2 Samuel 7
1 Afterwarde when the King sate in his house and the Lord had giuen him rest rounde about from all his enemies,
Or il arriva qu'après que le Roi fut assis en sa maison, et que l'Eternel lui eut donné la paix avec tous ses ennemis d'alentour;
2 The King saide vnto Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, nowe I dwel in an house of cedar trees, and the Arke of God remayneth within the curtaines.
Il dit à Nathan le Prophète: Regarde maintenant, j'habite dans une maison de cèdres, et l'Arche de Dieu habite dans des courtines.
3 Then Nathan sayde vnto the King, Go, and doe all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.
Et Nathan dit au Roi: Va, fais tout ce qui est en ton cœur; car l'Eternel est avec toi.
4 And the same night the worde of the Lord came vnto Nathan, saying,
Mais il arriva cette nuit-là, que la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Nathan, en disant:
5 Goe and tell my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord, Shalt thou buylde me an house for my dwelling?
Va, et dis à David mon serviteur: Ainsi a dit l'Eternel: Me bâtirais-tu une maison afin que j'y habite,
6 For I haue dwelt in no house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt vnto this day, but haue walked in a tent and tabernacle.
Puisque je n'ai point habité dans une maison depuis le jour que j'ai fait monter les enfants d'Israël hors d'Egypte, jusqu'à ce jour? mais j'ai marché çà et là dans un Tabernacle, et dans un pavillon.
7 In al the places wherein I haue walked with all the children of Israel, spake I one worde with any of the tribes of Israel when I commanded the iudges to feede my people Israel? or sayde I, Why build ye not me an house of cedar trees?
Dans tous les lieux où j'ai marché avec tous les enfants d'Israël, en ai-je dit un seul mot à quelqu'une des Tribus d'Israël, à laquelle j'ai commandé de paître mon peuple d'Israël, en disant: Pourquoi ne m'avez-vous point bâti une maison de cèdres?
8 Nowe therefore so say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecote following the sheepe, that thou mightest bee ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel.
Maintenant donc tu diras ainsi à David mon serviteur: Ainsi a dit l'Eternel des armées: Je t'ai pris d'une cabane, d'après les brebis, afin que tu fusses le Conducteur de mon peuple d'Israël.
9 And I was with thee wheresoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
Et j'ai été avec toi partout où tu as marché, et j'ai exterminé tous tes ennemis de devant toi, et je t'ai tait un grand nom, comme le nom des grands qui sont sur la terre.
10 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and moue no more, neither shall wicked people trouble them any more as before time,
Et j'établirai un lieu à mon peuple d'Israël, je le planterai, il habitera chez soi, il ne sera plus agité, et les injustes ne les affligeront plus, comme ils ont fait auparavant,
11 And since the time that I set Iudges ouer my people of Israel) and I will giue thee rest from al thine enemies: also the Lord telleth thee, that he will make thee an house.
Savoir, depuis le jour que j'ai ordonné des juges sur mon peuple d'Israël, et que je t'ai donné du repos de tous tes ennemis, et que l'Eternel t'a fait entendre qu'il te bâtirait une maison.
12 And when thy daies bee fulfilled, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and I wil set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy body, and will stablish his kingdome.
Quand tes jours seront accomplis, et que tu te seras endormi avec tes pères, je susciterai après toi ton fils, qui sera sorti de tes entrailles, et j'affermirai son règne.
13 He shall buyld an house for my Name, and I will stablish ye throne of his kingdome for euer.
Ce sera lui qui bâtira une maison à mon Nom, et j'affermirai le trône de son règne à jamais.
14 I will be his father, and hee shall bee my sonne: and if he sinne, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the plagues of the children of men.
Je lui serai père, et il me sera fils; que s'il commet quelque iniquité, je le châtierai avec une verge d'homme, et de plaies des fils des hommes.
15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee.
Mais ma gratuité ne se retirera point de lui, comme je l'ai retirée de Saül, que j'ai ôté de devant toi.
