Amos 1
1 The wordes of Amos, who was among the heardmen at Tecoa, which he sawe vpon Israel, in the dayes of Vzziah king of Iudah, and in the dayes of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash King of Israel, two yeere before the earthquake.
૧યહૂદિયાના રાજા ઉઝિયાના શાસનમાં અને ઇઝરાયલના રાજા યોઆશના દીકરા યરોબામના શાસનમાં ધરતીકંપ થયો. તે પહેલાં બે વર્ષ અગાઉ તકોઆના ગોવાળોમાંના આમોસને જે સંદર્શન પ્રાપ્ત થયાં તે.
2 And he saide, The Lord shall roare from Zion, and vtter his voyce from Ierusalem, and the dwelling places of the shepheards shall perish, and the top of Carmel shall wither,
૨તેણે કહ્યું, યહોવાહ સિયોનમાંથી ગર્જના કરશે; યરુશાલેમમાંથી પોકાર કરશે; ભરવાડો શોકાતુર થઈ જશે, અને કાર્મેલ શિખર પરનો ઘાસચારો સુકાઈ જશે.”
3 Thus saith the Lord, For three transgressions of Damascus, and for foure I will not turne to it, because they haue threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of yron.
૩યહોવાહ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે; દમસ્કસના ત્રણ ગુનાને લીધે, હા ચાર ગુનાને લીધે, હું તેઓને શિક્ષા કર્યા વગર રહીશ નહિ. કેમ કે તેઓએ ગિલ્યાદને લોખંડના અનાજ ઝૂડવાના સાધનોથી માર્યો છે.
4 Therefore will I sende a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Ben-hadad.
૪પરંતુ હું યહોવાહ હઝાએલના ઘરમાં અગ્નિ મોકલીશ, અને તે બેન-હદાદના મહેલોને ભસ્મ કરી દેશે.
5 I will breake also the barres of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant of Bikeath-auen: and him that holdeth the scepter out of Beth-eden, and the people of Aram shall goe into captiuitie vnto Kir, sayth the Lord.
૫વળી હું દમસ્કસના દરવાજાઓ તોડી નાખીશ અને આવેનની ખીણમાંથી તેના રહેવાસીઓનો નાશ કરીશ, બેથ-એદેનમાંથી રાજદંડ ધારણ કરનારને નષ્ટ કરીશ; અને અરામના લોકો કીરમાં ગુલામગીરીમાં જશે,” એમ યહોવાહ કહે છે.
6 Thus sayth the Lord, For three transgressions of Azzah, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they caried away prisoners the whole captiuitie to shut them vp in Edom.
૬યહોવાહ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે કે; “ગાઝાના ત્રણ ગુનાને લીધે, હા, ચારને લીધે, તેઓને શિક્ષા કરવાનું હું ચૂકીશ નહિ, કેમ કે અદોમના લોકોને સોપી દેવા માટે, તેઓ આખી પ્રજાને ગુલામ કરીને લઈ ગયા.
7 Therefore will I sende a fire vpon the walles of Azzah, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
૭હું ગાઝાની દીવાલોને આગ લગાડીશ, અને તે તેના કિલ્લેબંધી મહેલોને નષ્ટ કરી નાખશે.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the scepter from Ashkelon, and turne mine hande to Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistims shall perish, sayth the Lord God.
૮હું આશ્દોદના બધા રહેવાસીઓને મારી નાખીશ, અને આશ્કલોનમાંથી રાજદંડ ધારણ કરનારનો નાશ કરીશ. હું એક્રોનની વિરુદ્ધ મારો હાથ ફેરવીશ, અને બાકી રહેલા પલિસ્તીઓ નાશ પામશે,” એવું પ્રભુ યહોવાહ કહે છે.
9 Thus sayth the Lord, For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they shut the whole captiuitie in Edom, and haue not remembred the brotherly couenant.
૯યહોવાહ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે; તૂરના ત્રણ ગુનાને લીધે, હા ચારને લીધે, હું તેને શિક્ષા કર્યા વિના છોડીશ નહિ, તેઓએ ભાઈચારાના કરારનો ભંગ કર્યો છે, અને સમગ્ર પ્રજાને અદોમને સોંપી દીધી.
10 Therefore wil I send a fire vpon ye walles of Tyrus, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
૧૦હું તૂરની દીવાલોને આગ લગાડીશ, અને તે તેના સર્વ કિલ્લેબંધી ઘરોને નષ્ટ કરી નાખશે.”
11 Thus sayeth the Lord, For three transgressions of Edom, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because hee did pursue his brother with the sworde, and did cast off all pitie, and his anger spoyled him euermore, and his wrath watched him alway.
૧૧યહોવાહ આ મુજબ કહે છે; અદોમના ચાર ગુનાને લીધે, હા ત્રણને લીધે, હું તેમને શિક્ષા કર્યા વિના છોડીશ નહિ, કેમ કે હાથમાં તલવાર લઈને તે પોતાના ભાઈઓની પાછળ પડ્યો, અને તેણે દયાનો છેક ત્યાગ કર્યો. તે નિત્ય ક્રોધના આવેશમાં મારફાડ કરતો હતો, અને તેનો રોષ કદી શમી ગયો નહિ.
12 Therefore will I send a fire vpon Teman, and it shall deuoure the palaces of Bozrah.
૧૨હું તેમાન પર અગ્નિ મોકલીશ, અને તે બોસરાના મહેલોને ભસ્મ કરી નાખશે.”
13 Thus sayth ye Lord, For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for foure, I will not turne to it, because they haue ript vp the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.
૧૩યહોવાહ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે, “આમ્મોનીઓના ત્રણ ગુનાને લીધે, હા ચારને લીધે, હું તેઓને શિક્ષા કરવાનું માંડી વાળીશ નહિ, કેમ કે પોતાના પ્રદેશની સરહદ વિસ્તારવા માટે તેઓએ ગિલ્યાદમાં ગર્ભવતી સ્ત્રીઓને ચીરી નાખી છે.
14 Therefore will I kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battell, and with a tempest in the day of the whirlewinde.
૧૪પણ હું રાબ્બાના કોટમાં આગ લગાડીશ, અને તે યુદ્ધના સમયે તથા હોંકારાસહિત, અને વાવાઝોડાં તથા તોફાનસહિત, તેના મહેલોને ભસ્મ કરશે.
15 And their King shall go into captiuitie, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.
૧૫તેઓનો રાજા પોતાના સરદારો સાથે ગુલામગીરીમાં જશે,” એમ યહોવાહ કહે છે.
