Acts 24
1 Now after fiue dayes, Ananias the hie Priest came downe with the Elders, and with Tertullus a certaine oratour, which appeared before the Gouernour against Paul.
Guyyaa shan booddee Anaaniyaas lubni ol aanaan maanguddoota tokko tokkoo fi abukaattoo Xerxuloos jedhamu tokko wajjin Qiisaariyaatti gad buʼe; isaanis waan ittiin Phaawulosin himatan bulchaa duratti dhiʼeeffatan.
2 And when he was called foorth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that we haue obtained great quietnesse through thee, and that many worthy things are done vnto this nation through thy prouidence,
Yommuu Phaawulos waamamee ol galetti, Xerxuloos akkana jedhee himata isaa Feeliksi duratti dhiʼeeffate; “Yaa Feeliksi kabajamaa, nu bara kee keessa yeroo dheeraa nagaan jiraanneera; ogummaan kees saba kanaaf geeddarama fideera.
3 We acknowledge it wholy, and in all places most noble Felix, with all thankes,
Yaa Feeliksi kabajamaa, nu waan kana karaa hundumaa fi iddoo hundatti galata guddaadhaan ni fudhanna.
4 But that I be not tedious vnto thee, I pray thee, that thou wouldest heare vs of thy courtesie a fewe wordes.
Garuu ani akka hammana irra si hin dadhabsiifneef akka ati gabaabumatti gara laafinaan nu dhageessu sin kadhadha.
5 Certainely we haue found this man a pestilent fellowe, and a moouer of sedition among all the Iewes throughout the world, and a chiefe maintainer of the secte of the Nazarites:
“Nu akka namichi kun dhukkuba hamaa taʼee Yihuudoota addunyaa guutuu irra jiran hunda keessatti goolii kaasaa jiru argineerra. Inni hoogganaa garee Naazirootaa ti.
6 And hath gone about to pollute the Temple: therefore wee tooke him, and woulde haue iudged him according to our Lawe:
Inni mana qulqullummaa iyyuu xureessuu yaaleera; nu immoo akka seera keenyaatti itti muruuf jennee isa qabne. [
7 But the chiefe captaine Lysias came vpon vs, and with great violence tooke him out of our handes,
Garuu Luusiyoos ajajaan kumaa sun dhufee humna guddaan harka keenya keessaa isa baase; akka himattoonni isaa fuula kee duratti dhiʼaatanis ni ajaje.]
8 Commanding his accusers to come to thee: of whom thou mayest (if thou wilt inquire) know all these things whereof we accuse him.
Ati mataan kee iyyuu isa qoruudhaan waaʼee waan nu isa himannu kanaa hunda beekuu ni dandeessa.”
9 And the Iewes likewise affirmed, saying that it was so.
Yihuudoonnis akka dubbiin kun dhugaa taʼe mirkaneessanii himata sana deeggaran.
10 Then Paul, after that the gouernour had beckened vnto him that hee shoulde speake, answered, I do the more gladly answere for my selfe, for as much as I knowe that thou hast bene of many yeres a iudge vnto this nation,
Phaawulosis yommuu bulchaan sun akka inni dubbatuuf harkaan mallattoo kenneefitti akkana jedhee deebii kenne; “Ani waan akka ati waggoota hedduuf abbaa murtii saba kanaa taate beekuuf falmii koo gammachuudhaan nan dhiʼeeffadha.
11 Seeing that thou mayest knowe, that there are but twelue dayes since I came vp to worship in Hierusalem.
Akkuma ati rakkoo malee mirkaneeffachuu dandeessu ani waaqeffachuuf jedhee Yerusaalemitti ol baʼuun koo guyyaa kudha lama hin caalu.
12 And they neither found mee in the Temple disputing with any man, neither making vproare among the people, neither in the Synagogues, nor in the citie.
Warri na himatan kun anaa mana qulqullummaa keessatti yookaan manneen sagadaa keessatti yookaan magaalaa keessatti nama tokkoon illee falmu yookaan uummata kakaasu na hin arganne.
13 Neither can they proue the things, whereof they now accuse me.
Isaan waan amma ittiin na himachaa jiran kanas siif mirkaneessuu hin dandaʼan.
14 But this I confesse vnto thee, that after the way (which they call heresie) so worship I the God of my fathers, beleeuing all things which are written in the Lawe and the Prophets,
Taʼus ani akka nama karaa isaan garee mormitootaa jedhaniin sana duukaa buʼu tokkootti akka Waaqa abbootii keenyaa waaqeffadhu fuula kee duratti nan amana. Waan seera Museetiin walii galuu fi waan kitaabota raajotaa keessatti barreeffame hundas nan amana.
