Colossians 1
1 Paul an Apostle of Iesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
Esta carta foi escrita por Paulo, apóstolo de Cristo Jesus, de acordo com a vontade de Deus, e pelo irmão Timóteo.
2 To them which are at Colosse, Saintes and faithfull brethren in Christ: Grace bee with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
Ela é enviada para os nossos fiéis irmãos em Cristo da cidade de Colossos. Que a graça e a paz de Deus, nosso Pai, estejam com vocês!
3 We giue thankes to God euen ye Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, alway praying for you:
Somos sempre agradecidos a Deus, o Pai do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, por vocês e oramos por vocês.
4 Since wee heard of your faith in Christ Iesus, and of your loue toward all Saintes,
Soubemos da sua fé em Cristo Jesus e do seu amor por todos os irmãos,
5 For the hopes sake, which is laide vp for you in heauen, whereof yee haue heard before by the word of trueth, which is the Gospel,
por causa da esperança que está preparada para vocês no céu. Vocês já ouviram a respeito disso no evangelho, a mensagem da verdade,
6 Which is come vnto you, eue as it is vnto al the world, and is fruitful, as it is also amog you, from ye day that ye heard and truely knew ye grace of God,
que chegou até vocês e que já se espalhou por todo o mundo, crescendo muito e trazendo muitas bênçãos. O mesmo tem acontecido entre vocês, desde que ouviram e perceberam a verdadeira natureza da graça de Deus.
7 As yee also learned of Epaphras our deare fellowe seruaunt, which is for you a faithfull minister of Christ:
Nosso querido amigo e companheiro de trabalho, Epafras, um fiel servidor de Cristo em nosso nome, ensinou a vocês a respeito disso.
8 Who hath also declared vnto vs your loue in the Spirit.
Ele também nos fez saber do amor que vocês têm, dado pelo Espírito.
9 For this cause wee also, since the day wee heard of it, cease not to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be fulfilled with knowledge of his will in all wisdome, and spirituall vnderstanding,
Por isso, continuamos a orar por vocês desde o momento em que soubemos de tudo isso, pedindo a Deus que lhes dê entendimento sobre o que ele quer que vocês façam e para lhes dar todo tipo de sabedoria e compreensão que o Espírito de Deus dá.
10 That ye might walke worthy of the Lord, and please him in all things, being fruitefull in all good workes, and increasing in the knowledge of God,
Assim, vocês viverão como o Senhor deseja e farão sempre o que agrada a ele, produzindo bons frutos e ganhando cada vez mais conhecimento sobre Deus.
11 Strengthened with all might through his glorious power, vnto all patience, and long suffering with ioyfulnesse,
Que a maravilhosa força do Senhor faça com que se tornem realmente fortes, pacientes e perseverantes.
12 Giuing thankes vnto the Father, which hath made vs meete to be partakers of the inheritance of the Saintes in light,
Que louvem com alegria o Pai, que tornou possível para nós participar da herança do povo de Deus, que vive na luz.
13 Who hath deliuered vs from the power of darkenesse, and hath translated vs into the kingdome of his deare Sonne,
Ele nos resgatou e nos trouxe para o Reino do seu Filho, a quem tanto ama.
14 In whome we haue redemption through his blood, that is, the forgiuenesse of sinnes,
E por meio dele, nós estamos livres e os nossos pecados foram perdoados.
15 Who is the image of the inuisible God, the first begotten of euery creature.
O Filho é a imagem visível do Deus invisível. Ele é anterior a toda a criação,
16 For by him were all things created, which are in heauen, and which are in earth, thinges visible and inuisible: whether they be Thrones or Dominions, or Principalities, or Powers, all things were created by him, and for him,
pois tudo foi criado por meio dele. Tanto no céu quanto na terra, todas as coisas visíveis e invisíveis, impérios, governantes, líderes e autoridades, absolutamente tudo foi criado por meio dele e para ele.
17 And hee is before all things, and in him all things consist.
Ele existia antes de tudo, e ele mantém tudo unido.
18 And hee is the head of the body of the Church: he is the beginning, and the first begotten of the dead, that in all thinges hee might haue the preeminence.
Ele também é a cabeça do corpo, que é a igreja. Ele é o início, o primeiro e o mais importante de entre os que voltaram do mundo dos mortos, para que, assim, seja soberano sobre tudo.
19 For it pleased the Father, that in him should all fulnesse dwell,
Porque é pela vontade de Deus que o Filho tem em si mesmo a natureza plena de Deus.
20 And through peace made by that blood of that his crosse, to reconcile to himselfe through him, through him, I say, all thinges, both which are in earth, and which are in heauen.
E, por meio do Filho, Deus trouxe de volta todo o Universo para si mesmo, pois Cristo construiu a paz, por meio do sangue derramado na cruz em que foi colocado e, por meio dele, Deus reconciliou todos na terra e no céu.
21 And you which were in times past strangers and enemies, because your mindes were set in euill workes, hath he nowe also reconciled,
Vocês já estiveram afastados de Deus. Eram inimigos dele tanto na forma como pensavam quanto no modo em que agiam.
22 In that body of his flesh through death, to make you holy, and vnblameable and without fault in his sight,
Mas agora, ele os tornou novamente seus amigos pela morte do seu Filho e os trouxe diante dele sem pecados, puros e sem falhas.
23 If ye continue, grounded and stablished in the faith, and be not moued away from the hope of the Gospel, whereof ye haue heard, and which hath bene preached to euery creature which is vnder heauen, whereof I Paul am a minister.
Mas é preciso que permaneçam firmes na fé, sobre um alicerce seguro, imutável como uma rocha. Não se afastem da esperança que receberam ao ouvirem o evangelho, que tem sido compartilhado por todo o mundo. E é por ele que eu, Paulo, tenho trabalhado tanto.
24 Now reioyce I in my suffrings for you, and fulfill the rest of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his bodies sake, which is the Church,
Estou feliz pelas preocupações que surgiram para mim por causa de vocês. Pois tudo que eu sofro, fisicamente, também me torna parte dos sofrimentos de Cristo, a favor do seu corpo, que é a igreja.
25 Whereof I am a minister, according to the dispensation of God, which is giuen mee vnto you ward, to fulfill the word of God,
Eu sirvo a igreja segundo as orientações que Deus me deu, para apresentar a vocês a palavra de Deus por completo.
26 Which is the mysterie hid since the world began, and from all ages, but nowe is made manifest to his Saintes, (aiōn g165)
Este é o mistério que ficou escondido por tanto tempo e por tantas gerações, mas que agora é revelado para o povo de Deus. (aiōn g165)
27 To whome God woulde make knowen what is the riches of his glorious mysterie among the Gentiles, which riches is Christ in you, the hope of glory,
Deus queria que o seu povo conhecesse toda a glória e a riqueza deste mistério, que seria, então, revelado também para todas as nações. E este é o mistério: Cristo, que vive em vocês, é a esperança gloriosa!
28 Whome we preache, admonishing euery man, and teaching euery man in all wisdome, that we may present euery man perfect in Christ Iesus,
Nós falamos sobre Cristo para todas as pessoas. Orientamos e ensinamos a cada um com toda a sabedoria possível, a fim de tornar cada um perfeito em Cristo.
29 Whereunto I also labour and striue, according to his working which worketh in me mightily.
É para realizar essa missão que eu também trabalho, esforçando-me ao máximo, pois eu confio na força que vem de Cristo e que trabalha incansavelmente em mim.
