Acts 9
1 And Saul yet breathing out threatnings and slaughter against the disciples of ye Lord, went vnto the hie Priest,
Pero Saúl, aún con deseo de matar a los discípulos del Señor, fue al sumo sacerdote,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the Synagogues, that if he found any that were of that way (either men or women) hee might bring them bound vnto Hierusalem.
y le pidió cartas a las sinagogas de Damasco, de modo que si allí había, hombres o mujeres, de este Camino podría llevarlos como prisioneros a Jerusalén.
3 Now as he iourneyed, it came to passe that as he was come neere to Damascus, suddenly there shined rounde about him a light from heauen.
Y mientras él viajaba, se acercó a Damasco; y de repente vio una luz del cielo que brillaba a su alrededor;
4 And hee fell to the earth, and heard a voyce, saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
Y le rodeó una luz resplandeciente del cielo y él cayó al suelo, y una voz le dijo: Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues?
5 And he sayd, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord sayd, I am Iesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kicke against pricks.
Y él dijo: temblando y temeroso ¿Quién eres tú, Señor? Y él dijo: Yo soy Jesús, a quien estás atacando:
6 He then both trembling and astonied, sayd, Lord, what wilt thou that I doe? And the Lord sayd vnto him, Arise and goe into the citie, and it shall be tolde thee what thou shalt doe.
Pero levántate, y entra en la ciudad, y se te dirá lo que tienes que hacer.
7 The men also which iourneyed with him, stood amased, hearing his voyce, but seeing no man.
Y los hombres que estaban con él no pudieron decir nada; escuchando la voz, pero sin ver a nadie.
8 And Saul arose from the ground, and opened his eyes, but sawe no man. Then led they him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus,
Y Saúl se levantó, y cuando sus ojos se abrieron, no vio nada; y fue guiado por la mano a Damasco.
9 Where he was three dayes without sight, and neither ate nor dranke.
Y durante tres días no pudo ver, y no tomó comida ni bebida.
10 And there was a certaine disciple at Damascus named Ananias, and to him sayd the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he sayd, Beholde, I am here Lord.
Y había un discípulo en Damasco llamado Ananías; y el Señor le dijo en visión, ¡Ananías! y él dijo: Aquí estoy, Señor.
11 Then the Lord sayd vnto him, Arise, and goe into the streete which is called Straight, and seeke in the house of Iudas after one called Saul of Tarsus: for beholde, he prayeth.
Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate, y ve a la calle que se llama Derecha, y busca en la casa de Judas a uno llamado Saulo de Tarso; porque él está en oración;
12 (And he sawe in a vision a man named Ananias comming in to him, and putting his hands on him, that he might receiue his sight.)
Y vio en visión a un hombre llamado Ananías que entraba y le ponía las manos encima, para que él pudiera ver.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I haue heard by many of this man, howe much euill hee hath done to thy saints at Hierusalem.
Pero Ananías dijo: Señor, he tenido relatos de varias personas acerca de este hombre, cuánto mal ha hecho a tus santos en Jerusalén.
14 Moreouer here hee hath authoritie of the hie Priestes, to binde all that call on thy Name.
Y aquí tiene la autoridad de los principales sacerdotes para hacer prisioneros a todos los que dan culto a tu nombre.
15 Then the Lord said vnto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessell vnto me, to beare my Name before the Gentiles, and Kings, and the children of Israel.
Pero el Señor dijo: ve, no temas; porque él es instrumento escogido para mí, para dar a los gentiles, a los reyes, a los hijos de Israel el conocimiento de mi nombre;
16 For I will shewe him, howe many things he must suffer for my Names sake.
porque yo le mostraré todo lo que tiene que padecer por mi nombre.
17 Then Ananias went his way, and entred into that house, and put his hands on him, and sayd, Brother Saul, the Lord hath sent me (euen Iesus that appeared vnto thee in the way as thou camest) that thou mightest receiue thy sight, and be filled with the holy Ghost.
Y saliendo Ananías, vino a la casa y, poniéndole las manos encima, le dijo: Hermano Saulo, el Señor Jesús, a quien viste en tu viaje, me envió para que veas, y estar lleno del Espíritu Santo.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had bene scales, and suddenly he receiued sight, and arose, and was baptized,
Y enseguida pareció como si le quitaran un velo de los ojos, y él pudo ver; y él se levantó y tuvo el bautismo;
19 And receiued meate, and was strengthened. So was Saul certaine dayes with the disciples which were at Damascus.
Y cuando hubo tomado comida, su fuerza regresó. Y por algunos días se quedó con los discípulos que estaban en Damasco.
20 And straightway hee preached Christ in the Synagogues, that he was that Sonne of God,
Y enseguida, en las sinagogas, estaba predicando a Jesús como el Hijo de Dios.
21 So that all that heard him, were amased, and sayde, Is not this hee, that made hauocke of them which called on this Name in Hierusalem, and came hither for that intent, that hee should bring them bound vnto the hie Priests?
Y todos los que lo oían se llenaron de asombro, y dijeron: ¿No es éste el hombre que en Jerusalén estaba atacando a todos los adoradores de este nombre? y él había venido aquí para que los tomara como prisioneros ante los principales sacerdotes.
