2 Samuel 7
1 Afterwarde when the King sate in his house and the Lord had giuen him rest rounde about from all his enemies,
Il re, quando si fu stabilito nella sua casa, e il Signore gli ebbe dato tregua da tutti i suoi nemici all'intorno,
2 The King saide vnto Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, nowe I dwel in an house of cedar trees, and the Arke of God remayneth within the curtaines.
disse al profeta Natan: «Vedi, io abito in una casa di cedro, mentre l'arca di Dio sta sotto una tenda».
3 Then Nathan sayde vnto the King, Go, and doe all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.
Natan rispose al re: «Và, fà quanto hai in mente di fare, perché il Signore è con te».
4 And the same night the worde of the Lord came vnto Nathan, saying,
Ma quella stessa notte questa parola del Signore fu rivolta a Natan:
5 Goe and tell my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord, Shalt thou buylde me an house for my dwelling?
«Và e riferisci al mio servo Davide: Dice il Signore: Forse tu mi costruirai una casa, perché io vi abiti?
6 For I haue dwelt in no house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt vnto this day, but haue walked in a tent and tabernacle.
Ma io non ho abitato in una casa da quando ho fatto uscire gli Israeliti dall'Egitto fino ad oggi; sono andato vagando sotto una tenda, in un padiglione.
7 In al the places wherein I haue walked with all the children of Israel, spake I one worde with any of the tribes of Israel when I commanded the iudges to feede my people Israel? or sayde I, Why build ye not me an house of cedar trees?
Finché ho camminato, ora qua, ora là, in mezzo a tutti gli Israeliti, ho forse mai detto ad alcuno dei Giudici, a cui avevo comandato di pascere il mio popolo Israele: Perché non mi edificate una casa di cedro?
8 Nowe therefore so say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecote following the sheepe, that thou mightest bee ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel.
Ora dunque riferirai al mio servo Davide: Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: Io ti presi dai pascoli, mentre seguivi il gregge, perché tu fossi il capo d'Israele mio popolo;
9 And I was with thee wheresoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
sono stato con te dovunque sei andato; anche per il futuro distruggerò davanti a te tutti i tuoi nemici e renderò il tuo nome grande come quello dei grandi che sono sulla terra.
10 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and moue no more, neither shall wicked people trouble them any more as before time,
Fisserò un luogo a Israele mio popolo e ve lo pianterò perché abiti in casa sua e non sia più agitato e gli iniqui non lo opprimano come in passato,
11 And since the time that I set Iudges ouer my people of Israel) and I will giue thee rest from al thine enemies: also the Lord telleth thee, that he will make thee an house.
al tempo in cui avevo stabilito i Giudici sul mio popolo Israele e gli darò riposo liberandolo da tutti i suoi nemici. Te poi il Signore farà grande, poiché una casa farà a te il Signore.
12 And when thy daies bee fulfilled, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and I wil set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy body, and will stablish his kingdome.
Quando i tuoi giorni saranno compiuti e tu giacerai con i tuoi padri, io assicurerò dopo di te la discendenza uscita dalle tue viscere, e renderò stabile il suo regno.
13 He shall buyld an house for my Name, and I will stablish ye throne of his kingdome for euer.
Egli edificherà una casa al mio nome e io renderò stabile per sempre il trono del suo regno.
14 I will be his father, and hee shall bee my sonne: and if he sinne, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the plagues of the children of men.
Io gli sarò padre ed egli mi sarà figlio. Se farà il male, lo castigherò con verga d'uomo e con i colpi che danno i figli d'uomo,
15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee.
ma non ritirerò da lui il mio favore, come l'ho ritirato da Saul, che ho rimosso dal trono dinanzi a te.
16 And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.
La tua casa e il tuo regno saranno saldi per sempre davanti a me e il tuo trono sarà reso stabile per sempre».
17 According to all these wordes, and according to all this vision, Nathan spake thus vnto Dauid.
Natan parlò a Davide con tutte queste parole e secondo questa visione.
18 Then King Dauid went in, and sate before the Lord, and sayde, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
Allora il re Davide andò a presentarsi al Signore e disse: «Chi sono io, Signore Dio, e che cos'è mai la mia casa, perché tu mi abbia fatto arrivare fino a questo punto?
19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, therefore thou hast spoken also of thy seruants house for a great while: but doth this appertaine to man, O Lord God?
E questo è parso ancora poca cosa ai tuoi occhi, mio Signore: tu hai parlato anche della casa del tuo servo per un lontano avvenire: e questa è come legge dell'uomo, Signore Dio!
20 And what can Dauid say more vnto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy seruant.
Che potrebbe dirti di più Davide? Tu conosci il tuo servo, Signore Dio!
21 For thy words sake, and according to thine owne heart hast thou done all these great things, to make them knowen vnto thy seruant.
Per amore della tua parola e secondo il tuo cuore, hai compiuto tutte queste grandi cose, manifestandole al tuo servo.
22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that wee haue heard with our eares.
Tu sei davvero grande Signore Dio! Nessuno è come te e non vi è altro Dio fuori di te, proprio come abbiamo udito con i nostri orecchi.
23 And what one people in the earth is like thy people, like Israel? whose God went and redeemed them to himselfe, that they might be his people, and that hee might make him a name, and do for you great things, and terrible for thy land, O Lord, euen for thy people, whome thou redeemedst to thee out of Egypt, from the nations, and their gods?
E chi è come il tuo popolo, come Israele, unica nazione sulla terra che Dio è venuto a riscattare come popolo per sé e a dargli un nome? In suo favore hai operato cose grandi e tremende, per il tuo paese, per il tuo popolo che ti sei riscattato dall'Egitto, dai popoli e dagli dei.
24 For thou hast ordeyned to thy selfe thy people Israel to be thy people for euer: and thou Lord art become their God.
Tu hai stabilito il tuo popolo Israele per essere tuo popolo per sempre; tu, Signore, sei divenuto il suo Dio.
25 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, confirme for euer the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and his house, and doe as thou hast sayde.
Ora, Signore, la parola che hai pronunciata riguardo al tuo servo e alla sua casa, confermala per sempre e fà come hai detto.
26 And let thy Name bee magnified for euer by them that shall say, The Lord of hostes is the God ouer Israel: and let the house of thy seruant Dauid be stablished before thee.
Allora il tuo nome sarà magnificato per sempre così: Il Signore degli eserciti è il Dio d'Israele! La casa del tuo servo Davide sia dunque stabile davanti a te!
27 For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reueiled vnto thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy seruant bene bold to pray this prayer vnto thee.
Poiché tu, Signore degli eserciti, Dio d'Israele, hai fatto una rivelazione al tuo servo e gli hai detto: Io ti edificherò una casa! perciò il tuo servo ha trovato l'ardire di rivolgerti questa preghiera.
28 Therefore now, O Lord God, (for thou art God, and thy words be true, and thou hast tolde this goodnes vnto thy seruant)
Ora, Signore, tu sei Dio, le tue parole sono verità e hai promesso questo bene al tuo servo.
29 Therefore nowe let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may continue for euer before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and let the house of thy seruant be blessed for euer, with thy blessing.
Dègnati dunque di benedire ora la casa del tuo servo, perché sussista sempre dinanzi a te! Poiché tu, Signore, hai parlato e per la tua benedizione la casa del tuo servo sarà benedetta per sempre!».
