2 Peter 1
1 Simon Peter a seruant and an Apostle of Iesus Christ, to you which haue obteined like precious faith with vs by the righteousnesse of our God and Sauiour Iesus Christ:
യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ദാസനും അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായ ശിമോൻ പത്രോസ്, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവവും രക്ഷകനുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നീതിയിലൂടെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിച്ചതുപോലെയുള്ള അമൂല്യവിശ്വാസം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളവർക്ക്, എഴുതുന്നത്:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you, through the acknowledging of God, and of Iesus our Lord,
ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുമുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിലൂടെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കൃപയും സമാധാനവും സമൃദ്ധമായി ഉണ്ടാകുമാറാകട്ടെ.
3 According as his diuine power hath giuen vnto vs all things that perteine vnto life and godlinesse, through the acknowledging of him that hath called vs vnto glory and vertue.
അവിടത്തെ ദിവ്യശക്തി, ഭക്തിപൂർവമായ ജീവിതത്തിന് ആവശ്യമായതെല്ലാം നമുക്കു നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അവ നമുക്കു ലഭിച്ചത് തേജസ്സിനാലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠതയാലും നമ്മെ വിളിച്ച ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിലൂടെയാണ്.
4 Whereby most great and precious promises are giuen vnto vs, that by them ye should be partakers of the diuine nature, in that ye flee the corruption, which is in the worlde through lust.
ഇവയിലൂടെത്തന്നെയാണ് തന്റെ അമൂല്യവും മഹനീയവുമായ വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങളും അവിടന്ന് നമുക്കു നൽകിയത്. തന്മൂലം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ദുർമോഹത്താൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ലോകമാലിന്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് വിമുക്തരായി ദൈവികസ്വഭാവത്തിനു പങ്കാളികളായിത്തീരാൻ കഴിയും.
5 Therefore giue euen all diligence thereunto: ioyne moreouer vertue with your faith: and with vertue, knowledge:
ഈ കാരണത്താൽ, നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വാസത്തോടു ധാർമികതയും ധാർമികതയോടു വിവേകവും
6 And with knowledge, temperance: and with temperance, patience: and with patience, godlines:
വിവേകത്തോട് ആത്മസംയമവും ആത്മസംയമത്തോടു സഹിഷ്ണുതയും സഹിഷ്ണുതയോടു ഭക്തിയും
7 And with godlines, brotherly kindnes: and with brotherly kindnes, loue.
ഭക്തിയോടു സാഹോദര്യവും സാഹോദര്യത്തോടു സ്നേഹവും കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കാൻ, ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെ സകലപ്രയത്നവും ചെയ്യുക.
8 For if these things be among you, and abound, they will make you that ye neither shalbe idle, nor vnfruitfull in the acknowledging of our Lord Iesus Christ:
ഈ സദ്ഗുണങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളിൽ വർധമാനമായിരുന്നാൽ, നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾ പ്രയോജനരഹിതരും നിഷ്ഫലരും ആകാതെ ഇവ നിങ്ങളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കും.
9 For he that hath not these things, is blinde, and can not see farre off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his olde sinnes.
ഇവയില്ലാത്തവർ അന്ധരും തങ്ങൾ മുമ്പ് ചെയ്തുകൂട്ടിയ പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ശുദ്ധീകരണം ലഭിച്ചു എന്ന വസ്തുത മറന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഹ്രസ്വദൃഷ്ടികളുമാണ്.
10 Wherefore, brethren, giue rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall.
ആകയാൽ സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ വിളിയും തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പും സുസ്ഥിരമാക്കാൻ അത്യധികം ഉത്സാഹിക്കുക. ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഒരിക്കലും പാപത്തിൽ വഴുതിവീഴുകയില്ല.
11 For by this meanes an entring shalbe ministred vnto you aboundantly into the euerlasting kingdome of our Lord and Sauiour Iesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവും രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നിത്യരാജ്യത്തിലേക്ക് അതിമഹത്തായ ഒരു സ്വീകരണം ലഭിക്കും. (aiōnios g166)
12 Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you alwayes in remembrance of these things, though that ye haue knowledge, and be stablished in the present trueth.
