Amos 7
1 Thus hath the Lord God shewed vnto mee, and beholde, he formed grashoppers in the beginning of ye shooting vp of the latter grouth: and loe, it was in the latter grouth after the Kings mowing.
૧પ્રભુ યહોવાહે મને આ બતાવ્યું છે. જુઓ, વનસ્પતિની પાછલી ફૂટની શરૂઆતમાં તેમણે તીડો બનાવ્યાં, અને જુઓ, તે રાજાની કાપણી પછીનો ચારો હતો.
2 And when they had made an ende of eating the grasse of the land, then I saide, O Lord God, spare, I beseeche thee: who shall raise vp Iaakob? for he is small.
૨એ તીડો દેશનું ઘાસ ખાઈ રહ્યાં ત્યારે મેં કહ્યું કે, “હે પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કૃપા કરીને અમને માફ કરો; યાકૂબ કેવી રીતે જીવતો રહી શકે? કેમ કે તે નાનો છે.”
3 So the Lord repented for this. It shall not be, saith the Lord.
૩તેથી યહોવાહને આ વિષે પશ્ચાત્તાપ થયો. તેમણે કહ્યું, “હું તે થવા દઈશ નહિ.”
4 Thus also hath the Lord God shewed vnto me, and behold, the Lord God called to iudgement by fire, and it deuoured the great deepe, and did eate vp a part.
૪પ્રભુ યહોવાહે મને આ પ્રમાણે બતાવ્યું કે; જુઓ પ્રભુ યહોવાહે અગ્નિને ન્યાય કરવા માટે પોકાર્યો, તેમણે મહા ઊંડાણને ભસ્મ કર્યું અને ભૂમિને પણ ભસ્મીભૂત કરત.
5 Then said I, O Lord God, cease, I beseeche thee: who shall raise vp Iaakob? for he is small.
૫પણ મેં કહ્યું, હે પ્રભુ યહોવાહ, કૃપા કરીને તેમ થવા દેશો નહિ; યાકૂબ કેમ કરીને જીવતો રહી શકે કેમ કે તે નાનો છે.”
6 So the Lord repented for this. This also shall not be, saith the Lord God.
૬યહોવાહને એ વિષે પશ્ચાત્તાપ થયો, પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે, “એ પણ થશે નહિ.”
7 Thus againe he shewed me, and behold, the Lord stoode vpon a wall made by line with a line in his hand.
૭પછી યહોવાહે મને આમ દર્શાવ્યું; જુઓ, પ્રભુ પોતે હાથમાં ઓળંબો પકડીને ઓળંબે ચણેલી ભીંત પાસે ઊભા રહ્યા.
8 And the Lord saide vnto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A line. Then said the Lord, Beholde, I wil set a line in the middes of my people Israel, and wil passe by them no more.
૮યહોવાહે મને કહ્યું કે, “આમોસ, તને શું દેખાય છે?” મેં કહ્યું, “એક ઓળંબો.” પછી પ્રભુએ કહ્યું, “જુઓ, હું મારા ઇઝરાયલ લોકોમાં આ ઓળંબો મૂકીશ. હું ફરીથી તેમને માફ કરીશ નહિ.
9 And the hye places of Izhak shalbe desolate, and the temples of Israel shalbe destroyed: and I wil rise against the house of Ieroboam with the sworde.
૯ઇસહાકનાં ઉચ્ચસ્થાનો ઉજ્જડ થઈ જશે, અને ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રસ્થાનો વેરાન થઈ જશે, અને હું તલવાર લઈને યરોબામના વંશની વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠીશ.”
10 Then Amaziah the Priest of Beth-el sent to Ieroboam King of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the middes of the house of Israel: the lande is not able to beare all his wordes.
૧૦પછી બેથેલના યાજક અમાસ્યાએ ઇઝરાયલના રાજા યરોબામને કહાવી મોકલ્યું કે,’ આમોસે ઇઝરાયલી લોકોમાં તારી વિરુદ્ધ કાવતરું રચ્યું છે. આ સર્વ વચનો કદાચ દેશના લોક સહન કરી શકશે નહિ.”
11 For thus Amos saith, Ieroboam shall die by the sworde, and Israel shalbe led away captiue out of their owne land.
૧૧કેમ કે આમોસ કહે છે કે; “યરોબામ તલવારથી માર્યો જશે, અને ઇઝરાયલના લોકોને નિશ્ચિત પોતાના દેશમાંથી ગુલામ કરીને લઈ જશે.’”
12 Also Amaziah sayde vnto Amos, O thou the Seer, goe, flee thou away into the land of Iudah, and there eate thy bread and prophecie there.
૧૨અમાસ્યાએ આમોસને કહ્યું કે, “હે દ્રષ્ટા, જા, યહૂદિયાના દેશમાં નાસી જા અને ત્યાં રોટલી ખાજે તથા ત્યાં પ્રબોધ કરજે.
13 But prophecie no more at Beth-el: for it is the Kings chappel, and it is the Kings court.
૧૩પણ હવે પછી કદી બેથેલમાં ભવિષ્ય ભાખતો નહિ, કેમ કે એ તો રાજાનું પવિત્રસ્થાન છે અને એ રાજાનું ભક્તિસ્થાન છે.”
14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no Prophet, neither was I a prophets sonne, but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of wilde figs.
૧૪પછી આમોસે અમાસ્યાને કહ્યું, “હું પ્રબોધક નથી કે પ્રબોધકનો દીકરો પણ નથી, હું તો માત્ર ભરવાડ અને ગુલ્લર વૃક્ષની સંભાળ રાખનાર છું.
15 And the Lord tooke me as I followed the flocke, and the Lord said vnto me, Go, prophecie vnto my people Israel.
૧૫હું ઘેટાનાં ટોળાં સાચવતો હતો ત્યારે યહોવાહે મને બોલાવ્યો અને વળી મને કહ્યું, ‘જા, મારા ઇઝરાયલ લોકોને પ્રબોધ કર.’”
16 Now therefore heare thou the word of the Lord. Thou sayest, Prophecie not against Israel, and speake nothing against the house of Izhak.
૧૬એટલે હવે તું યહોવાહનું વચન સાંભળ. તું કહે છે કે, ઇઝરાયલ વિરુદ્ધ પ્રબોધ કરીશ નહિ અને ઇસહાકના વંશજો વિરુદ્ધ એક પણ શબ્દ બોલીશ નહિ.’
17 Therefore thus sayth the Lord, Thy wife shall be an harlot in the citie, and thy sonnes and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be deuided by line: and thou shalt die in a polluted land, and Israel shall surely go into captiuitie forth of his land.
૧૭માટે યહોવાહ આમ કહે છે કે; તારી પત્ની નગરની ગણિકા બનશે; અને તારા દીકરાઓ તથા તારી દીકરીઓ તલવારથી માર્યા જશે; તારી ભૂમિ દોરીથી માપીને બીજાઓને વહેંચાશે; તું પોતે અપવિત્ર ભૂમિમાં મૃત્યુ પામશે, અને નિશ્ચે ઇઝરાયલ લોકોને પોતાના દેશમાંથી ગુલામ બનાવીને લઈ જવામાં આવશે.’”
