Colossians 4
1 Ye masters, doe vnto your seruants, that which is iust, and equall, knowing that ye also haue a master in heauen.
Ihr Herren, erweiset den Knechten, was dem Recht und der Gleichheit gemäß ist, und seid eingedenk, daß auch ihr einen Herrn in dem Himmel habt.
2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the fame with thankesgiuing,
Haltet an am Gebet, seid wachsam und sagt Dank.
3 Praying also for vs, that God may open vnto vs the doore of vtterance, to speake ye mysterie of Christ: wherefore I am also in bonds,
Betet zugleich auch für uns, daß Gott uns eine Tür eröffne für das Wort, zu reden das Geheimnis von Christus, um Dessentwillen ich auch in Banden bin,
4 That I may vtter it, as it becommeth mee to speake.
Auf daß ich es so offenbare, wie mir zu reden geziemt.
5 Walke wisely towarde them that are without, and redeeme the season.
Verhaltet euch weislich gegen die, so draußen sind, so daß ihr die rechte Zeit abwartet.
6 Let your speach be gracious alwayes, and powdred with salt, that ye may know how to answere euery man.
Eure Rede sei immer wohlgefällig, mit Salz gewürzt, daß ihr wisset, wie ihr einem jeglichen zu antworten habt.
7 Tychicus our beloued brother and faithfull minister, and fellow seruant in the Lord, shall declare vnto you my whole state:
Wie es um mich steht, wird euch Tychikus, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener und Mitknecht im Herrn, genau berichten.
8 Whom I haue sent vnto you for the same purpose that he might know your state, and might comfort your hearts,
Ich habe ihn eben darum zu euch gesendet, damit er erfahre, wie es mit euch geht, und eure Herzen tröste;
9 With Onesimus a faithfull and a beloued brother, who is one of you. They shall shew you of all things here.
Samt Onesimus, dem getreuen und geliebten Bruder, der von den euren ist; sie werden euch alles kundtun, was bei uns vorgeht.
10 Aristarchus my prison fellow saluteth you, and Marcus, Barnabas cousin (touching whom ye receiued commandements. If he come vnto you, receiue him)
Es grüßt euch Aristarchus, mein Mitgefangener, und Markus, der Vetter des Barnabas, in betreff dessen ihr Aufträge empfangen habt. Wenn er zu euch kommt, nehmt ihn auf.
11 And Iesus which is called Iustus, which are of the circumcision. These onely are my worke fellowes vnto the kingdome of God, which haue bene vnto my consolation.
Und Jesus, der da heißt Justus, die aus der Beschneidung sind, welche allein meine Mitarbeiter für das Reich Gottes und mir zur Erquickung geworden sind.
12 Epaphras the seruant of Christ, which is one of you, saluteth you, and alwayes striueth for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect, and full in all the will of God.
Es grüßt euch Epaphras, der zu den euren gehört, ein Knecht von Christus, der allezeit für euch ringt in Gebeten, auf daß ihr als vollkommen besteht und erfüllt mit allem Willen Gottes.
13 For I beare him record, that he hath a great zeale for you, and for them of Laodicea, and them of Hierapolis.
Ich gebe ihm das Zeugnis, daß er großen Eifer für euch und für die in Laodicea und in Hierapolis hat.
14 Luke the beloued physician greeteth you, and Demas.
Es grüßt euch Lukas, der Arzt, der Geliebte, und Demas.
15 Salute the brethren which are of Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the Church which is in his house.
Grüßet die Brüder zu Laodicea und den Nymphas, und die Gemeinde in seinem Hause.
16 And when this Epistle is read of you, cause that it be read in the Church of the Laodiceans also, and that ye likewise reade the Epistle written from Laodicea.
Und wenn der Brief bei euch gelesen ist, so sorgt dafür, daß er auch in der Gemeinde der Laodiceer gelesen werde, und daß ihr auch den von Laodicea zu lesen bekommt,
17 And say to Archippus, Take heede to the ministerie, that thou hast receiued in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.
Und sagt dem Archippus: Warte des Dienstes, den du vom Herrn empfangen hast, daß du ihn ausrichtest.
18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bands. Grace be with you, Amen. ‘Written from Rome to the Colossians, and sent by Tychicus, and Onesimus.’
Der Gruß von meiner, des Paulus, Hand, Gedenket meiner Bande. Die Gnade sei mit euch! Amen.
