< 2 Samuel 20 >

1 Then there was come thither a wicked man (named Sheba the sonne of Bichri, a man of Iemini) and hee blew the trumpet, and saide, Wee haue no part in Dauid, neither haue we inheritance in the sonne of Ishai: euery man to his tents, O Israel.
I LAILA kekahi kanaka hewa, o Seba kona inoa, ke keiki a Bikeri, he mamo a Beniamina: puhi aku la ia i ka pu, i aku la, Aole a kakou kuleana iloko o Davida, aole hoi he hooilina iloko o ke keiki a Iese: e hoi no kela kanaka keia kanaka a pau i kona halelewa, e ka Iseraela.
2 So euery man of Israel went from Dauid and followed Sheba the sonne of Bichri: but the men of Iudah claue fast vnto their King, from Iorden euen to Ierusalem.
3 When Dauid then came to his house to Ierusalem, the King tooke the ten women his concubines, that hee had left behinde him to keepe the house, and put them in warde, and fed them, but lay no more with them: but they were enclosed vnto the day of their death, liuing in widowhode.
4 Then sayde the King to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Iudah within three dayes, and be thou here present.
Alaila i aku la ke alii ia Amasa, E houluulu oe no'u i na kanaka o ka Iuda i na la ekolu, a e hoi hou mai maanei.
5 So Amasa went to assemble Iudah, but hee taried longer then the time which he had appoynted him.
Alaila hele aku la o Amasa e houluulu i ka Iuda: aka, ua lohi kela a hala ka manawa i haawiia nona.
6 Then Dauid sayd to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the sonne of Bichri doe vs more harme then did Absalom: take thou therefore thy lords seruants and follow after him, lest he get him walled cities, and escape vs.
I aku la o Davida ia Abisai, Ano, e oi aku ke ino a Seba ke keiki a Bikeri e hana mai ai ia kakou mamua o ka Abesaloma: e lawe oe i na kauwa a kou haku, a e alualu aku ia ia, o loaa ia ia na kulanakauhale i paa i ka pa, a hoopakele ia ia iho mai o kakou aku.
7 And there went out after him Ioabs men, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and all the mightie men: and they departed out of Ierusalem, to follow after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
A hele aku la mamuli ona na kanaka o Ioaba, me ka poe Kereti a me ka poe Peleti, a me ka poe kanaka ikaika a pau: puka aku la lakou iwaho o Ierusalema e alualu ia Seba ke keiki a Bikeri.
8 When they were at the great stone, which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them, and Ioabs garment, that hee had put on, was girded vnto him, and vpon it was a sword girded, which hanged on his loynes in the sheath, and as hee went, it vsed to fall out.
9 And Ioab sayde to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? and Ioab tooke Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kisse him.
10 But Amasa tooke no heede to the sworde that was in Ioabs hande: for therewith he smote him in the fift rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and smote him not the second time: so he dyed. then Ioab and Abishai his brother followed after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
Aole i manao o Amasa i ka pahikaua ma ka lima o Ioaba: hou aku la kela ia ia me ia mea ma ka lima o ka iwiaoao, a poha mai la kona naau ma ka honua, aole ia i hou hou aku ia ia; a make aku la ia. A alualu aku la o Ioaba a me Abisai kona hoahanau ia Seba ke keiki a Bikeri.
11 And one of Ioabs men stoode by him, and saide, He that fauoureth Ioab, and hee that is of Dauids part, let him go after Ioab.
Ku mai la kekahi kanaka o Ioaba ma ona la, i mai la, O ka mea makemake ia Ioaba, a o ka mea no Davida, mamuli ia o Ioaba.
12 And Amasa wallowed in blood in the mids of the way: and when the man sawe that all the people stood still, he remooued Amasa out of the way into the fielde, and cast a cloth vpon him, because he saw that euery one that came by him, stoode still.
Oni ae la o Amasa maloko o ke koko, iwaena o ke kuamoo. A ike ae la ua kanaka la, ua ku malie iho la na kanaka a pau, lawe aku la oia ia Amasa mawaho o ke kuamoo i ke kula, a hohola iho la i ke kapa maluna ona, i kona ike ana ua ku malie kela kanaka keia kanaka i hele mai ma ona la.