നിങ്ങൾ ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ അറിയുകയും നിങ്ങളെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിച്ച സത്യത്തിൽ ഉറച്ചുനിൽക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. എങ്കിലും ഇവയെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ സദാ ഓർമിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ തൽപ്പരനാണ്.
13 For I thinke it meete as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stirre you vp by putting you in remembrance,
ഞാൻ, ഈ ശരീരമെന്ന കൂടാരത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നിടത്തോളം, ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ നിരന്തരം അനുസ്മരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് യോഗ്യമെന്നു ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു.
14 Seeing I knowe that the time is at hand that I must lay downe this my tabernacle, euen as our Lord Iesus Christ hath shewed me.
കാരണം, നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തു എന്നോടു വ്യക്തമാക്കിയതുപോലെ, ഈ കൂടാരത്തിൽനിന്നു വിടപറയുന്നതിനുള്ള സമയം ആസന്നമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് എനിക്കറിയാം.
15 I will endeuour therefore alwayes, that ye also may be able to haue remembrance of these things after my departing.
എന്റെ വേർപാടിനുശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ ഈ കാര്യങ്ങളെല്ലാം എപ്പോഴും ഓർക്കുന്നതിന്, എന്നാൽ ആവുന്നവിധത്തിലുള്ള എല്ലാ പരിശ്രമങ്ങളും ഞാൻ ചെയ്യും.
16 For we followed not deceiuable fables when we opened vnto you the power, and comming of our Lord Iesus Christ, but with our eyes we saw his maiestie:
നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രഭാപൂർണമായ പുനരാഗമനം ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ അറിയിച്ചതു കൗശലത്തോടെ കെട്ടിച്ചമച്ച കഥകൾകൊണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; മറിച്ച്, ഞങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തെ പ്രതാപത്തിന് ദൃക്‌സാക്ഷികൾ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ്.
17 For he receiued of God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voyce to him from that excellent glory, This is my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased.
“ഞാൻ സംപ്രീതനായിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രൻ ഇവൻതന്നെ” എന്ന അശരീരി പരമോൽക്കൃഷ്ടമായ തേജസ്സിൽനിന്ന് ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവിടത്തേക്ക് ബഹുമാനവും തേജസ്സും ലഭിച്ചു.
18 And this voyce we heard when it came from heauen, being with him in the Holy mount.
കർത്താവിനോടൊപ്പം വിശുദ്ധപർവതത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഞങ്ങളും സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ട ഈ അശരീരി കേട്ടു.
19 We haue also a most sure worde of the Prophets, to the which ye doe well that yee take heede, as vnto a light that shineth in a darke place, vntill the day dawne, and the day starre arise in your hearts.
ഇതോടൊപ്പം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമായ പ്രവാചകവചനവും നമുക്കുണ്ട്. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ പുലരി പൊട്ടിവിടർന്ന് പ്രഭാതനക്ഷത്രം ഉദിക്കുംവരെ, ഇരുട്ടുള്ളപ്പോൾ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്ന വിളക്കിലേക്കെന്നതുപോലെ ആ വചനത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധാലുക്കൾ ആകേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.
20 So that yee first knowe this, that no prophecie of the Scripture is of any priuate interpretation.
തിരുവെഴുത്തിലെ ഓരോ പ്രവചനവാക്യവും പ്രവാചകന്റെ സ്വതഃസിദ്ധമായ വിശകലനത്താൽ ഉരുത്തിരിഞ്ഞുവന്നവയല്ല എന്ന വസ്തുത നിങ്ങൾ പ്രാഥമികമായി മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിരിക്കണം.
21 For the prophecie came not in olde time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moued by the holy Ghost.
പ്രവചനം ഒരിക്കലും മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഹിതാനുസരണം ഉത്ഭവിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; പിന്നെയോ, പ്രവാചകന്മാർ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നിയോഗത്താൽ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടുകൾ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
