Acts 6
1 And in those dayes, as the nomber of ye disciples grewe, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians towards ye Hebrewes, because their widowes were neglected in the dayly ministring.
ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಲೇ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರೀಕ್ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, ಹೀಬ್ರೂ ಭಾಷೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಗೊಣಗುಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, “ಅನುದಿನದ ಉಪಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಧವೆಯರನ್ನು ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
2 Then the twelue called the multitude of the disciples together, and sayd, It is not meete that we should leaue the worde of God to serue the tables.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರು ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ, “ನಾವು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯ ಬೋಧಿಸುವ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಿ, ಆಹಾರ ವಿತರಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಸಮಯ ಕಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ.
3 Wherefore brethren, looke ye out among you seuen men of honest report, and full of the holy Ghost, and of wisedome, which we may appoint to this busines.
ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮಭರಿತರೂ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರೂ ಎಂದು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಏಳು ಜನರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ. ನಾವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆವು.
4 And we will giue our selues continually to prayer, and to the ministration of the worde.
ನಾವಾದರೋ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯ ಬೋಧಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿರತರಾಗಿರುವೆವು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Steuen a man full of fayth and of the holy Ghost, and Philippe, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a Proselyte of Antiochia,
ಈ ಮಾತು ಇಡೀ ಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಅವರು ಪೂರ್ಣನಂಬಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮಭರಿತನೂ ಆದ ಸ್ತೆಫನನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು; ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪ, ಪ್ರೊಖೋರ, ನಿಕನೋರ, ತಿಮೋನ, ಪರ್ಮೇನ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯದ ನಿಕೊಲಾಯನನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆಮಾಡಿದರು.
6 Which they set before the Apostles: and they prayed, and layed their hands on them.
ಇವರನ್ನು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ತಂದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಿ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಸ್ತಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ನೇಮಿಸಿದರು.
7 And the worde of God increased, and the nomber of the disciples was multipled in Hierusalem greatly, and a great company of the Priests were obedient to the faith.
ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಬಂತು. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿತು. ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅನೇಕ ಜನರು ನಂಬಿಕೆಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯರಾದರು.
8 Now Steuen full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
ದೇವರ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದ ಸ್ತೆಫನನಿಂದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾ ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳೂ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ನಡೆದವು.
9 Then there arose certaine of the Synagogue, which are called Libertines, and Cyrenians, and of Alexandria, and of them of Cilicia, and of Asia, and disputed with Steuen.
ಆದರೆ, “ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಹೊಂದಿದವರು” ಎಂಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದವರಿಂದ ವಿರೋಧ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಅವರು ಕುರೇನ್ಯ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂದ್ರಿಯ ಕಿಲಿಕ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಏಷ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರಾಂತಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಸ್ತೆಫನನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತರ್ಕಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
10 But they were not able to resist the wisdome, and the Spirit by the which he spake.
ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದಲೂ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
11 Then they suborned men, which saide, We haue heard him speake blasphemous wordes against Moses, and God.
ಆಗ ಅವರು, “ಇವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೂ ದೇವರಿಗೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದೂಷಣೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಲಂಚಕೊಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮನವೊಲಿಸಿದರು.
12 Thus they mooued the people and the Elders, and the Scribes: and running vpon him, caught him, and brought him to the Councill,
ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನೂ ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸಿ ಸ್ತೆಫನನನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಸಭೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ತಂದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
13 And set forth false witnesses, which sayd, This man ceasseth not to speake blasphemous wordes against this holy place, and the Law.
ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಜರುಪಡಿಸಿ, “ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೂ ಮೋಶೆಯ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ.
14 For we haue heard him say, that this Iesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the ordinances, which Moses gaue vs.
ನಜರೇತಿನ ಯೇಸು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆಂದೂ ನಮಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆಂದೂ ಇವನು ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿಸಿದರು.
15 And as all that sate in the Councill, looked stedfastly on him, they saw his face as it had bene the face of an Angel.
ನ್ಯಾಯಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸ್ತೆಫನನ ಮುಖವನ್ನೇ ದಿಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವನ ಮುಖವು ದೇವದೂತನ ಮುಖದಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