16 And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.
Ainsi ta maison et ton règne seront assurés pour jamais devant tes yeux, [et] ton trône sera affermi à jamais.
17 According to all these wordes, and according to all this vision, Nathan spake thus vnto Dauid.
Nathan parla ainsi à David, selon toutes ces paroles, et selon toute cette vision.
18 Then King Dauid went in, and sate before the Lord, and sayde, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
Alors le Roi David entra, et se tint devant l'Eternel, et dit: Qui suis-je, ô Seigneur Eternel! et quelle est ma maison, que tu m'aies fait venir au point [où je suis]?
19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, therefore thou hast spoken also of thy seruants house for a great while: but doth this appertaine to man, O Lord God?
Et encore cela t'a semblé être peu de chose, ô Seigneur Eternel! car tu as même parlé de la maison de ton serviteur pour un long temps. Est-ce là la manière d'agir des hommes, ô Seigneur Eternel!
20 And what can Dauid say more vnto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy seruant.
Et que te pourrait dire davantage David? car, Seigneur Eternel, tu connais ton serviteur.
21 For thy words sake, and according to thine owne heart hast thou done all these great things, to make them knowen vnto thy seruant.
Tu as fait toutes ces grandes choses pour l'amour de ta parole, et selon ton cœur, afin de faire connaître ton serviteur.
22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that wee haue heard with our eares.
C'est pourquoi tu t'es montré grand, ô Eternel Dieu! car il n'y en a point de tel que toi, et il n'y a point d'autre Dieu que toi, selon tout ce que nous avons entendu de nos oreilles.
23 And what one people in the earth is like thy people, like Israel? whose God went and redeemed them to himselfe, that they might be his people, and that hee might make him a name, and do for you great things, and terrible for thy land, O Lord, euen for thy people, whome thou redeemedst to thee out of Egypt, from the nations, and their gods?
Et qui est comme ton peuple, comme Israël, la seule nation de la terre que Dieu est venu racheter, pour [en faire] son peuple, tant pour s'acquérir à lui-même un [grand] nom, que pour vous acquérir cette grandeur, et pour faire dans ton pays devant ton peuple, que tu t'es racheté d'Egypte, des choses terribles contre les nations et contre leurs dieux?
24 For thou hast ordeyned to thy selfe thy people Israel to be thy people for euer: and thou Lord art become their God.
Car tu t'es assuré ton peuple d'Israël, pour être ton peuple à jamais; et toi, ô Eternel! tu leur as été Dieu.
25 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, confirme for euer the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and his house, and doe as thou hast sayde.
Maintenant donc, ô Eternel Dieu! confirme pour jamais la parole que tu as prononcée touchant ton serviteur, et touchant sa maison, et fais comme tu en as parlé.
26 And let thy Name bee magnified for euer by them that shall say, The Lord of hostes is the God ouer Israel: and let the house of thy seruant Dauid be stablished before thee.
Et que ton Nom soit magnifié à jamais, tellement qu'on dise: L'Eternel des armées est le Dieu d'Israël; et que la maison de David ton serviteur demeure stable devant toi.
27 For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reueiled vnto thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy seruant bene bold to pray this prayer vnto thee.
Car toi, ô Eternel des armées! Dieu d'Israël! tu as fait entendre à ton serviteur, et tu lui as dit: Je te bâtirai une maison, c'est pourquoi ton serviteur a pris la hardiesse de te faire cette prière.
28 Therefore now, O Lord God, (for thou art God, and thy words be true, and thou hast tolde this goodnes vnto thy seruant)
Maintenant donc, Seigneur Eternel! tu es Dieu, tes paroles seront véritables; or tu as promis ce bien à ton serviteur.
29 Therefore nowe let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may continue for euer before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and let the house of thy seruant be blessed for euer, with thy blessing.
Veuille donc maintenant bénir la maison de ton serviteur, afin qu'elle soit éternellement devant toi; car tu en as ainsi parlé, Seigneur Eternel! et la maison de ton serviteur sera comblée de ta bénédiction éternellement.
