2 Samuel 7

1 Afterwarde when the King sate in his house and the Lord had giuen him rest rounde about from all his enemies,

OR avvenne che, abitando il re in casa sua, dopo che il Signore gli ebbe dato riposo da tutti i suoi nemici d'ogn'intorno,

2 The King saide vnto Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, nowe I dwel in an house of cedar trees, and the Arke of God remayneth within the curtaines.

egli disse al profeta Natan: Deh! vedi, io abito in una casa di cedri, e l'Arca di Dio abita in mezzo d'un padiglione.

3 Then Nathan sayde vnto the King, Go, and doe all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.

E Natan disse al re: Va', fa' tutto quello che tu hai nel cuore; perciocchè il Signore [è] teco.

4 And the same night the worde of the Lord came vnto Nathan, saying,

Ma quella stessa notte la parola del Signore fu [indirizzata] a Natan, dicendo:

5 Goe and tell my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord, Shalt thou buylde me an house for my dwelling?

Va', e di' al mio servitore Davide: Così ha detto il Signore: Mi edificheresti tu una casa per mia stanza?

6 For I haue dwelt in no house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt vnto this day, but haue walked in a tent and tabernacle.

Conciossiachè io non sia abitato in casa, dal dì che io trassi fuori di Egitto i figliuoli d'Israele, infino a questo giorno; anzi son camminato qua e là in un padiglione ed in un tabernacolo.

7 In al the places wherein I haue walked with all the children of Israel, spake I one worde with any of the tribes of Israel when I commanded the iudges to feede my people Israel? or sayde I, Why build ye not me an house of cedar trees?

Dovunque io son camminato con tutti i figliuoli d'Israele, ho io mai in alcuna maniera parlato di questo ad alcuna delle tribù d'Israele, alla quale io avessi comandato di pascere il mio popolo Israele, dicendo: Perchè non mi avete voi edificata una casa di cedri?

8 Nowe therefore so say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecote following the sheepe, that thou mightest bee ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel.

Ora dunque, così dirai al mio servitore Davide: Così ha detto il Signore degli eserciti: Io ti ho preso dalla mandra, di dietro alle pecore, acciocchè tu sii conduttore sopra il mio popolo Israele.

9 And I was with thee wheresoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

E sono stato teco dovunque tu sei camminato, ed ho distrutti tutti i tuoi nemici d'innanzi a te, e ti ho acquistato un nome grande, al pari del nome de' [più] grandi che [sieno] in terra.

10 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and moue no more, neither shall wicked people trouble them any more as before time,

Ed oltre a ciò, costituirò un luogo al mio popolo Israele, e lo pianterò, ed egli abiterà in casa sua, e non sarà più agitato, e gl'iniqui non l'affliggeranno più come prima;

11 And since the time that I set Iudges ouer my people of Israel) and I will giue thee rest from al thine enemies: also the Lord telleth thee, that he will make thee an house.

eziandio dal dì che io ordinai de' Giudici sopra il mio popolo Israele; ed io ti darò riposo da tutti i tuoi nemici. Il Signore ti dichiara ancora ch'egli ti farà una casa.

12 And when thy daies bee fulfilled, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and I wil set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy body, and will stablish his kingdome.

Quando i tuoi giorni saranno compiuti, e tu giacerai co' tuoi padri, io susciterò [uno del]la tua progenie dopo te, il quale sarà uscito delle tue interiora, e stabilirò il suo regno.

13 He shall buyld an house for my Name, and I will stablish ye throne of his kingdome for euer.

Egli edificherà una casa al mio Nome, e io farò che il trono del suo regno sarà fermo in perpetuo.

14 I will be his father, and hee shall bee my sonne: and if he sinne, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the plagues of the children of men.

Io gli sarò per padre, ed egli mi sarà per figliuolo; e, se pur commette iniquità, io lo castigherò con verga d'uomo, e con battiture di figliuoli d'uomini.

15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee.

Ma la mia benignità non si dipartirà da lui, come io l'ho fatta dipartire da Saulle, il quale io ho rimosso d'innanzi a te.

