2 Samuel 20
1 Then there was come thither a wicked man (named Sheba the sonne of Bichri, a man of Iemini) and hee blew the trumpet, and saide, Wee haue no part in Dauid, neither haue we inheritance in the sonne of Ishai: euery man to his tents, O Israel.
Nun war daselbst von ungefähr ein nichtswürdiger Mensch, namens Seba, ein Sohn Bichris, eines Mannes von Benjamin, der stieß in die Posaune und sprach: Wir haben keinen Teil an David, noch Erbe am Sohne Isais; ein jeder begebe sich zu seinen Zelten, ihr Israeliten!
2 So euery man of Israel went from Dauid and followed Sheba the sonne of Bichri: but the men of Iudah claue fast vnto their King, from Iorden euen to Ierusalem.
Da fielen alle Israeliten von David ab und folgten Seba, dem Sohne Bichris. Aber die Männer von Juda hingen an ihrem König, vom Jordan an bis gen Jerusalem.
3 When Dauid then came to his house to Ierusalem, the King tooke the ten women his concubines, that hee had left behinde him to keepe the house, and put them in warde, and fed them, but lay no more with them: but they were enclosed vnto the day of their death, liuing in widowhode.
Als aber der König David zu seinem Hause kam in Jerusalem, nahm er die zehn Kebsweiber, die er zurückgelassen hatte, das Haus zu hüten, und tat sie in Verwahrung und versorgte sie; er ging aber nicht mehr zu ihnen; und sie blieben eingeschlossen bis an den Tag ihres Todes und lebten als Witwen.
4 Then sayde the King to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Iudah within three dayes, and be thou here present.
Und der König sprach zu Amasa: Berufe mir alle Männer von Juda auf den dritten Tag, und darnach stelle dich hier wieder ein!
5 So Amasa went to assemble Iudah, but hee taried longer then the time which he had appoynted him.
Und Amasa ging hin, Juda einzuberufen; aber er verzog, auf die bestimmte Zeit zu kommen.
6 Then Dauid sayd to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the sonne of Bichri doe vs more harme then did Absalom: take thou therefore thy lords seruants and follow after him, lest he get him walled cities, and escape vs.
Da sprach David zu Abisai: Nun wird uns Seba, der Sohn Bichris, mehr Schaden tun als Absalom! Nimm du die Knechte deines Herrn und jage ihm nach, daß er nicht etwa feste Städte für sich gewinne und so unsern Augen entrinne!
7 And there went out after him Ioabs men, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and all the mightie men: and they departed out of Ierusalem, to follow after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
Da zogen aus, ihm nach, die Männer Joabs und die Kreter und Pleter und alle Helden; sie zogen aus von Jerusalem, um Seba, dem Sohne Bichris, nachzujagen.
8 When they were at the great stone, which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them, and Ioabs garment, that hee had put on, was girded vnto him, and vpon it was a sword girded, which hanged on his loynes in the sheath, and as hee went, it vsed to fall out.
Als sie aber bei dem großen Steine zu Gibeon waren, kam ihnen Amasa entgegen; Joab aber war mit seinem Waffenrock bekleidet und hatte darüber ein Schwert gegürtet; das hing an seiner Hüfte in der Scheide und glitt hervor und fiel heraus.
9 And Ioab sayde to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? and Ioab tooke Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kisse him.
Und Joab sprach zu Amasa: Geht es dir wohl, mein Bruder? Und Joab faßte mit seiner rechten Hand Amasa beim Bart, um ihn zu küssen.
10 But Amasa tooke no heede to the sworde that was in Ioabs hande: for therewith he smote him in the fift rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and smote him not the second time: so he dyed. then Ioab and Abishai his brother followed after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
Amasa aber achtete nicht auf das Schwert in Joabs Hand; und der stach ihn damit in den Bauch, daß sich seine Eingeweide auf die Erde ergossen; und er starb, ohne daß jener ihm noch einen Stich gab. Joab aber und sein Bruder Abisai jagten Seba, dem Sohne Bichris, nach.
11 And one of Ioabs men stoode by him, and saide, He that fauoureth Ioab, and hee that is of Dauids part, let him go after Ioab.
Es trat aber einer von den Burschen Joabs neben Amasa und sprach: Wer Joab liebt und es mit David hält, der folge Joab nach!
12 And Amasa wallowed in blood in the mids of the way: and when the man sawe that all the people stood still, he remooued Amasa out of the way into the fielde, and cast a cloth vpon him, because he saw that euery one that came by him, stoode still.
