< 2 Samuel 24 >
1 And the wrath of the Lord was againe kindled against Israel, and he moued Dauid against them, in that he saide, Goe, number Israel and Iudah.
Ọzọkwa, Onyenwe anyị were iwe dị ọkụ megide Izrel. Ọ kpaliri Devid imegide ha, sị, “Gaa gụọ Izrel na Juda ọnụ.”
2 For the King said to Ioab the captaine of the hoste, which was with him, Goe speedily now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan euen to Beer-sheba, and nomber ye the people, that I may knowe the nomber of the people.
Ya mere, eze gwara Joab na ndịisi ọchịagha ya ha so, “Jegharịa nʼebo niile nke Izrel, site na Dan ruo Bịasheba, gụkọtaa ndị tozuru ije agha nʼIzrel niile ka m nwee ike mata ole ọnụọgụgụ ha dị.”
3 And Ioab saide vnto the King, The Lord thy God increase the people an hundreth folde more then they be, and that the eyes of my lorde the King may see it: but why doeth my lord the King desire this thing?
Joab zaghachiri eze, “Ka Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke gị, mee ka ndị agha mụbaa, otu onye narị ụzọ, otu onye narị ụzọ karịa. Ka anya onyenwe m, bụ eze, hụkwa ya. Ma nʼihi gịnị ka onyenwe m bụ eze ji chọọ ime ihe dị otu a?”
4 Notwithstanding the Kings worde preuailed against Ioab and against the captaines of the hoste: therefore Ioab and the captaines of the hoste went out from the presence of the King to nomber the people of Israel.
Ma okwu eze dị ike karịa nke Joab na nke ndị ọchịagha ahụ. Ya mere, ha hapụrụ ihu eze pụọ ịgụ ndị agha Izrel ọnụ.
5 And they passed ouer Iorden, and pitched in Aroer at the right side of the citie that is in the middes of the valley of Gad and toward Iazer.
Mgbe ha gabigachara Jọdan, ha manyere ụlọ ikwu ha na nso Aroea, nʼaka nri obodo ahụ dị nʼetiti ndagwurugwu Gad na-eru Jeza,
6 Then they came to Gilead, and to Tahtim-hodshi, so they came to Dan Iaan, and so about to Zidon,

7 And came to the fortresse of Tyrus and to all the cities of the Hiuites and of the Canaanites, and went towarde the South of Iudah, euen to Beer-sheba.
Ha jere ruokwa nʼebe e wusiri ike nke Taịa, na obodo niile nke ndị Hiv, na nke ndị Kenan. Nʼikpeazụ, ha gaara ruo Bịasheba nʼime ndịda Juda.
8 So when they had gone about all the lande, they returned to Ierusalem at the ende of nine moneths and twentie dayes.
Mgbe ha jegharịchara nʼala ahụ niile; ha lọghachitere na Jerusalem na ngwụcha ọnwa nke itoolu na iri abalị abụọ ya.
9 And Ioab deliuered the nomber and summe of the people vnto the King: and there were in Israel eight hundreth thousande strong men that drewe swordes, and the men of Iudah were fiue hundreth thousand men.
Joab nyere eze ngụkọta ọnụọgụgụ nke ndị agha Izrel. NʼIzrel, ha dị narị puku asatọ, bụ ndị ikom ndị tozuru iji mma agha buo agha, na Juda ha dị narị puku ise.
10 Then Dauids heart smote him, after that he had numbred the people: and Dauid said vnto the Lord, I haue sinned exceedingly in that I haue done: therefore nowe, Lord, I beseech thee, take away the trespasse of thy seruant: for I haue done very foolishly.
Ma obi Devid bidoro ịta ya ụta mgbe ọ gụchara ndị ikom na-alụ agha ọnụ. Ọ sịrị Onyenwe anyị, “Emehiela m nke ukwuu nʼihi ihe m mere. Ma ugbu a, Onyenwe anyị biko, arịọ m gị, wezuga ikpe ọmụma nke dịịrị ohu gị; nʼihi na emeela m ihe nzuzu dị ukwuu.”
11 And when Dauid was vp in the morning, the worde of the Lord came vnto the Prophet Gad Dauids Seer, saying,
Nʼụtụtụ echi ya, tupu Devid na-eteta nʼụra, okwu Onyenwe anyị eruola Gad onye amụma, bụ onye ọhụ ụzọ Devid, sị,
12 Go, and say vnto Dauid, Thus saith ye Lord, I offer thee three thinges, chuse thee which of them I shall doe vnto thee.
“Gaa gwa Devid, ‘Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu: Ụzọ ihe atọ ka m na-eche gị nʼihu. Họrọ otu nʼime ha nke m ga-eme ka ọ bịakwasị gị.’”
13 So Gad came to Dauid, and shewed him, and said vnto him, Wilt thou that seuen yeeres famine come vpon thee in thy lande, or wilt thou flee three moneths before thine enemies, they following thee, or that there bee three dayes pestilence in thy land? nowe aduise thee, and see, what answere I shall giue to him that sent me.
Ya mere, Gad jekwuuru Devid sị ya, “Ọ bụ ka oke ụnwụ ịda nʼala gị afọ atọ? Ka ọ bụ na ị ga-agbalaga site nʼihu ndị iro gị ọnwa atọ, ka ha na-achụ gị ọsọ? Ka ọ bụ ka ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe daa nʼala gị mkpụrụ ụbọchị atọ? Ugbu a, chee echiche, kpebie ọsịsa ị chọrọ ka m weghachiri onye ahụ zitere m.”
