2 Timothy 1
1 Paul an Apostle of Iesus Christ, by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Iesus,
Παύλος, απόστολος Ιησού Χριστού διά θελήματος Θεού κατά την επαγγελίαν της ζωής της εν Χριστώ Ιησού,
2 To Timotheus my beloued sonne: Grace, mercie and peace from God the Father, and from Iesus Christ our Lord.
προς Τιμόθεον το αγαπητόν τέκνον· είη χάρις, έλεος, ειρήνη από Θεού Πατρός και Χριστού Ιησού του Κυρίου ημών.
3 I thanke God, whom I serue from mine elders with pure conscience, that without ceasing I haue remembrance of thee in my praiers night and day,
Ευχαριστώ τον Θεόν, τον οποίον λατρεύω από προγόνων μετά καθαράς συνειδήσεως, ότι αδιαλείπτως σε ενθυμούμαι εν ταις δεήσεσί μου νύκτα και ημέραν,
4 Desiring to see thee, mindefull of thy teares, that I may be filled with ioy:
επιποθών να σε ίδω, ενθυμούμενος τα δάκρυά σου, διά να εμπλησθώ χαράς,
5 When I call to remembrance the vnfained faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunice, and am assured that it dwelleth in thee also.
ανακαλών εις την μνήμην μου την εν σοι ανυπόκριτον πίστιν, ήτις πρώτον κατώκησεν εν τη μάμμη σου Λωΐδι και εν τη μητρί σου Ευνίκη, είμαι δε πεπεισμένος ότι και εν σοι.
6 Wherefore, I put thee in remembrance that thou stirre vp the gift of God which is in thee, by the putting on of mine hands.
Διά την οποίαν αιτίαν σε υπενθυμίζω να αναζωπυρής το χάρισμα του Θεού, το οποίον είναι εν σοι διά της επιθέσεως των χειρών μου·
7 For God hath not giuen to vs the Spirite of feare, but of power, and of loue, and of a sound minde.
διότι δεν έδωκεν εις ημάς ο Θεός πνεύμα δειλίας, αλλά δυνάμεως και αγάπης και σωφρονισμού.
8 Be not therefore ashamed of the testimonie of our Lord, neither of me his prisoner: but be partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel, according to the power of God,
Μη αισχυνθής λοιπόν την μαρτυρίαν του Κυρίου ημών μηδέ εμέ τον δέσμιον αυτού, αλλά συγκακοπάθησον μετά του ευαγγελίου με την δύναμιν του Θεού,
9 Who hath saued vs, and called vs with an holy calling, not according to our workes, but according to his owne purpose and grace, which was giuen to vs through Christ Iesus before the world was, (aiōnios g166)
όστις έσωσεν ημάς και εκάλεσε με κλήσιν αγίαν, ουχί κατά τα έργα ημών, αλλά κατά την εαυτού πρόθεσιν και χάριν, την δοθείσαν εις ημάς εν Χριστώ Ιησού προ χρόνων αιωνίων, (aiōnios g166)
10 But is nowe made manifest by that appearing of our Sauiour Iesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortalitie vnto light through the Gospel.
φανερωθείσαν δε τώρα διά της επιφανείας του Σωτήρος ημών Ιησού Χριστού, όστις κατήργησε μεν τον θάνατον, έφερε δε εις φως την ζωήν και την αφθαρσίαν διά του ευαγγελίου,
11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and Apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
εις το οποίον ετάχθην εγώ κήρυξ και απόστολος και διδάσκαλος των εθνών.
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed: for I knowe whom I haue beleeued, and I am persuaded that he is able to keepe that which I haue committed to him against that day.
Διά την οποίαν αιτίαν και πάσχω ταύτα, πλην δεν επαισχύνομαι· διότι εξεύρω εις τίνα επίστευσα, και είμαι πεπεισμένος ότι είναι δυνατός να φυλάξη την παρακαταθήκην μου μέχρις εκείνης της ημέρας.
13 Keepe the true paterne of the wholesome wordes, which thou hast heard of me in faith and loue which is in Christ Iesus.
Κράτει το υπόδειγμα των υγιαινόντων λόγων, τους οποίους ήκουσας παρ' εμού, μετά πίστεως και αγάπης της εν Χριστώ Ιησού.
14 That worthie thing, which was committed to thee, keepe through the holy Ghost, which dwelleth in vs.
Την καλήν παρακαταθήκην φύλαξον διά του Πνεύματος του Αγίου του ενοικούντος εν ημίν.
15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia, be turned from me: of which sort are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
Εξεύρεις τούτο, ότι με απεστράφησαν πάντες οι εν τη Ασία, εκ των οποίων είναι ο Φύγελλος και ο Ερμογένης.
16 The Lord giue mercie vnto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chaine,
Είθε ο Κύριος να δώση έλεος εις τον οίκον του Ονησιφόρου, διότι πολλάκις με παρηγόρησε και δεν επησχύνθη την άλυσίν μου,
17 But when he was at Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
αλλ' ότε ήλθεν εις την Ρώμην, με εζήτησε μετά σπουδής πολλής και με εύρεν·
18 The Lord graunt vnto him, that he may finde mercie with the Lord at that day, and in how many things he hath ministred vnto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
είθε ο Κύριος να δώση εις αυτόν να εύρη έλεος παρά Κυρίου εν εκείνη τη ημέρα· και όσας διακονίας έκαμεν εν Εφέσω, συ εξεύρεις καλήτερα.