Amasa aber wälzte sich in seinem Blute mitten auf der Straße. Als aber der Mann sah, daß alles Volk daselbst stehenblieb, schob er Amasa von der Straße auf den Acker und warf Kleider auf ihn, weil er sah, daß alle Vorübergehenden stehen blieben.
13 When hee was remoued out of the way, euerie man went after Ioab, to follow after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
Als er nun von der Straße weggeschafft war, folgte jedermann Joab nach, um Seba, dem Sohne Bichris, nachzujagen.
14 And he went through all the tribes of Israel vnto Abel, and Bethmaachah and all places of Berim: and they gathered together, and went also after him.
Der zog durch alle Stämme Israels bis nach Abel-Beth-Maacha; und alle Beriter versammelten sich und folgten ihm auch nach.
15 So they came, and besieged him in Abel, neere to Bethmaachah: and they cast vp a mount against the citie, and the people thereof stood on the ramper, and al the people that was with Ioab, destroyed and cast downe the wall.
Jene aber kamen und belagerten ihn zu Abel-Beth-Maacha, und sie warfen einen Wall um die Stadt bis an die Mauern hin. Und alles Volk, das mit Joab war, stürmte und wollte die Mauer niederwerfen.
16 Then cried a wise woman out of the citie, Heare, heare, I pray you, say vnto Ioab, Come thou hither, that I may speake with thee.
Da rief eine weise Frau aus der Stadt: Höret, höret! Saget doch zu Joab: Komm hierher, ich will mit dir reden!
17 And when hee came neere vnto her, the woman said, Art thou Ioab? And he answered, Yea. And she said to him, Heare the wordes of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do heare.
Als er sich ihr nun näherte, sprach die Frau: Bist du Joab? Er sprach: Ich bin's! Sie sprach zu ihm: Höre die Rede deiner Magd! Er sprach: Ich höre!
18 Then shee spake thus, They spake in the olde time, saying, They shoulde aske of Abel. and so haue they continued.
Sie sprach: Vor Zeiten pflegte man zu sagen: Man frage doch in Abel! Und so führte man es auch aus.
19 I am one of them, that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: and thou goest about to destroy a citie, and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou deuoure the inheritance of the Lord?
Ich bin eine von den friedsamen, getreuen [Städten] in Israel, und du willst eine Stadt und Mutter Israels umbringen? Warum willst du das Erbteil des HERRN verderben?
20 And Ioab answered, and said, God forbid, God forbid it me, that I should deuoure, or destroy it.
Joab antwortete und sprach: Das sei ferne, das sei ferne von mir, daß ich sie vernichten und verderben sollte!
21 The matter is not so, but a man of mout Ephraim (Sheba ye sonne of Bichri by name) hath lift vp his had against ye King, euen against Dauid: deliuer vs him onely, and I will depart from the citie. And the woman saide vnto Ioab, Beholde, his head shalbe throwen to thee ouer the wall.
Die Sache verhält sich nicht so; sondern ein Mann vom Gebirge Ephraim, namens Seba, der Sohn Bichris, hat sich wider den König David empört. Gebet denselben allein heraus, so will ich von der Stadt abziehen! Die Frau sprach zu Joab: Siehe, sein Haupt soll zu dir über die Mauer hinausgeworfen werden!
22 Then the woman went vnto all the people with her wisedome, and they cut off the head of Sheba the sonne of Bichri, and cast it to Ioab: the he blewe the trumpet, and they retired from the citie, euery man to his tent: and Ioab returned to Ierusalem vnto the King.
Und die Frau ging hinein zu allem Volk in ihrer Weisheit. Da hieben sie Seba, dem Sohne Bichris, den Kopf ab und warfen ihn Joab zu. Der stieß in die Posaune; und sie zerstreuten sich von der Stadt, ein jeder zu seinem Zelte. Joab aber kehrte wieder nach Jerusalem zum König zurück.
23 Then Ioab was ouer all the hoste of Israel, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada ouer the Cherethites and ouer the Pelethies,
Und Joab war über das ganze Heer Israels gesetzt und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, über die Kreter und Pleter.
24 And Adoram ouer the tribute, and Ioshaphat the sonne of Ahilud the recorder,
Adoram aber war über die Fron gesetzt; und Josaphat, der Sohn Achiluds, war Kanzler.
25 And Sheia was Scribe, and Zadok and Abiathar the Priests,
Aber Seja war Schreiber, und Zadok und Abjatar waren Priester.
26 And also Ira the Iairite was chiefe about Dauid.
Auch Ira, der Iairiter, war ein Priester Davids.
