2 Kings 8
1 Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.
Ê-li-sê bèn nói với người đàn bà, là mẹ của đứa trai mà người đã khiến sống lại, rằng: Hãy chổi dậy, đi với người nhà ngươi, ở ngụ nơi nào ngươi ở được vì Đức Giê-hô-va đã định dẫn cơn đói đến; kìa nó sẽ đến trong xứ bảy năm.
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.
Vậy, người đàn bà ấy đứng dậy, vâng theo lời của người Đức Chúa Trời, cùng người nhà mình đi kiều ngụ bảy năm trong xứ Phi-li-tin.
3 And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.
Cuối bảy năm, người đàn bà ấy ở xứ Phi-li-tin trở về, đi đến kêu nài vua về việc nhà và đồng ruộng mình.
4 And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.
Vả, vua đang nói chuyện với Ghê-ha-xi, tôi tớ của người Đức Chúa Trời, mà rằng: Ngươi hãy thuật cho ta hết các công việc lớn mà Ê-li-sê đã làm xong.
5 And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.
Ghê-ha-xi đang thuật cho vua hay thế nào Ê-li-sê đã khiến một kẻ chết sống lại, kìa có người đàn bà là mẹ của đứa con trai mà Ê-li-sê đã khiến cho sống lại, đến kêu nài vua về việc nhà và đồng ruộng mình. Ghê-ha-xi tâu rằng: Oâi vua chúa tôi! kìa là người đàn bà ấy, và này là con trai nàng mà Ê-li-sê đã làm cho sống lại.
6 And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.
Vua bèn hỏi nàng, thì nàng thuật công việc cho người. Đoạn, vua cắt một quan hoạn theo nàng, mà rằng: Hãy bắt trả lại cho nàng mọi món nào thuộc về nàng, và hết thảy huê lợi của đồng ruộng nàng từ ngày nàng lìa khỏi xứ cho đến ngày nay.
7 Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
Ê-li-sê đi đến Đa-mách. Bấy giờ, Bên-Ha-đát, vua Sy-ri, đau. Có người nói với vua rằng: Người của Đức Chúa Trời mới đến đây.
8 And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
Vua bảo Ha-xa-ên rằng: Hãy lấy đem theo một lễ vật, đi đón người của Đức Chúa Trời, cậy người cầu vấn Đức Giê-hô-va rằng: Ta sẽ được lành bịnh này chăng?
9 So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
Vậy, Ha-xa-ên đi đón người của Đức Chúa Trời, dẫn theo mình bốn mươi lạc đà, chở mọi món tốt nhất có tại Đa-mách, đặng làm của lễ cho người của Đức Chúa Trời. Người đến ra mắt Ê-li-sê, mà thưa rằng: Con trai ông là Bên-Ha-đát, vua Sy-ri, đã sai tôi đến ông đặng hỏi rằng: Tôi sẽ được lành bịnh này chăng?
10 And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.
Ê-li-sê đáp rằng: Hãy đi nói với người rằng: Vua sẽ được lành bịnh. Dầu vậy, Đức Giê-hô-va đã tỏ ra cho ta biết người hẳn sẽ chết.
11 And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.
Người của Đức Chúa Trời ngó chăm Ha-xa-ên lâu đến đỗi người phải hổ thẹn, rồi cất tiếng lên khóc.
12 And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.
Ha-xa-ên hỏi rằng: Cớ sao chúa tôi khóc? Ê-li-sê đáp rằng: Bởi ta biết ngươi sẽ làm thiệt hại cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên. Ngươi sẽ châm lửa các thành kiên cố của chúng nó, giết các kẻ trai trẻ bằng gươm, chà nát con nhỏ, và mổ bụng đàn bà có nghén của chúng nó.
13 Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.
Ha-xa-ên tiếp: Nhưng kẻ tôi tớ ông là ai, chẳng qua là một con chó đó thôi; sao làm nổi công sự lớn dường ấy? Ê-li-sê đáp rằng: Đức Giê-hô-va đã tỏ cho ta biết rằng ngươi sẽ làm vua Sy-ri.
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.
Ha-xa-ên bèn lìa khỏi Ê-li-sê, và trở về cùng chủ mình; chủ hỏi rằng: Ê-li-sê nói với ngươi sao? Ngươi thưa: Ê-li-sê nói với tôi rằng chúa chắc sẽ lành mạnh.
15 And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
Ngày mai, Ha-xa-ên lấy cái mền nhúng nước, đắp trên mặt Bên-Ha-đát, thì người chết. Rồi Ha-xa-ên làm vua thế cho người.
16 Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.
Năm thứ năm về đời Giô-ram, con trai A-háp, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, thì Giô-ram, con trai Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa, lên ngôi làm vua Giu-đa đang khi Giô-sa-phát còn trị vì.
17 He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.
Lúc lên ngôi, người đã được ba mươi hai tuổi; người cai trị tám năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
18 And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.
Người đi theo con đường của các vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, y như nhà A-háp đã làm; vì con gái của A-háp là vợ người. Vậy, người làm điều ác trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va.
19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.
Song Đức Giê-hô-va nhân vì Đa-vít, tôi tớ của Ngài, không muốn tuyệt diệt Giu-đa, bởi Ngài đã hứa để dành một ngọn đèn cho Đa-vít và cho dòng dõi người mãi mãi.
20 In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.
Trong đời Giô-ram, dân Ê-đôm phản nghịch cùng Giu-đa, và lập vua lên cho mình.
21 Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.
Bấy giờ, Giô-ram qua Xai-rơ, đem theo hết thảy xe binh mình. Người chổi dậy ban đêm, hãm đánh quân Ê-đôm, và các quan cai xe lính họ vẫn vây chung quanh người. Quân lính người thoát khỏi về trại mình.
22 So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.
Aáy vậy, dân Ê-đôm phản nghịch, chẳng suy phục dân Giu-đa cho đến ngày nay. Đồng một lúc ấy, Líp-na cũng phản nghịch.
23 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Các truyện khác của Giô-ram, mọi việc người làm, điều đã chép trong sách sử ký về các vua Giu-đa.
24 And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
Giô-ram an giấc cùng tổ phụ mình, được chôn với họ tại trong thành Đa-vít. A-cha-xia, con trai người, kế vị người.
25 In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.
Năm thứ mười hai, đời Giô-ram, con trai A-háp, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, thì A-cha-xia, con trai Giô-ram, vua Giu-đa, lên ngôi trị vì.
26 Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.
A-cha-xia được hai mươi hai tuổi khi người lên làm vua, và cai trị một năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ người tên là A-tha-li, cháu gái của Oâm-ri, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.
Người đi theo con đường của nhà A-háp, làm điều ác trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va, y như nhà ấy đã làm. Vì người là rể của nhà A-háp.
28 And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.
Người đi với Giô-ram, con trai A-háp, đến Ra-mốt tại Ga-la-át đặng giao chiến cùng Ha-xa-ên, vua Sy-ri. Nhưng quân Sy-ri làm cho vua Giô-ram bị thương.
29 And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
Người bèn trở về Gít-rê-ên đặng chữa lành những vít thương người bị bởi quân Sy-ri tại Ra-mốt, khi đánh giặc cùng Ha-xa-ên, vua Sy-ri. A-cha-xia, con trai Giô-ram, vua Giu-đa, đi xuống Gít-rê-ên, đặng thăm Giô-ram, con trai A-háp, vẫn đau liệt nằm tại đó.
