2 Samuel 5
1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to Dauid vnto Hebron, and said thus, Beholde, we are thy bones and thy flesh.
இஸ்ரயேலின் கோத்திரங்கள் அனைத்தும் எப்ரோனிலிருந்த தாவீதிடம் வந்து, “நாங்கள் உமது எலும்பும் உமது சதையுமாயிருக்கிறோம்.
2 And in time past when Saul was our King, thou leddest Israel in and out: and the Lord hath sayde to thee, Thou shalt feede my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captaine ouer Israel.
கடந்த நாட்களில் சவுல் எங்களுக்கு அரசனாயிருந்தபோது, இஸ்ரயேலின் இராணுவ நடவடிக்கைக்கு தலைமை வகித்து வழிநடத்தியவர் நீரே; அன்றியும் யெகோவா உம்மிடம், ‘நீ இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுக்கு மேய்ப்பனாகி அவர்களுக்கு ஆளுநனாவாய்’ என்றும் சொல்லியிருக்கிறாரே” என்றனர்.
3 So all the Elders of Israel came to the King to Hebron: and King Dauid made a couenant with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anoynted Dauid King ouer Israel.
இஸ்ரயேலின் முதியவர்கள் அனைவரும் எப்ரோனிலிருந்த தாவீது அரசனிடம் வந்தார்கள்; தாவீது அரசன் எப்ரோனில் யெகோவா முன்னிலையில் அவர்களுடன் ஒரு உடன்படிக்கையைச் செய்துகொண்டபின், அவர்கள் தாவீதை இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு அரசனாக அபிஷேகம் செய்தார்கள்.
4 Dauid was thirtie yeere olde when he began to reigne: and hee reigned fortie yeere.
தாவீது அரசனானபோது முப்பது வயதுடையவனாயிருந்தான். அவன் நாற்பது வருடங்கள் அரசாண்டான்.
5 In Hebron hee reigned ouer Iudah seuen yeere, and sixe moneths: and in Ierusalem hee reigned thirtie and three yeeres ouer all Israel and Iudah.
அவன் எப்ரோனில் யூதாவை ஏழு வருடம் ஆறு மாதமும், எருசலேமில் இஸ்ரயேலர் அனைவரையும், யூதாவையும் முப்பத்துமூன்று வருடங்களும் அரசாண்டான்.
6 The King also and his men went to Ierusalem vnto the Iebusites, the inhabitants of the land: who spake vnto Dauid, saying, Except thou take away the blinde and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking that Dauid coulde not come thither.
அரசர் தன் மனிதருடன் படையெடுத்து எருசலேமுக்குப் போய் அங்கே குடியிருந்த எபூசியரை தாக்குவதற்குச் சென்றான். எபூசியர் தாவீதிடம், “உன்னால் இங்கு உள்ளே வரமுடியாது. இங்குள்ள குருடரும், முடவரும் உன்னைத் துரத்திவிடுவார்கள்” என்றார்கள். தாவீதினால் உள்ளே வரமுடியாது என அவர்கள் நினைத்தார்கள்.
7 But Dauid tooke the fort of Zion: this is the citie of Dauid.
ஆனாலும் தாவீதின் நகரமான சீயோன் கோட்டையை தாவீது கைப்பற்றினான்.
8 Nowe Dauid had sayd the same day, Whosoeuer smiteth the Iebusites, and getteth vp to the gutters and smiteth the lame and blinde, which Dauids soule hateth, I will preferre him: therefore they saide, The blinde and the lame shall not come into that house.
அன்றையதினம் தாவீது, “எபூசியரை முறியடிப்பவன் எவனும் தாவீதின் பகைவர்களான குருடரையும், முடவரையும் எதிர்ப்பதற்கு நீர்க்குழாய் வழியாக ஏறிப்போகவேண்டும்” எனச் சொல்லியிருந்தான். இதனால்தான் குருடரும், முடவரும் அரண்மனைக்குள்ளே போகக்கூடாது என்பார்கள்.
9 So Dauid dwelt in that forte, and called it the citie of Dauid, and Dauid built rounde about it, from Millo, and inward.
பின்பு தாவீது அந்த கோட்டையில் வாழ்ந்து, அதைத் தாவீதின் நகரம் என அழைத்தான். அவன் அதைச் சுற்றிலும் மில்லோவிலிருந்து உட்புறமாக மதிலைக் கட்டினான்.
10 And Dauid prospered and grewe: for the Lord God of hostes was with him.
சேனைகளின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா தாவீதோடு இருந்தபடியால் அவன் மென்மேலும் வலிமையடைந்தான்.
11 Hiram also king of Tyrus sent messengers to Dauid, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons for walles: and they built Dauid an house.
தீருவின் அரசனான ஈராம் தன் தூதுவர்களோடு கேதுரு மரத்தடிகளையும், தச்சர்களையும், கல்வேலை செய்வோரையும் தாவீதிடம் அனுப்பினான். அவர்கள் தாவீதிற்கு ஒரு அரண்மனையைக் கட்டினார்கள்.
