2 Peter 1
1 Simon Peter a seruant and an Apostle of Iesus Christ, to you which haue obteined like precious faith with vs by the righteousnesse of our God and Sauiour Iesus Christ:

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you, through the acknowledging of God, and of Iesus our Lord,
ii"svarasyaasmaaka. m prabho ryii"so"sca tatvaj naanena yu. smaasvanugraha"saantyo rbaahulya. m varttataa. m|
3 According as his diuine power hath giuen vnto vs all things that perteine vnto life and godlinesse, through the acknowledging of him that hath called vs vnto glory and vertue.
jiivanaartham ii"svarabhaktyartha nca yadyad aava"syaka. m tat sarvva. m gauravasadgu. naabhyaam asmadaahvaanakaari. nastattvaj naanadvaaraa tasye"svariiya"saktirasmabhya. m dattavatii|
4 Whereby most great and precious promises are giuen vnto vs, that by them ye should be partakers of the diuine nature, in that ye flee the corruption, which is in the worlde through lust.
tatsarvve. na caasmabhya. m taad. r"saa bahumuulyaa mahaapratij naa dattaa yaabhi ryuuya. m sa. msaaravyaaptaat kutsitaabhilaa. samuulaat sarvvanaa"saad rak. saa. m praapye"svariiyasvabhaavasyaa. m"sino bhavitu. m "saknutha|
5 Therefore giue euen all diligence thereunto: ioyne moreouer vertue with your faith: and with vertue, knowledge:
tato heto ryuuya. m sampuur. na. m yatna. m vidhaaya vi"svaase saujanya. m saujanye j naana. m
6 And with knowledge, temperance: and with temperance, patience: and with patience, godlines:
j naana aayatendriyataam aayatendriyataayaa. m dhairyya. m dhairyya ii"svarabhaktim
7 And with godlines, brotherly kindnes: and with brotherly kindnes, loue.
ii"svarabhaktau bhraat. rsnehe ca prema yu"nkta|
8 For if these things be among you, and abound, they will make you that ye neither shalbe idle, nor vnfruitfull in the acknowledging of our Lord Iesus Christ:
etaani yadi yu. smaasu vidyante varddhante ca tarhyasmatprabho ryii"sukhrii. s.tasya tattvaj naane yu. smaan alasaan ni. sphalaa. m"sca na sthaapayi. syanti|
9 For he that hath not these things, is blinde, and can not see farre off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his olde sinnes.
kintvetaani yasya na vidyante so. andho mudritalocana. h svakiiyapuurvvapaapaanaa. m maarjjanasya vism. rti. m gata"sca|
10 Wherefore, brethren, giue rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall.
tasmaad he bhraatara. h, yuuya. m svakiiyaahvaanavara. nayo rd. r.dhakara. ne bahu yatadhva. m, tat k. rtvaa kadaaca na skhali. syatha|
11 For by this meanes an entring shalbe ministred vnto you aboundantly into the euerlasting kingdome of our Lord and Sauiour Iesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
yato. anena prakaare. naasmaaka. m prabhostraat. r ryii"sukhrii. s.tasyaanantaraajyasya prave"sena yuuya. m sukalena yojayi. syadhve| (aiōnios g166)
12 Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you alwayes in remembrance of these things, though that ye haue knowledge, and be stablished in the present trueth.
yadyapi yuuyam etat sarvva. m jaaniitha varttamaane satyamate susthiraa bhavatha ca tathaapi yu. smaan sarvvadaa tat smaarayitum aham ayatnavaan na bhavi. syaami|
13 For I thinke it meete as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stirre you vp by putting you in remembrance,
yaavad etasmin duu. sye ti. s.thaami taavad yu. smaan smaarayan prabodhayitu. m vihita. m manye|
14 Seeing I knowe that the time is at hand that I must lay downe this my tabernacle, euen as our Lord Iesus Christ hath shewed me.
yato. asmaaka. m prabhu ryii"sukhrii. s.to maa. m yat j naapitavaan tadanusaaraad duu. syametat mayaa "siighra. m tyaktavyam iti jaanaami|
15 I will endeuour therefore alwayes, that ye also may be able to haue remembrance of these things after my departing.
mama paralokagamanaat paramapi yuuya. m yadetaani smarttu. m "sak. syatha tasmin sarvvathaa yati. sye|
16 For we followed not deceiuable fables when we opened vnto you the power, and comming of our Lord Iesus Christ, but with our eyes we saw his maiestie:
yato. asmaaka. m prabho ryii"sukhrii. s.tasya paraakrama. m punaraagamana nca yu. smaan j naapayanto vaya. m kalpitaanyupaakhyaanaanyanvagacchaameti nahi kintu tasya mahimna. h pratyak. sasaak. si. no bhuutvaa bhaa. sitavanta. h|
17 For he receiued of God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voyce to him from that excellent glory, This is my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased.
yata. h sa piturii"svaraad gaurava. m pra"sa. msaa nca praaptavaan vi"se. sato mahimayuktatejomadhyaad etaad. r"sii vaa. nii ta. m prati nirgatavatii, yathaa, e. sa mama priyaputra etasmin mama paramasanto. sa. h|
18 And this voyce we heard when it came from heauen, being with him in the Holy mount.
svargaat nirgateya. m vaa. nii pavitraparvvate tena saarddha. m vidyamaanairasmaabhira"sraavi|
19 We haue also a most sure worde of the Prophets, to the which ye doe well that yee take heede, as vnto a light that shineth in a darke place, vntill the day dawne, and the day starre arise in your hearts.
aparam asmatsamiipe d. r.dhatara. m bhavi. syadvaakya. m vidyate yuuya nca yadi dinaarambha. m yu. smanmana. hsu prabhaatiiyanak. satrasyodaya nca yaavat timiramaye sthaane jvalanta. m pradiipamiva tad vaakya. m sammanyadhve tarhi bhadra. m kari. syatha|
20 So that yee first knowe this, that no prophecie of the Scripture is of any priuate interpretation.
"saastriiya. m kimapi bhavi. syadvaakya. m manu. syasya svakiiyabhaavabodhaka. m nahi, etad yu. smaabhi. h samyak j naayataa. m|
21 For the prophecie came not in olde time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moued by the holy Ghost.
yato bhavi. syadvaakya. m puraa maanu. saa. naam icchaato notpanna. m kintvii"svarasya pavitralokaa. h pavitre. naatmanaa pravarttitaa. h santo vaakyam abhaa. santa|
