Daniel 10
1 In the third yeere of Cyrus King of Persia, a thing was reueiled vnto Daniel (whose name was called Belteshazzar) and the worde was true, but the time appointed was long, and he vnderstood the thing, and had vnderstanding of the vision.
La troisième année de Coresch, roi de Perse, une parole fut révélée à Daniel qui portait le nom de Beltsazar; et cette parole est une vérité, et a une grande calamité pour objet. Et il fut attentif à cette révélation, et il eut l'intelligence de la vision.
2 At the same time I Daniel was in heauines for three weekes of dayes.
En ce même temps, moi Daniel, je fus dans le deuil pendant trois semaines.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint my selfe at all, till three weekes of dayes were fulfilled.
Je ne mangeai point de pain délicat, et ni viande ni vin n'entra dans ma bouche, et je ne m'oignis point jusqu'à l'expiration des trois semaines.
4 And in the foure and twentieth day of the first moneth, as I was by the side of that great riuer, euen Hiddekel,
Et le vingt-quatrième jour du premier mois, j'étais sur le rivage du grand fleuve Hiddékel.
5 And I lift vp mine eyes, and looked, and beholde, there was a man clothed in linnen, whose loynes were girded with fine golde of Vphaz.
Et je levai les yeux, et je regardai, et voici, il y avait là un homme vêtu de lin, et ayant aux reins une ceinture d'or d'Uphaz.
6 His body also was like the Chrysolite, and his face (to looke vpon) like the lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his armes and his feete were like in colour to polished brasse, and the voyce of his wordes was like the voyce of a multitude.
Et son corps était comme le chrysolithe, et son visage avait l'aspect de l'éclair, et ses yeux étaient comme des flambeaux allumés, et ses bras et la région de ses pieds avaient l'aspect de l'airain poli, et le son de ses paroles était comme la voix d'une foule en rumeur.
7 And I Daniel alone sawe the vision: for the men that were with me, sawe not the vision: but a great feare fell vpon them, so that they fled away and hid themselues.
Et moi Daniel, j'étais seul à voir la vision, et les hommes qui m'accompagnaient, n'apercevaient point la vision; mais un grand effroi les saisit, et ils fuirent en se dérobant.
8 Therefore I was left alone, and sawe this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my strength was turned in me into corruption, and I reteined no power.
Et je restai seul, et je vis cette grande vision; mais il ne me resta point de force, et je changeai de couleur à être défiguré, et je ne conservai aucune force.
9 Yet heard I the voyce of his wordes: and when I heard the voyce of his wordes, I slept on my face: and my face was toward the ground.
Et j'entendis le son de ses paroles, et à l'ouïe du son de ses paroles je tombai tout étourdi sur mon visage, et mon visage toucha la terre.
10 And behold, an hand touched me, which set me vp vpon my knees and vpon the palmes of mine hands.
Mais voici, une main me toucha, et soutint mes genoux vacillants et mes mains.
11 And he sayde vnto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloued, vnderstand the wordes that I speake vnto thee, and stand in thy place: for vnto thee am I nowe sent. And when hee had sayde this worde vnto me, I stood trembling.
Et il me dit: Daniel, homme chéri, sois attentif aux paroles que je vais te dire, et demeure debout à ta place; car je suis maintenant envoyé vers toi. Et pendant qu'il me parlait ainsi, j'étais là debout tremblant.
12 Then sayd he vnto me, Feare not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou diddest set thine heart to vnderstand, and to humble thy selfe before thy God, thy wordes were heard, and I am come for thy wordes.
Et il me dit: Ne crains point, Daniel! Car dès le premier jour où tu as pris a cœur de comprendre, et de t'humilier en la présence de ton Dieu, tes paroles ont été écoutées, et je viens ensuite de tes paroles.
13 But the prince of the kingdome of Persia withstoode me one and twentie dayes: but loe, Michael one of the chiefe princes, came to helpe me, and I remained there by the Kings of Persia.
Et celui qui préside au royaume de Perse, m'a tenu tête pendant vingt-un jours, et voici, Michel, l'un de ceux qui président au premier rang, est venu à mon aide, et ainsi je l'ai emporté auprès des rois de Perse.
14 Nowe I am come to shewe thee what shall come to thy people in the latter dayes: for yet the vision is for many dayes.
Et je suis venu pour t'instruire de ce qui arrivera à ton peuple dans la suite des temps; car la vision a trait encore à l'avenir.
15 And when he spake these wordes vnto me, I set my face towarde the grounde, and helde my tongue.
Et comme il m'adressait de tels discours, je baissai mon visage contre terre, et demeurai muet.
16 And beholde, one like the similitude of the sonnes of man touched my lippes: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said vnto him that stoode before me, O my Lord, by the vision my sorowes are returned vpon me, and I haue reteined no strength.
Et voici, un personnage qui ressemblait à un fils des hommes, toucha mes lèvres; puis j'ouvris la bouche, et je parlai, et je dis à celui qui se tenait devant moi: « Mon Seigneur, par l'effet de la vision les terreurs m'ont saisi, et je n'ai point conservé de force.
17 For howe can the seruant of this my Lord talke with my Lord being such one? for as for me, straight way there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
Et comment un serviteur de mon Seigneur que voilà pourrait-il parler avec mon Seigneur que voilà? » Et dès lors il ne me resta plus de force, et je ne respirais plus.
18 Then there came againe, and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
Alors je fus de nouveau touché par un personnage qui avait l'air d'un homme, et il me fortifia.
19 And said, O man, greatly beloued, feare not: peace be vnto thee: be strong and of good courage. And when he had spoken vnto me, I was strengthened, and saide, Let my Lord speake: for thou hast strengthened me.
Et il dit: Ne crains point, homme chéri! Salut pour toi! courage! courage! Et pendant qu'il me parlait, je me sentais fortifié, et je dis: Que mon Seigneur parle, car tu m'as fortifié.
20 Then saide he, Knowest thou wherefore I am come vnto thee? but nowe will I returne to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, loe, the prince of Grecia shall come.
Et il dit: Sais-tu pourquoi je suis venu vers toi? Et maintenant je vais m'en retourner pour combattre celui qui préside à la Perse, et je pars; mais voici, celui qui préside à la Grèce arrive.
21 But I will shew thee that which is decreeed in the Scripture of trueth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
Toutefois je veux te découvrir ce qui est consigné dans le livre de la vérité. Et aucun ne me soutient contre ceux-là, sinon Michel qui préside sur vous.