22 But Saul encreased the more in strength, and confounded the Iewes which dwelt at Damascus, confirming, that this was that Christ.
Pero Saúl siguió aumentando su poder, y los judíos en Damasco no pudieron dar respuesta a los argumentos mediante los cuales dejó en claro que Jesús era el Cristo.
23 And after that many dayes were fulfilled, the Iewes tooke counsell together, to kill him,
Luego, después de algunos días, los judíos hicieron un acuerdo juntos para matarlo:
24 But their laying awayte was knowen of Saul: nowe they watched the gates day and night, that they might kill him.
Pero Saúl conoció sus planes. Y cuidaban día y noche las puertas de la ciudad, para que lo mataran:
25 Then the disciples tooke him by night, and put him through the wall, and let him downe by a rope in a basket.
Pero sus discípulos lo tomaron de noche y lo dejaron caer de la pared en una canasta.
26 And when Saul was come to Hierusalem, he assayed to ioyne himselfe with the disciples: but they were all afrayd of him, and beleeued not that he was a disciple.
Y cuando vino a Jerusalén, hizo un intento de unirse a los discípulos, pero todos le temían, no lo tomaban por discípulo.
27 But Barnabas tooke him, and brought him to the Apostles, and declared to them, howe hee had seene the Lord in the way, and that hee had spoken vnto him, and how he had spoken boldly at Damascus in the Name of Iesus.
Pero Bernabé lo llevó a los Apóstoles y les contó cómo había visto al Señor en el camino, y había escuchado sus palabras, y cómo en Damasco había estado predicando en el nombre de Jesús sin temor.
28 And hee was conuersant with them at Hierusalem,
Y él estaba con ellos, yendo y viniendo a Jerusalén,
29 And spake boldly in the Name of the Lord Iesus, and spake and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
Predicando en el nombre del Señor sin temor; y él tuvo discusiones con los judíos griegos; pero éstos procuraban matarlo.
30 But when the brethren knewe it, they brought him to Cesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
Y cuando los hermanos lo supieron, lo llevaron a Cesarea y lo enviaron a Tarso.
31 Then had the Churches rest through all Iudea, and Galile, and Samaria, and were edified and walked in the feare of the Lord, and were multiplied by the comfort of the holy Ghost.
Y así la iglesia a través de toda Judea y Galilea y Samaria tuvo paz y se hizo fuerte; y, viviendo en el temor del Señor y en la comodidad del Espíritu Santo, se incrementó enormemente.
32 And it came to passe, as Peter walked throughout all quarters, hee came also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
Y sucedió que mientras Pedro atravesaba todas las partes del país, vino a ver a los santos que vivían en Lida.
33 And there he found a certaine man named Aeneas, which had kept his couch eight yeeres, and was sicke of the palsie.
Y había allí un hombre llamado Eneas, que durante ocho años estuvo acostado, sin poder moverse, pues estaba paralítico.
34 Then said Peter vnto him, Aeneas, Iesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise and trusse thy couch together. And he arose immediately.
Y Pedro le dijo: Eneas, Jesucristo te sana; levántate y haz tu cama. Y enseguida se levantó.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron, sawe him, and turned to the Lord.
Y todos los que vivían en Lida y Sarón lo vieron, y se convirtieron al Señor.
36 There was also at Ioppa a certaine woman, a disciple named Tabitha (which by interpretation is called Dorcas) she was full of good workes and almes which she did.
Había en Jope una discípula llamada Tabita, es decir, Dorcas: esta mujer fue dada a buenas obras y actos de misericordia en todo momento.
37 And it came to passe in those dayes, that she was sicke and dyed: and when they had washed her, they layd her in an vpper chamber.
Y sucedió que en aquellos días enfermó y murió, y cuando la lavaron, la pusieron en una habitación que estaba en lo alto.
38 Now forasmuch as Lydda was neere to Ioppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent vnto him two men, desiring that he would not delay to come vnto them.
Y como Lida estaba cerca de Jope, los discípulos, sabiendo que Pedro estaba allí, le enviaron dos hombres, y le rogaron que fuera con ellos.
39 Then Peter arose and came with them: and when hee was come, they brought him into the vpper chamber, where all the widowes stoode by him weeping, and shewing the coates and garments, which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
Y Pedro fue con ellos. Y cuando llegó, lo llevaron a la habitación; y todas las viudas estaban allí, llorando y poniendo delante de él los abrigos y la ropa que Dorcas había hecho mientras estaba con ellos.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled downe, and prayed, and turned him to the body, and sayd, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and when she sawe Peter, sate vp.
Pero Pedro los hizo salir a todos, y se puso de rodillas en oración; y volviéndose hacia el cuerpo, dijo, Tabita, levántate. Y, al abrir los ojos, vio a Pedro y se levantó.
41 Then he gaue her the hand and lift her vp, and called the Saints and widowes, and restored her aliue.
Y él, tomó su mano, la levantó; entonces, llamando a los santos y las viudas, él se las dio, viva.
42 And it was knowen throughout all Ioppa, and many beleeued in the Lord.
Y noticias de esto pasaron por todo Jope, y varias personas tuvieron fe en el Señor.
43 And it came to passe that he taried many dayes in Ioppa with one Simon a Tanner.
Y vivió en Jope por algún tiempo con Simón, un curtidor de piel.
