Amos 1
1 The wordes of Amos, who was among the heardmen at Tecoa, which he sawe vpon Israel, in the dayes of Vzziah king of Iudah, and in the dayes of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash King of Israel, two yeere before the earthquake.
Lời của A-mốt, người trong bọn chăn ở Thê-cô-a, là lời đã được soi dẫn cho người về Y-sơ-ra-ên, đang đời Ô-xia, vua Giu-đa, và đang đời Giê-rô-bô-am, con trai Giô-ách, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, hai năm trước cơn động đất.
2 And he saide, The Lord shall roare from Zion, and vtter his voyce from Ierusalem, and the dwelling places of the shepheards shall perish, and the top of Carmel shall wither,
Người nói rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ gầm thét từ Si-ôn. Ngài làm cho vang tiếng mình ra từ Giê-ru-sa-lem. Những đồng cỏ của kẻ chăn chiên sẽ thảm sầu, chót núi Cạt-mên sẽ khô héo.
3 Thus saith the Lord, For three transgressions of Damascus, and for foure I will not turne to it, because they haue threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of yron.
Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Bởi cớ tội ác của Ða-mách đến gấp ba gấp bốn lần, nên ta không xây bỏ án phạt khỏi nó, vì chúng nó đã lấy đồ đập lúa bằng sắt mà đập Ga-la-át.
4 Therefore will I sende a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Ben-hadad.
Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trong nhà Ha-xa-ên, đặng thiêu nuốt đền đài của Bên-Ha-đát.
5 I will breake also the barres of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant of Bikeath-auen: and him that holdeth the scepter out of Beth-eden, and the people of Aram shall goe into captiuitie vnto Kir, sayth the Lord.
Ta sẽ bẻ gãy then của Ða-mách; ta sẽ dứt dân cư khỏi trũng A-ven, và kẻ cầm cây trượng khỏi nhà Ê-đen; còn dân sự Sy-ri sẽ bị đày qua Ki-rơ làm phu tù, Ðức Giê-hô-va phán vậy.
6 Thus sayth the Lord, For three transgressions of Azzah, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they caried away prisoners the whole captiuitie to shut them vp in Edom.
Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Bởi cớ tội ác của Ga-xa đến gấp ba gấp bốn lần, nên ta không xây bỏ án phạt khỏi nó; vì chúng nó đã đem hết dân sự đi làm phu tù mà nộp cho Ê-đôm.
7 Therefore will I sende a fire vpon the walles of Azzah, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên vách thành Ga-xa, nó sẽ thiêu nuốt những đền đài nó.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the scepter from Ashkelon, and turne mine hande to Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistims shall perish, sayth the Lord God.
Ta sẽ dứt dân cư khỏi Ách-đốt và kẻ cầm cây trượng khỏi Ách-ca-lôn. Ta sẽ trở tay ta nghịch cùng Éc-rôn; và phần sót lại của người Phi-li-tin sẽ chết, Chúa Giê-hô-va phán vậy.
9 Thus sayth the Lord, For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they shut the whole captiuitie in Edom, and haue not remembred the brotherly couenant.
Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Bởi cớ tội ác của Ty-rơ đến gấp ba gấp bốn lần, nên ta không xây bỏ án phạt khỏi nó; vì chúng nó đã nộp hết dân sự cho Ê-đôm, chẳng hề nhớ đến sự giao ước anh em.
10 Therefore wil I send a fire vpon ye walles of Tyrus, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên vách thành Ty-rơ, nó sẽ thiêu nuốt những đền đài nó.
11 Thus sayeth the Lord, For three transgressions of Edom, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because hee did pursue his brother with the sworde, and did cast off all pitie, and his anger spoyled him euermore, and his wrath watched him alway.
Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Bởi cớ tội ác của Ê-đôm đến gấp ba gấp bốn lần, nên ta không xây bỏ án phạt khỏi nó; vì nó đã dùng gươm đuổi theo anh em mình, bẻ cả lòng thương xót, và cơn giận nó cứ cắn xé không thôi, nuôi sự thạnh nộ đời đời.
12 Therefore will I send a fire vpon Teman, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Bozrah.
Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên Thê-man, nó sẽ thiêu nuốt những đền đài của Bốt-ra.
13 Thus sayth ye Lord, For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they haue ript vp the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.
Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Bởi cớ tội ác của con cái Am-môn đến gấp ba gấp bốn lần, nên ta không xây bỏ án phạt khỏi nó, vì chúng nó đã mổ bụng đờn bà chửa của Ga-la-át đặng mở rộng bờ cõi mình.
14 Therefore will I kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battell, and with a tempest in the day of the whirlewinde.
Ta sẽ thắp lửa trong vách thành Ráp-ba, nó sẽ thiêu nuốt những đền đài nó giữa tiếng kêu giặc giã trong ngày chiến trận, giữa cơn gió lốc trong ngày bão táp.
15 And their King shall go into captiuitie, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.
Vua chúng nó cùng các quan trưởng sẽ đi làm phu tù cùng nhau, Ðức Giê-hô-va phán vậy.
