< Acts 24 >
1 Now after fiue dayes, Ananias the hie Priest came downe with the Elders, and with Tertullus a certaine oratour, which appeared before the Gouernour against Paul.
Awo nga wayiseewo ennaku ttaano, Ananiya, Kabona Asinga Obukulu, n’atuuka mu Kayisaliya ng’ali n’abamu ku bakulembeze b’Abayudaaya era ng’aleese n’omwogezi omulungi erinnya lye Terutuulo, eyannyonnyola gavana emisango egyali givunaanibwa Pawulo.
2 And when he was called foorth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that we haue obtained great quietnesse through thee, and that many worthy things are done vnto this nation through thy prouidence,
Pawulo bwe yaleetebwa, Terutuulo n’ayitibwa ategeeze ekivunaanibwa Pawulo, n’awoza bw’ati nti, “Oweekitiibwa, ffe Abayudaaya otuwadde eddembe, n’enkulaakulana olw’amagezi go.
3 We acknowledge it wholy, and in all places most noble Felix, with all thankes,
Tukwebaza nnyo olwa bino byonna by’otukoledde.
4 But that I be not tedious vnto thee, I pray thee, that thou wouldest heare vs of thy courtesie a fewe wordes.
Obutayagala kukukooya, nsaba ompulirize akaseera katono nga mpitaayita mu byangu ku nsonga ze tuvunaana omusajja ono.
5 Certainely we haue found this man a pestilent fellowe, and a moouer of sedition among all the Iewes throughout the world, and a chiefe maintainer of the secte of the Nazarites:
“Omusajja ono tumulabye nga wa mutawaana nnyo, kubanga akuma omuliro mu Bayudaaya bonna mu nsi yonna, basasamale era bajeemere gavumenti y’Abaruumi, omukulembeze mu ttabi ly’eddiini erimanyiddwa ng’ery’Abannazaalaayo.
6 And hath gone about to pollute the Temple: therefore wee tooke him, and woulde haue iudged him according to our Lawe:
N’okugezaako yali agezaako okwonoona Yeekaalu, ne tumukwata. Twali tugenda okumusalira omusango n’ekibonerezo ng’amateeka gaffe bwe galagira,
7 But the chiefe captaine Lysias came vpon vs, and with great violence tooke him out of our handes,
naye Lusiya, omuduumizi w’abaserikale n’ajja n’atumuggyako n’amaanyi,
8 Commanding his accusers to come to thee: of whom thou mayest (if thou wilt inquire) know all these things whereof we accuse him.
n’alagira nti awozesebwe mu mateeka g’Ekiruumi, era n’alagira abamuwawaabira bajje wano mu maaso go. Bw’onoogenda ng’omubuuza ebintu bino byonna, amazima g’ensonga zaffe gajja kweyoleka.”
9 And the Iewes likewise affirmed, saying that it was so.
Olwo n’Abayudaaya abalala ne boogera nga bawagira ebyo Terutuulo bye yawoza nti bya mazima.
10 Then Paul, after that the gouernour had beckened vnto him that hee shoulde speake, answered, I do the more gladly answere for my selfe, for as much as I knowe that thou hast bene of many yeres a iudge vnto this nation,
Oluwalo lwa Pawulo ne lutuuka, gavana n’amuwenya asituke ayogere. Pawulo n’ayanukula nti, “Mmanyi, ssebo, nga bw’osaze emisango egifa ku nsonga zaffe ez’Ekiyudaaya okumala emyaka emingi, ekyo kimpa obugumu nga mpoleza mu maaso go.
11 Seeing that thou mayest knowe, that there are but twelue dayes since I came vp to worship in Hierusalem.
Ggwe bw’onoobuuza, ojja kuzuula nti ennaku tezinnayita kkumi na bbiri kasookedde nyambuka mu Yerusaalemi okusinza mu Yeekaalu.
12 And they neither found mee in the Temple disputing with any man, neither making vproare among the people, neither in the Synagogues, nor in the citie.
Abo abampawaabira tebansisinkanangako nga nnina gwe nnyumya naye mu Yeekaalu, wadde nga nsasamaza ekibiina mu kuŋŋaaniro oba awalala wonna mu kibuga.
13 Neither can they proue the things, whereof they now accuse me.
Era tebayinza kukulaga bukakafu bwonna ku bintu bino bye bampawaabira nti nabikola.
14 But this I confesse vnto thee, that after the way (which they call heresie) so worship I the God of my fathers, beleeuing all things which are written in the Lawe and the Prophets,
Naye waliwo ekintu kimu kye nzikiriza. Nsinza Katonda nga nzikiririza mu Kkubo, bano kye bayita enzikiriza endala. Nsinza Katonda n’okumuweereza nga ngoberera empisa za bajjajjaffe n’obulombolombo, nga bwe baabitegeka, era nzikiririza ddala mu mateeka g’Ekiyudaaya ne mu byonna ebyawandiikibwa mu bitabo bya bannabbi.
