2 Kings 8
1 Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.
Agora Elisha havia falado com a mulher cujo filho ele havia restaurado à vida, dizendo: “Levante-se e vá, você e sua casa, e fique por um tempo onde puder; pois Yahweh chamou por uma fome. Também virá à terra por sete anos”.
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.
A mulher surgiu, e fez de acordo com a palavra do homem de Deus. Ela foi com sua família, e viveu na terra dos filisteus por sete anos.
3 And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.
Ao final de sete anos, a mulher voltou da terra dos filisteus. Depois ela saiu para implorar ao rei por sua casa e por sua terra.
4 And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.
Agora o rei estava conversando com Geazi, o servo do homem de Deus, dizendo: “Por favor, diga-me todas as grandes coisas que Eliseu fez”.
5 And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.
Enquanto ele contava ao rei como havia restaurado à vida aquele que estava morto, eis que a mulher cujo filho ele havia restaurado à vida implorou ao rei por sua casa e por sua terra. Geazi disse: “Meu senhor, ó rei, esta é a mulher, e este é seu filho, a quem Eliseu ressuscitou”.
6 And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.
Quando o rei perguntou à mulher, ela lhe disse. Então o rei nomeou para ela um certo oficial, dizendo: “Restaure tudo o que era dela, e todos os frutos do campo desde o dia em que ela deixou a terra, mesmo até agora”.
7 Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
Elisha veio a Damasco; e Benhadad, o rei da Síria, estava doente. Foi-lhe dito: “O homem de Deus veio aqui”.
8 And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
O rei disse a Hazael: “Pegue um presente em sua mão e vá ao encontro do homem de Deus, e pergunte a Javé por ele, dizendo: 'Será que eu vou me recuperar desta doença?
9 So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
Então Hazael foi ao seu encontro e levou um presente com ele, mesmo de todas as coisas boas de Damasco, o fardo de quarenta camelos, e veio e ficou diante dele e disse: “Seu filho Benhadad, rei da Síria, me enviou a você, dizendo: 'Será que eu vou me recuperar desta doença?
10 And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.
Elisha lhe disse: “Vá, diga-lhe: 'Você certamente se recuperará;' entretanto Yahweh me mostrou que ele certamente morrerá”.
11 And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.
Ele fixou seu olhar com firmeza sobre ele, até ficar envergonhado. Então o homem de Deus chorou.
12 And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.
Hazael disse: “Por que o senhor chora, meu senhor”? Ele respondeu: “Porque eu sei o mal que vocês farão às crianças de Israel”. Vocês incendiarão seus redutos, e matarão seus jovens com a espada, e despedaçarão seus pequeninos, e rasgarão suas mulheres grávidas”.
13 Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.
Hazael disse: “Mas o que é seu criado, que é apenas um cão, que ele poderia fazer esta grande coisa”? Elisha respondeu: “Yahweh mostrou-me que você será rei sobre a Síria”.
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.
Então ele partiu de Elisha, e veio até seu mestre, que lhe disse: “O que Elisha lhe disse”? Ele respondeu: “Ele me disse que você certamente se recuperaria”.
15 And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
No dia seguinte, ele pegou um pano grosso, mergulhou-o na água e o espalhou sobre o rosto do rei, de modo que ele morreu. Então, Hazael reinou em seu lugar.
16 Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.
No quinto ano de Jorão, filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, Jehosafá sendo então rei de Judá, começou a reinar Jehorão, filho de Jeosafá, rei de Judá.
17 He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.
Ele tinha trinta e dois anos de idade quando começou a reinar. Ele reinou oito anos em Jerusalém.
18 And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.
Ele andou no caminho dos reis de Israel, assim como a casa de Acabe, pois casou com a filha de Acabe. Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos de Iavé.
19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.
However, Javé não destruiria Judá, por amor de Davi, seu servo, pois prometeu dar-lhe sempre uma lâmpada para seus filhos.
20 In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.
Em seus dias, Edom revoltou-se sob a mão de Judá, e fez um rei sobre si mesmo.
21 Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.
Então Joram atravessou para Zair, e todas as suas carruagens com ele; e ele se levantou à noite e atingiu os edomitas que o cercaram com os capitães das carruagens; e o povo fugiu para suas tendas.
22 So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.
Então Edom se revoltou de debaixo da mão de Judá até hoje. Então Libnah se revoltou ao mesmo tempo.
23 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
O resto dos atos de Jorão, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?
24 And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
Jorão dormiu com seus pais, e foi enterrado com seus pais na cidade de Davi; e Acazias, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
25 In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.
No décimo segundo ano de Jorão, filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, Acazias, filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá, começou a reinar.
26 Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.
Acazias tinha vinte e dois anos quando começou a reinar; e reinou um ano em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Atalia, filha de Onri, rei de Israel.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.
Ele andou no caminho da casa de Acabe e fez o que era mau aos olhos de Javé, assim como a casa de Acabe, pois ele era genro da casa de Acabe.
28 And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.
Ele foi com Joram, filho de Ahab, para a guerra contra Hazael, rei da Síria, em Ramoth Gilead, e os sírios feriram Joram.
29 And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
O rei Joram voltou para ser curado em Jezreel das feridas que os sírios lhe fizeram em Ramah, quando ele lutou contra Hazael, rei da Síria. Acazias, filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá, desceu para ver Jorão, filho de Acabe, em Jezreel, porque estava doente.