13 When hee was remoued out of the way, euerie man went after Ioab, to follow after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
A laweia'ku ia mawaho o ke kuamoo, alaila hele aku la na kanaka a pau mahope o Ioaba, e alualu ia Seba ke keiki a Bikeri.
14 And he went through all the tribes of Israel vnto Abel, and Bethmaachah and all places of Berim: and they gathered together, and went also after him.
15 So they came, and besieged him in Abel, neere to Bethmaachah: and they cast vp a mount against the citie, and the people thereof stood on the ramper, and al the people that was with Ioab, destroyed and cast downe the wall.
16 Then cried a wise woman out of the citie, Heare, heare, I pray you, say vnto Ioab, Come thou hither, that I may speake with thee.
Alaila, hea mai la kekahi wahine naauao mailoko mai o ke kulanakauhale, E hoolohe mai, e hoolohe mai; ke noi aku nei au ia oukou, e i aku ia Ioaba, E hele mai a kokoke, i olelo aku ai au me oe.
17 And when hee came neere vnto her, the woman said, Art thou Ioab? And he answered, Yea. And she said to him, Heare the wordes of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do heare.
A hiki aku la ia a kokoke io na la, i mai la ka wahine, O Ioaba anei oe? I aku la ia, Owau no. Alaila i mai la kela, E hoolohe mai oe i ka olelo a kau kauwawahine. I aku la ia, Ke lohe nei au.
18 Then shee spake thus, They spake in the olde time, saying, They shoulde aske of Abel. and so haue they continued.
Olelo mai la kela, i mai la, I olelo io mai la lakou mamua, i ka i ana, He oiaio no e ninau mai ana lakou ma Abela, a pela e hooki ai.
19 I am one of them, that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: and thou goest about to destroy a citie, and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou deuoure the inheritance of the Lord?
Owau no ke noho malie a me ka malama iloko o ka Iseraela: ke manao nei oe e luku mai i kekahi kulanakauhale a me ka makuwahine iloko o ka Iseraela. No ke aha la oe e hoopau ai i ka aina a Iehova i hooili mai ai?
20 And Ioab answered, and said, God forbid, God forbid it me, that I should deuoure, or destroy it.
Olelo aku la o Ioaba, i aku la, Aole loa, aole loa ia'u ia ke hoopau iho, aole loa ke luku aku.
21 The matter is not so, but a man of mout Ephraim (Sheba ye sonne of Bichri by name) hath lift vp his had against ye King, euen against Dauid: deliuer vs him onely, and I will depart from the citie. And the woman saide vnto Ioab, Beholde, his head shalbe throwen to thee ouer the wall.
Aole pela ka mea; aka, he wahi kanaka no ka mauna o Eperaima, o Seba ke keiki a Bikeri ka inoa, ua hookiekie ae ia i kona lima e ku e i ke alii ia Davida: e haawi mai ia ia wale no, a e hoi hou aku no wau mai ke kulanakauhale aku. I mai la ka wahine ia Ioaba, Eia hoi, e kiolaia'ku kona poo i ou la mawaho o ka pa.
22 Then the woman went vnto all the people with her wisedome, and they cut off the head of Sheba the sonne of Bichri, and cast it to Ioab: the he blewe the trumpet, and they retired from the citie, euery man to his tent: and Ioab returned to Ierusalem vnto the King.
23 Then Ioab was ouer all the hoste of Israel, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada ouer the Cherethites and ouer the Pelethies,
A o Ioaba, maluna no ia o ka poe kaua a pau no ka Iseraela: a o Benaia ke keiki a Iehoida, maluna no ia o ka poe Kereti a me ka poe Peleti.
24 And Adoram ouer the tribute, and Ioshaphat the sonne of Ahilud the recorder,
A o Adorama, maluna no ia o ke auhau: a o lehosapata ke keiki a Ahiluda ke kakaumooolelo:
25 And Sheia was Scribe, and Zadok and Abiathar the Priests,
A o Seva ke kakauolelo: a o Zadoka me Abiatara na kahuna:
26 And also Ira the Iairite was chiefe about Dauid.
A o Ira hoi no Iaira, kekahi alii ia no Davida.