15 And haue hope towardes God, that the resurrection of the dead, which they themselues looke for also, shalbe both of iust and vniust.
Era nzikiriza, nga bano bwe bakkiriza, nti walibaawo okuzuukira kw’abatuukirivu n’ababi.
16 And herein I endeuour my selfe to haue alway a cleare conscience towarde God, and toward men.
Olw’essuubi lino lye nnina, nfuba bulijjo okuba n’emmeeme ennongoofu eri Katonda n’eri abantu.
17 Now after many yeres, I came and brought almes to my nation and offerings.
“Oluvannyuma lw’emyaka mingi, nga siriiwo, nakomawo mu Yerusaalemi ng’Abayudaaya mbaleetedde n’ensimbi ez’okubayamba, nga nange neeretedde ekirabo eky’okuwaayo eri Katonda mu Yeekaalu.
18 At what time, certaine Iewes of Asia founde mee purified in the Temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.
Bano abampawaabira bansanga ndi mu kusinza kuno mu Yeekaalu, nga nneerongoosezza, mmaze n’okumwa omutwe ng’amateeka bwe galagira, nga tewaliiwo kibiina kinneetoolodde, era nga tewali kasasamalo.
19 Who ought to haue bene present before thee, and accuse me, if they had ought against me.
Naye waliwo Abayudaaya abava mu kitundu kye Asiya era basaanye babeewo wano boogere obanga balina kye banvunaana.
20 Or let these themselues say, if they haue found any vniust thing in mee, while I stoode in the Council,
Oba si ekyo buuza bano abali wano kaakano, bakutegeeze omusango Olukiiko lw’Abayudaaya Olukulu gwe lwandabako, bwe nayimirira mu maaso gaalwo.
21 Except it be for this one voyce, that I cried standing among them, Of the resurrection of the dead am I accused of you this day.
Mpozzi kino ekimu kye nayogera nti, ‘Ndi wano mu Lukiiko nga mpozesebwa olwokubanga nzikiriza okuzuukira kw’abafu!’”
22 Nowe when Felix heard these things, he deferred them, and said, When I shall more perfectly know the things which concerne this way, by the comming of Lysias the chiefe Captaine, I will decise your matter.
Awo Ferikisi, eyali amanyi obulungi ebikwata ku Kkubo, n’agamba Abayudaaya nti, “Lusiya, omuduumizi w’abaserikale mu Yerusaalemi, bw’alituuka ne ndyoka nsala omusango gwammwe.”
23 Then hee commanded a Centurion to keepe Paul, and that he should haue ease, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister vnto him, or to come vnto him.
N’alagira Pawulo azzibweyo mu kkomera akuumibwe, naye ng’alekerwamu ku ddembe, ne mikwano gye bakkirizibwe okujjanga okumulaba n’okumuleetera bye yeetaaga.
24 And after certaine dayes, came Felix with his wife Drusilla, which was a Iewesse, and he called foorth Paul, and heard him of the faith in Christ.
Awo nga wayiseewo ennaku ntonotono, Ferikisi n’ajja ne mukyala we Dulusira, eyali Omuyudaaya. N’atumya Pawulo, ne bamuwuliriza ng’abategeeza ku kukkiriza Kristo Yesu.
25 And as he disputed of righteousnes and temperance, and of the iudgement to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time, and when I haue conuenient time, I will call for thee.
Awo Pawulo bwe yagenda abannyonnyola ebikwata ku butuukirivu, n’okwefuga mu bikolwa, n’okusalirwa omusango okugenda okujja, Ferikisi n’atya nnyo, n’agamba Pawulo nti, “Ebyo binaagira bimala! Kaakano genda, bwe ndifuna ekiseera ekirungi ndyongera okukuyita.”
26 Hee hoped also that money shoulde haue bene giuen him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore hee sent for him the oftner, and communed with him.
Era Ferikisi yali asuubira nti Pawulo ajja kumuwa enguzi, kyeyava amutumya emirundi mingi n’ayogera naye.
27 When two yeeres were expired, Porcius Festus came into Felix roume: and Felix willing to get fauour of the Iewes, left Paul bound.
Ne wayitawo emyaka ebiri, Polukiyo Fesuto n’adda mu bigere bya Ferikisi. Naye Ferikisi olw’okwagala Abayudaaya bamusiime, bwe yali agenda n’aleka nga Pawulo musibe mu kkomera.