12 Then Dauid knewe that the Lord had stablished him King ouer Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdome for his people Israels sake.
யெகோவா தன்னை இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு அரசனாக உறுதிப்படுத்தினார் என்றும், தன் மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலருக்காக தனது ஆட்சியை மேன்மைப்படுத்தினார் என்றும் தாவீது அப்பொழுது அறிந்துகொண்டான்.
13 And Dauid tooke him more concubines and wiues out of Ierusalem, after hee was come from Hebron, and more sonnes and daughters were borne to Dauid.
தாவீது எப்ரோனில் இருந்து புறப்பட்ட பின்பு, எருசலேமிலே இன்னும் பல மனைவிகளையும் வைப்பாட்டிகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டான். அவர்கள்மூலம் அவனுக்கு மேலும் பல மகன்களும் மகள்களும் பிறந்தார்கள்.
14 And these bee the names of the sonnes that were borne vnto him in Ierusale: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Salomon,
எருசலேமில் அவனுக்குப் பிறந்த பிள்ளைகளின் பெயர்கள்: சம்மூவா, ஷோபாப், நாத்தான், சாலொமோன்,
15 And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Iaphia,
இப்கார், எலிசூவா, நெப்பேக், யப்பியா,
16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
எலிஷாமா, எலியாதா, எலிப்பேலேத் என்பனவாகும்.
17 But when the Philistims hearde that they had anoynted Dauid King ouer Israel, all the Philistims came vp to seeke Dauid: and when Dauid heard, he went downe to a fort.
தாவீது இஸ்ரயேலரின் அரசனாக அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டதை பெலிஸ்தியர் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவர்கள் அனைவரும் தங்கள் எல்லா படைப்பலத்தோடும் அவனைத் தேடிச்சென்றார்கள். அதைக் கேள்விப்பட்ட தாவீதோ அரணான இடத்திற்குப் போனான்.
18 But the Philistims came, and spred themselues in the valley of Rephaim.
பெலிஸ்தியரோ ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே வந்து, அங்கே பரவி இருந்தார்கள்.
19 Then Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shall I goe vp to the Philistims? wilt thou deliuer them into mine handes? And the Lord answered Dauid, Goe vp: for I will doubtlesse deliuer the Philistims into thine handes.
அப்பொழுது தாவீது யெகோவாவிடம், “நான் பெலிஸ்தியரை எதிர்க்கப் போகலாமா? அவர்களை எனது கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பீரா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு யெகோவா, “நீ போ, நிச்சயமாக நான் பெலிஸ்தியரை உன் கையில் ஒப்படைப்பேன்” என்றார்.
20 Then Dauid came to Baal-perazim, and smote them there, and sayde, The Lord hath deuided mine enemies asunder before mee, as waters be deuided asunder: therefore he called the name of that place, Baal-perazim.
எனவே தாவீது பாகால் பிராசீமுக்குப்போய் பெலிஸ்தியரை அங்கே தோற்கடித்தான். அப்பொழுது அவன், “தண்ணீர் மடை திறந்தோடுவதுபோல, யெகோவா என் பகைவரை எனக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்தோடப்பண்ணினார்” என்றான். எனவே அந்த இடம் பாகால் பிராசீம் என அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
21 And there they left their images, and Dauid and his men burnt them.
அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தியர் தங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களைக் கைவிட்டார்கள். அவற்றைத் தாவீதும் அவன் மனிதர்களும் எடுத்துச் சென்றார்கள்.
22 Againe the Philistims came vp, and spred themselues in the valley of Rephaim.
பெலிஸ்தியர் மீண்டும் வந்து ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பரந்து காத்திருந்தார்கள்.
23 And when Dauid asked counsell of the Lord, hee answered, Thou shalt not goe vp, but turne about behinde them, and come vpon them ouer against the mulberie trees.
எனவே தாவீது யெகோவாவிடம் விசாரித்தபோது, அதற்கு அவர், “நீ அவர்களை நேருக்குநேராக தாக்காமல், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னாகச் சுற்றிப்போய் குங்கிலிய மரங்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்து தாக்கு;
24 And when thou hearest the noyse of one going in the toppes of the mulberie trees, then remoue: for then shall the Lord goe out before thee, to smite the hoste of the Philistims.
குங்கிலிய மரங்களின் உச்சியில் சலசலக்கும் இரைச்சலைக் கேட்கும்போது விரைவாகச் செல்வாயாக. ஏனெனில், இதுவே பெலிஸ்தியரின் படையைத் தாக்குவதற்கு யெகோவா உனக்குமுன் போயிருக்கிறார் என்பதற்கு அடையாளம்” என்றார்.
25 Then Dauid did so as the Lord had commanded him, and smote the Philistims from Geba, vntil thou come to Gazer.
எனவே யெகோவா கட்டளையிட்டபடியே தாவீது செய்தான், பெலிஸ்தியரை கிபியோன் தொடங்கி கேசேர் எல்லைவரை துரத்தி முறியடித்தான்.