14 And Dauid said vnto Gad, I am in a wonderfull strait: let vs fall nowe into the hand of the Lord, (for his mercies are great) and let mee not fall into the hand of man.
Devid sịrị Gad, “Anọ m nʼoke nsogbu, ọ ka mma ka anyị daba nʼaka Onyenwe anyị karịa ịdaba nʼaka mmadụ, nʼihi na obi ebere ya bara ụba.”
15 So the Lord sent a pestilece in Israel, from the morning euen to the time appointed: and there dyed of the people from Dan euen to Beer-sheba seuentie thousand men.
Nʼihi ya, Onyenwe anyị zitere ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe nʼala Izrel, site nʼụtụtụ ahụ ruo oge akara aka. Ọ bụ iri puku mmadụ asaa nwụrụ site na Dan ruo Bịasheba.
16 And when the Angel stretched out his hande vpon Ierusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented of the euil, and said to the Angel that destroyed the people, It is sufficient, holde nowe thine hand. And the Angel of the Lord was by the threshing place of Araunah the Iebusite.
Mgbe mmụọ ozi ahụ setịpụrụ aka ya ibibi Jerusalem, o wutere Onyenwe anyị nʼihi oke mbibi ahụ. Ọ sịrị mmụọ ozi ahụ nke na-eweta nhụju anya nye ndị mmadụ, “O zuola. Seghachi aka gị.” Mgbe ahụ, mmụọ ozi Onyenwe anyị nọ nʼebe ịzọcha ọka Arauna onye Jebus.
17 And Dauid spake vnto the Lord (when he sawe the Angel that smote the people) and saide, Behold, I haue sinned, yea, I haue done wickedly: but these sheepe, what haue they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against mee and against my fathers house.
18 So Gad came the same day to Dauid, and said vnto him, Go vp, reare an altar vnto the Lord in the threshing floore of Araunah the Iebusite.
Nʼụbọchị ahụ, Gad bịara nʼụlọ Devid gwa ya sị, “Gaa, wuore Onyenwe anyị ebe ịchụ aja nʼebe ịzọcha ọka Arauna, onye Jebus.”
19 And Dauid (according to the saying of Gad) went vp, as the Lord had commanded.
Ya mere, Devid rubere isi gaa mee dịka iwu Onyenwe anyị nyere site nʼọnụ Gad.
20 And Araunah looked, and sawe the King and his seruants comming towarde him, and Araunah went out, and bowed himselfe before the King on his face to the ground,
Mgbe Arauna weliri anya hụ eze na ndị ọrụ ya ka ha na-abịa nʼebe ọ nọ, ọ pụtara kpọọ isiala nye eze. Kpudokwa ihu ya nʼala.
21 And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the King come to his seruant? Then Dauid answered, To bye the threshing floore of thee for to builde an altar vnto the Lord, that the plague may cease from the people.
Arauna sịrị, “Gịnị mere onyenwe m, bụ eze ji bịakwute ohu ya?” Devid zaghachiri, “Abịara m ịzụrụ ebe ịzọcha ọka gị, ka m nwee ike wuore Onyenwe anyị ebe ịchụ aja; ka akwụsị ọrịa a na-efe efe dakwasịrị ndị mmadụ.”
22 Then Araunah saide vnto Dauid, Let my lord the King take and offer what seemeth him good in his eyes: beholde the oxen for the burnt offring, and charets, and the instruments of the oxen for wood.
Arauna sịrị Devid, “Ka onyenwe m, bụ eze were ihe ọbụla ọ chọrọ, werekwa chụọ aja. Lee ehi maka iji chụọ aja nsure ọkụ, leekwa ihe igwe ịzọcha ọka niile, na osisi ndị ahụ niile a na-anyanye ehi nʼolu, ka ha bụrụ nkụ.
23 (All these things did Araunah as a King giue vnto the King: and Araunah saide vnto the King, The Lord thy God be fauourable vnto thee)
Eze, ihe ndị a niile ka mụ bụ Arauna na-enye eze, ka Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị nabatakwa gị.”
24 Then the King saide vnto Araunah, Not so, but I will bye it of thee at a price, and will not offer burnt offring vnto ye Lord my God of that which doeth cost me nothing. So Dauid bought the threshing floore, and the oxen for fiftie shekels of siluer.
Ma eze zaghachiri Arauna, “Ee, aghaghị m ịkwụzu gị ụgwụ ya, nʼihi na agaghị m achụrụ Onyenwe anyị, bụ Chineke m aja nsure ọkụ nke na-agaghị efu m ihe ọbụla.” Ya mere, Devid zụrụ ebe ịzọcha ọka ahụ na ehi ahụ niile, kwụọ Arauna iri shekel ọlaọcha ise, nʼihi ha.
25 And Dauid built there an altar vnto the Lord, and offred burnt offrings and peace offrings, and the Lord was appeased toward ye lande, and the plague ceased from Israel.
Devid wuru ebe ịchụrụ Onyenwe anyị aja nʼebe ahụ. Chụọkwa aja nsure ọkụ na aja udo. Mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị zara ekpere o kpere nʼihi ala ahụ. Nrịa nrịa ahụ na-efe efe nke dakwasịrị Izrel kwụsịkwara.
