2 Kings 8
1 Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.
೧ಎಲೀಷನು ತಾನು ಬದುಕಿಸಿದ ಹುಡುಗನ ತಾಯಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕ್ಷಾಮವನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೊಡನೆ ಯಾವುದಾದರೊಂದು ಪರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.
೨ಆಕೆಯು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೊಡನೆ ಸ್ವದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.
3 And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.
೩ಏಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳಾದ ನಂತರ ಆಕೆಯು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, ಪರಾಧೀನವಾಗಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲಮನೆಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಳು.
4 And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.
೪ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಗೇಹಜಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, “ಎಲೀಷನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
5 And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.
೫ಎಲೀಷನು ಸತ್ತ ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ ಜೀವದಾನಮಾಡಿದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಜೀವದಾನಹೊಂದಿದ ಹುಡುಗನ ತಾಯಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲಮನೆಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಳು. ಕೂಡಲೇ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು, “ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ಎಲೀಷನು ಬದುಕಿಸಿದ ಹುಡುಗನು ಇವನೇ; ಈಕೆಯು ಇವನ ತಾಯಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
6 And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.
೬ಅರಸನು ಈ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಆಕೆಯು ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಎಲೀಷನಿಂದಾದ ದೇವರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಳು. ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಂಚುಕಿಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಈಕೆಯ ಹೊಲಮನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಈಕೆಯು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟ ದಿನದಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಈಕೆಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕ ಹೊಲದ ಆದಾಯವನ್ನೂ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಕೆಯ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
7 Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
೭ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಎಲೀಷನು ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಆಗ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಅರಸನು ಕೇಳಿ,
8 And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
೮ಅರಸನು ಹಜಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನನಗೆ ವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವುದೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
9 So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
೯ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಲವತ್ತು ಒಂಟೆಗಳು ಹೊರುವಷ್ಟು ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಲೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನೂ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು ತನಗೆ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಗುವದೋ, ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
10 And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.
೧೦ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಹೇಗೂ ನಿನಗೆ ವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಬೆನ್ಹದದನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು; ಆದರೂ, ಅವನು ಸತ್ತೇ ಹೋಗುವನೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
11 And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.
೧೧ಸ್ಥಿರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನನ್ನು ದಿಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿ ಅಳತೊಡಗಿದನು.
12 And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.
೧೨ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು, “ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯಾ, ಯಾಕೆ ಅಳುತ್ತಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವಿ ಎಂಬುದು ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಯಿತು. ನೀನು ಅವರ ಕೋಟೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹೊತ್ತಿಸುವಿ. ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸುವಿ. ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡೆಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸುವಿ. ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯರ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಸೀಳುವಿ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
13 Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.
೧೩ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಎಲೀಷನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನಾನು ನಾಯಿಯಂತಿರುತ್ತೇನಷ್ಟೇ; ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಇಂಥಾ ಕ್ರೂರ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಗುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು, “ನೀನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗುವಿಯೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.
೧೪ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಎಲೀಷನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವನು ಇವನನ್ನು, “ಎಲೀಷನು ಏನು ಹೇಳಿದನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇವನು, “ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಗೂ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
15 And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
೧೫ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಇವನು ಕಂಬಳಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೋಯಿಸಿ, ಅರಸನ ಮುಖದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಸತ್ತನು. ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.
16 Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.
೧೬ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಯೋರಾಮನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಐದನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದ ರಾಜನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ಆಳತೊಡಗಿದನು.
17 He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.
೧೭ಇವನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಮೂವತ್ತೆರಡು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು.
18 And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.
೧೮ಇವನು ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಹಾಬನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾದನು.
19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.
೧೯ಆದರೂ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆಹೂದ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನದವರ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಎಂದೂ ನಂದಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ವಾಗ್ದಾನವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿದನು.
20 In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.
೨೦ಇವನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬಿದ್ದು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾಗಿ ತಮಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
21 Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.
೨೧ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಥಬಲಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಚಾಯೀರಿಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ರಥಬಲದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಪಾರಾದನು. ಅವನ ಸೈನ್ಯದವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.
22 So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.
೨೨ಹೀಗೆ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಬ್ನದವರು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾದರು.
23 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
೨೩ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಉಳಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೂ, ಯೆಹೂದ ರಾಜಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
24 And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
೨೪ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಲು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದ ನಗರದೊಳಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸ್ಮಶಾನಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವನ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
25 In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.
೨೫ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಯೋರಾಮನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹನ್ನೆರಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಮಗ ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
26 Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.
೨೬ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಒಮ್ರಿಯ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗಳಾದ ಅತಲ್ಯ ಎಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಇವನ ತಾಯಿ.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.
೨೭ಅಹಜ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಅಹಾಬನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿದ್ದುದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾದನು.
28 And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.
೨೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಜಾಯೇಲನೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋರಾಮನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮೋತ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
29 And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
೨೯ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಯೋರಾಮನನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಯಪಡಿಸಲು ಅವನಿಗೆ ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದ ಗಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಜ್ರೇಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಹಜಾಯೇಲನು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಮಗ ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋರಾಮನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