15 And haue hope towardes God, that the resurrection of the dead, which they themselues looke for also, shalbe both of iust and vniust.
Anis akkuma jara kanaa akka duʼaa kaʼuun qajeeltotaatii fi hamootaa jiraatu Waaqa nan abdadha.
16 And herein I endeuour my selfe to haue alway a cleare conscience towarde God, and toward men.
Kanaafuu ani akka yeroo hunda Waaqaa fi nama duratti yaada qulqulluu qabaadhu nan tattaaffadha.
17 Now after many yeres, I came and brought almes to my nation and offerings.
“Anis bara baayʼee hiyyeeyyii saba kootiitiif gargaarsa kennuuf, Waaqaafis aarsaa dhiʼeessuuf jedhee Yerusaalem dhufe.
18 At what time, certaine Iewes of Asia founde mee purified in the Temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.
Yeroo ani waan kana hojjechaa turettis isaan anaa qulqullaaʼee jiru mana qulqullummaa keessatti na argan. Tuunni tokko iyyuu na bira hin turre; anis goolii keessatti hin hirmaanne.
19 Who ought to haue bene present before thee, and accuse me, if they had ought against me.
Garuu Yihuudoonni biyya Asiyaa kanneen yoo waan ittiin na himatan tokko illee narraa qabaatan si duratti as dhiʼaatanii na himachuu malan tokko tokko jiru.
20 Or let these themselues say, if they haue found any vniust thing in mee, while I stoode in the Council,
Yookaan warri as jiran kunneen yakka yeroo ani fuula Waldaa Yihuudootaa dura dhaabadhe sana narratti argan haa himan;
21 Except it be for this one voyce, that I cried standing among them, Of the resurrection of the dead am I accused of you this day.
waan ani yeroo fuula isaanii dura dhaabadhe sana iyyee, ‘Ani harʼa waaʼee duʼaa kaʼuu warra duʼanii irratti qoramuuf jedhee fuula keessan dura dhaabadheera’ jedhe tokkicha sana malee yoo jiraate haa himan.”
22 Nowe when Felix heard these things, he deferred them, and said, When I shall more perfectly know the things which concerne this way, by the comming of Lysias the chiefe Captaine, I will decise your matter.
Feeliksi garuu waan waaʼee Karaa sanaa sirriitti beekuuf, “Ani gaafa Liisiiyaas ajajaan kumaa sun dhufutti dubbii keessan nan murteessa” jedhee yeroo biraatti dabarse.
23 Then hee commanded a Centurion to keepe Paul, and that he should haue ease, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister vnto him, or to come vnto him.
Innis akka ajajaan dhibbaa sun Phaawulosin eegumsa jala tursu, garuu akka haala isaa itti furuu fi akka michoonni isaas waan isa barbaachisu kam iyyuu isaaf dhiʼeessan eeyyamuuf ajaje.
24 And after certaine dayes, came Felix with his wife Drusilla, which was a Iewesse, and he called foorth Paul, and heard him of the faith in Christ.
Feeliksis bultii muraasa booddee niitii isaa Diruusiilaa ishee Yihuudii turte wajjin dhufe; innis Phaawulosin waamsisee isaa waaʼee Kiristoos Yesuusitti amanuu dubbatu dhaggeeffate.
25 And as he disputed of righteousnes and temperance, and of the iudgement to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time, and when I haue conuenient time, I will call for thee.
Yommuu Phaawulos waaʼee qajeelummaa, waaʼee of qabuutii fi waaʼee murtii kan dhufuuf jiru sanaa dubbatetti Feeliksi sodaatee, “Ammaaf ni gaʼaatii deemi! Yommuu naa mijaaʼutti anuu sin waamsisaatii” jedhe.
26 Hee hoped also that money shoulde haue bene giuen him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore hee sent for him the oftner, and communed with him.
Yeroodhuma sanattis inni akka waan Phaawulos mattaʼaa isaaf kennuutti waan abdachaa tureef ammuma amma waamsisee isa wajjin haasaʼaa ture.
27 When two yeeres were expired, Porcius Festus came into Felix roume: and Felix willing to get fauour of the Iewes, left Paul bound.
Phoorqiyoos Fesxoos erga waggaan lama darbee booddee iddoo Feeliksi qabate; Feeliksis waan Yihuudoota gammachiisuu barbaadeef Phaawulosin manuma hidhaatti dhiise.
