत्सर भी कहा जाता था) थोड़ी देर के लिये व्याकुल हो गया, और उसके विचार उसे भयभीत करने लगे. इसलिये राजा ने कहा, “हे बैलशत्सर, मेरे स्वप्न या इसके अर्थ से भयभीत न हो.” बैलशत्सर ने उत्तर दिया, “हे मेरे प्रभु, काश, यह स्वप्न सिर्फ आपके शत्रुओं और इसका अर्थ आपके विरोधियों पर लागू होता!

20 The tree that thou sawest, which was great and mightie, whose height reached vnto the heauen, and the sight thereof through all the world,

वह पेड़ जिसे आपने देखा, जो बड़ा होकर मजबूत हो गया, जिसका सिरा आकाश को छूने लगा था, और जिसे सारी पृथ्वी से देखा जा सकता था,

21 Whose leaues were faire and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meate for all, vnder the which the beastes of the fielde dwelt, and vpon whose branches the foules of the heauen did sit,

जिसकी पत्तियां सुंदर और जिसमें बहुत सारे फल थे, जिससे सबको भोजन मिलता था, जो जंगली जानवरों को आश्रय देता था, और चिड़ियां जिसकी शाखाओं पर घोंसला बनाती थीं—

22 It is thou, O King, that art great and mightie: for thy greatnesse is growen, and reacheth vnto heauen, and thy dominion to the endes of the earth.

हे महाराज, वह पेड़ आप हैं! आप बड़े और मजबूत हो गये हैं; आपकी महानता इतनी हो गई है कि यह आकाश को छूने लगी है, और आपका राज्य पृथ्वी में दूर-दूर तक फैल गया है.

23 Where as the King sawe a watchman, and an holy one, that came downe from heauen, and said, Hew downe the tree and destroy it, yet leaue the stumpe of the rootes thereof in the earth, and with a bande of yron and brasse binde it among the grasse of the fielde, and let it be wette with the dewe of heauen, and let his portion be with the beastes of the fielde, till seuen times passe ouer him,

“हे महाराज, आपने एक पवित्र जन, एक संदेशवाहक को स्वर्ग से नीचे उतरते हुए देखा जो यह कह रहा था, ‘इस पेड़ को काट डालो और इसे नष्ट कर दो, पर इसके ठूंठ को, लोहा और कांसा से बंधे हुए ज़मीन के घांस में रहने दो तथा इसके जड़ों को भूमि में छोड़ दो. उसे आकाश की ओस से भीगने दो; उसे जंगली जानवरों के साथ रहने दो, जब तक कि उसके लिये सात कालखण्ड पूरे न हो जाएं.’

24 This is the interpretation, O King, and it is the decree of the most High, which is come vpon my lord the King,

“हे महाराज, यह उसका अर्थ है, और यह वह फैसला है, जिसे सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर ने मेरे प्रभु राजा के विरुद्ध दिया है:

25 That they shall driue thee from men, and thy dwelling shalbe with the beasts of the fielde: they shall make thee to eate grasse as the oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dewe of heauen: and seuen times shall passe ouer thee, till thou knowe, that the most High beareth rule ouer the kingdome of men, and giueth it to whom so euer he will.

आपको लोगों के बीच से भगा दिया जाएगा और आप जंगली जानवरों के साथ रहेंगे; आप बैल की तरह घांस खाएंगे और आकाश की ओस से भीगेंगे. सात कालखण्ड के बीतने तक आप इसी स्थिति में रहेंगे, और तब आप यह मान लेंगे कि पृथ्वी पर सारे राज्यों के ऊपर सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर ही परम प्रधान हैं और वे जिसे चाहते हैं उसे ये राज्य दे देते हैं.

26 Where as they sayd, that one should leaue the stumpe of the tree rootes, thy kingdome shall remaine vnto thee: after that, thou shalt knowe, that the heauens haue the rule.

पेड़ के ठूंठ को इसके जड़ों सहित छोड़ने की जो आज्ञा दी गई है, उसका अर्थ यह है कि आपको आपका राज्य लौटा दिया जाएगा, जब आप यह बात मान लेंगे कि स्वर्ग ही शासन करता है.

27 Wherefore, O King, let my counsell be acceptable vnto thee, and breake off thy sinnes by righteousnes, and thine iniquities by mercy toward the poore: lo, let there be an healing of thine errour.

इसलिये, हे महाराज, खुशी से मेरी सलाह को मान लीजिये: आप अपने पापों को छोड़कर भले काम करिये, और दुष्टता को छोड़कर सताये हुए लोगों पर दया कीजिये. तब यह हो सकता है कि आपकी समृद्धि होने लगे.”