16 And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.

E la tua casa e il tuo regno saranno in perpetuo stabili nel tuo cospetto; il tuo trono sarà fermo in eterno.

17 According to all these wordes, and according to all this vision, Nathan spake thus vnto Dauid.

Natan parlò a Davide secondo tutte queste parole, e secondo tutta questa visione.

18 Then King Dauid went in, and sate before the Lord, and sayde, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

Allora il re Davide venne, e si fermò davanti al Signore, e disse: Chi [sono] io, Signore Iddio, e quale [è] la casa mia, che tu mi abbia fatto pervenire infino a questo [grado]

19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, therefore thou hast spoken also of thy seruants house for a great while: but doth this appertaine to man, O Lord God?

E pure anche, o Signore Iddio, ciò ti è paruto poco; onde hai parlato della casa del tuo servitore per un lungo tempo a venire. E pure, o Signore Iddio, [è] questo una legge d'uomini?

20 And what can Dauid say more vnto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy seruant.

E che saprebbe Davide dirti di più? ma, Signore Iddio, tu conosci il tuo servitore.

21 For thy words sake, and according to thine owne heart hast thou done all these great things, to make them knowen vnto thy seruant.

Per amor della tua parola, e secondo il tuo cuore, tu hai operata tutta questa gran cosa, facendo assapere [questo] al tuo servitore.

22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that wee haue heard with our eares.

Perciò, Signore Iddio, tu sei magnificato; imperocchè non [vi è] niuno pari a te, e non [vi è] alcun Dio fuor che te, secondo tutte le cose che noi abbiamo udite con le nostre orecchie.

23 And what one people in the earth is like thy people, like Israel? whose God went and redeemed them to himselfe, that they might be his people, and that hee might make him a name, and do for you great things, and terrible for thy land, O Lord, euen for thy people, whome thou redeemedst to thee out of Egypt, from the nations, and their gods?

E quale [è] l'unica gente in terra pari al tuo popolo Israele? per lo quale Iddio è andato per riscattarselo per suo popolo, e per acquistarsi un nome, e per operare inverso voi, [o Israele], queste cose grandi, ed effetti tremendi, [o Dio], verso il tuo paese, per amor del tuo popolo, il qual tu ti hai riscosso di Egitto, [dalle] genti, e [da]'loro dii.

24 For thou hast ordeyned to thy selfe thy people Israel to be thy people for euer: and thou Lord art become their God.

E ti hai stabilito il tuo popolo Israele per tuo popolo in perpetuo; e tu, Signore, sei stato loro Dio.

25 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, confirme for euer the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and his house, and doe as thou hast sayde.

Ora dunque, Signore Iddio, attieni in perpetuo la parola che tu hai detta intorno al tuo servitore e alla sua casa, ed opera come tu hai parlato.

26 And let thy Name bee magnified for euer by them that shall say, The Lord of hostes is the God ouer Israel: and let the house of thy seruant Dauid be stablished before thee.

E sia il tuo Nome magnificato in eterno; e dicasi: Il Signore degli eserciti [è] Dio sopra Israele; e sia la casa del tuo servitore Davide ferma davanti a te.

27 For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reueiled vnto thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy seruant bene bold to pray this prayer vnto thee.

Perciocchè tu, Signore degli eserciti, Dio d'Israele, hai rivelato e detto al tuo servitore: Io ti edificherò una casa; e però il tuo servitore ha trovato il suo cuore, per farti questa orazione.

28 Therefore now, O Lord God, (for thou art God, and thy words be true, and thou hast tolde this goodnes vnto thy seruant)

Ora dunque, Signore Iddio, tu sei Iddio; e le tue parole, con le quali tu hai promesso al tuo servitore questo bene, saranno verità.

29 Therefore nowe let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may continue for euer before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and let the house of thy seruant be blessed for euer, with thy blessing.

Ed ora, piacciati benedir la casa del tuo servitore, acciocchè ella duri davanti a te in perpetuo; conciossiachè tu, Signore Iddio, abbi parlato. Sia dunque la casa del tuo servitore benedetta della tua benedizione in perpetuo.