28 All these things shall come vpon the King Nebuchad-nezzar.

ये सब बातें राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र के साथ हुई.

29 At the end of twelue moneths, he walked in the royall palace of Babel.

बारह महीनों के बाद, जब राजा बाबेल के राजमहल के छत पर टहल रहा था,

30 And the King spake and sayde, Is not this great Babel, that I haue built for the house of the kingdome by the might of my power, and for the honour of my maiestie?

तब उसने कहा, “क्या यह वह बड़ा बाबेल नहीं है, जिसे मैंने अपने बड़े शक्ति से शाही निवास के रूप में अपने वैभव की महिमा के लिये बनाया है?”

31 While the worde was in the Kings mouth, a voyce came downe from heauen, saying, O King Nebuchad-nezzar, to thee be it spoken, Thy kingdome is departed from thee,

अभी राजा के ये वचन उसके मुंह से निकले भी नहीं थे कि स्वर्ग से एक आवाज आई, “हे राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र, तुम्हारे लिए यह फैसला किया जाता है: तुम्हारा शाही अधिकार तुमसे छीन लिया गया है.

32 And they shall driue thee from men, and thy dwelling shalbe with the beastes of the fielde: they shall make thee to eate grasse, as the oxen, and seuen times shall passe ouer thee, vntill thou knowest, that the most High beareth rule ouer the kingdome of men, and giueth it vnto whomsoeuer he will.

तुम्हें लोगों के बीच से भगा दिया जाएगा और तुम जंगली जानवरों के साथ रहोगे; तुम बैल की तरह घांस खाओगे. इसी स्थिति में तुम्हारे लिये सात कालखण्ड बीतेगा और तब तुम यह मान लोगे कि सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर ही पृथ्वी पर सब राज्यों के ऊपर परम प्रधान हैं और वे जिसे चाहते हैं उसे इन राज्यों को दे देते हैं.”

33 The very same houre was this thing fulfilled vpon Nebuchad-nezzar, and hee was driuen from men, and did eate grasse as the oxen, and his body was wet with the dewe of heauen, till his heares were growen as eagles feathers, and his nailes like birds clawes.

नबूकदनेज्ज़र के बारे में जो बात कही गई, वह उसी घड़ी पूरी हो गई. उसे लोगों के बीच से भगा दिया गया और वह बैल की तरह घांस खाने लगा. उसका शरीर आकाश की ओस से भीगता था, यहां तक कि उसके बाल बढ़कर गरुड़ के पंखों के समान और उसके नाखून चिड़ियों के पंजों के समान हो गये.

34 And at the ende of these dayes I Nebuchad-nezzar lift vp mine eyes vnto heauen, and mine vnderstanding was restored vnto me, and I gaue thankes vnto the most High, and I praysed and honoured him that liueth for euer, whose power is an euerlasting power, and his kingdome is from generation to generation.

निर्धारित समय के अंत में, मैं, नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने स्वर्ग की ओर अपनी दृष्टि उठाई, और मेरी मानसिक अवस्था फिर पहले जैसे हो गई. तब मैंने सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर की महिमा की; मैंने उसका आदर और प्रशंसा किया, जो सदाकाल तक जीवित रहता है.

35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and according to his will he worketh in the armie of heauen, and in the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, nor say vnto him, What doest thou?

पृथ्वी के सारे लोगों का

36 At the same time was mine vnderstanding restored vnto me, and I returned to the honour of my kingdome: my glory and my beautie was restored vnto me, and my counsellours and my princes sought vnto me, and I was established in my kingdome, and my glory was augmented toward me.

जिस समय मेरी मानसिक अवस्था पहले जैसी हो गई, उसी समय मेरा सम्मान और वैभव भी मेरे राज्य के गौरव हेतु मेरे पास लौट आया. मेरे सलाहकारों और कुलीन लोगों ने मुझे ढूंढ़ निकाला, और मुझे फिर से मेरे सिंहासन पर बैठाया गया और मैं पहले से भी ज्यादा महान हो गया.

37 Now therefore I Nebuchad-nezzar prayse and extoll and magnifie the King of heauen, whose workes are all trueth, and his wayes iudgement, and those that walke in pride, he is able to abase.

अब मैं, नबूकदनेज्ज़र स्वर्ग के राजा की स्तुति, महिमा और प्रशंसा करता हूं, क्योंकि वे जो भी करते हैं, सही करते हैं और उनके सब युक्तियां न्याय संगत होती हैं. और जो घमंड से चलते हैं, उन्हें वह नम्र बनाने में समर्थ है.
