2 Kings 8
1 Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.
Elisa aber hatte mit dem Weibe, dessen Sohn er wieder lebendig gemacht hatte, geredet und gesagt: Brich auf und ziehe mit deinen Hausgenossen von dannen und halte dich irgendwo in der Fremde auf; denn Jahwe läßt eine siebenjährige Hungersnot über das Land kommen, und sie ist bereits eingetreten.
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.
Da machte sich das Weib auf und that nach dem Geheiße des Mannes Gottes: sie zog samt ihren Hausgenossen von dannen und verweilte sieben Jahre im Philisterlande.
3 And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.
Nach Ablauf der sieben Jahre aber kehrte das Weib aus dem Philisterlande zurück und machte sich auf den Weg, um den König wegen ihres Hauses und ihrer Äcker um Hilfe anzurufen.
4 And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.
Der König aber redete gerade mit Gehasi, dem Diener des Mannes Gottes, und sprach: Erzähle mir doch alle die großen Thaten, die Elisa verrichtet hat!
5 And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.
Als er nun dem König erzählte, wie er den Toten wieder lebendig gemacht habe, siehe, da erschien gerade das Weib, dessen Sohn er wieder lebendig gemacht hatte, um den König wegen ihres Hauses und ihrer Äcker um Hilfe anzurufen. Da sprach Gehasi: Mein Herr König! Das ist das Weib, und dies ist ihr Sohn, den Elisa wieder lebendig gemacht hat!
6 And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.
Darauf befragte der König das Weib, und sie erzählte es ihm. Da gab ihr der König einen Kämmerer mit und befahl diesem: Sorge, daß sie alles, was ihr gehört, wiederbekommt, dazu den gesamten Ertrag der Äcker von der Zeit an, wo sie das Land verlassen hat, bis jetzt!
7 Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
Und Elisa kam nach Damaskus; Benhadad aber, der König von Aram, lag krank. Als man ihm nun mitteilte: Der Mann Gottes ist hierher gekommen,
8 And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
da sprach der König zu Hasael: Nimm Geschenke mit dir, geh dem Manne Gottes entgegen und befrage durch ihn Jahwe, ob ich von dieser meiner Krankheit wieder genesen werde.
9 So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
Da ging ihm Hasael entgegen und nahm Geschenke mit sich, was es nur Kostbares zu Damaskus gab, vierzig Kamelslasten. Als er nun hingelangt war, trat er vor ihn und sprach: Dein Sohn Benhadad, der König von Aram, hat mich zu dir gesandt und läßt fragen: Werde ich von dieser meiner Krankheit wieder genesen?
10 And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.
Elisa antwortete ihm: Gehe hin und sage ihm: Gewiß wirst du genesen! obschon Jahwe mir gezeigt hat, daß er sterben muß.
11 And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.
Und er richtete seinen Blick starr und endlos lange auf ihn hin; sodann weinte der Mann Gottes.
12 And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.
Hasael fragte ihn: Warum weinst du, Herr? Er antwortete: Weil ich weiß, wie viel Böses du den Israeliten anthun wirst. Ihre festen Städte wirst du in Brand stecken und ihre junge Mannschaft mit dem Schwert umbringen, ihre Kindlein zerschmettern und ihre Schwangeren aufschlitzen.
13 Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.
Hasael antwortete: Was ist doch dein Knecht, der Hund, daß er so Großes verrichten sollte? Elisa erwiderte: Jahwe hat dich mir als König über Aram gezeigt.
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.
Hierauf ging er von Elisa hinweg, und als er zu seinem Herrn kam, fragte ihn dieser: Was sagte dir Elisa? Er antwortete: Er sagte mir: Gewiß wirst du genesen!
15 And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
Des andern Tags aber nahm er die Bettdecke, tauchte sie ins Wasser und breitete sie über sein Angesicht; da starb er, und Hasael ward König an seiner Statt.
16 Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.
Und im fünften Jahre Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs von Israel, ward Jehoram König, der Sohn Josaphats, des Königs von Juda.
17 He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.
Zweiunddreißig Jahre war er alt, als er König ward, und regierte acht Jahre zu Jerusalem.
18 And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.
Und er wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige von Israel, wie die vom Hause Ahabs thaten; denn er hatte die Tochter Ahabs zum Weibe. Also that er, was Jahwe mißfiel.
19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.
Aber Jahwe wollte Juda nicht verderben um seines Knechtes David willen, gemäß dem, was er diesem verheißen hatte, daß er ihm allezeit eine Leuchte vor seinem Angesichte verleihen wolle.
20 In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.
Unter seiner Regierung machten sich die Edomiter von der Obergewalt Judas los und setzten einen König über sich.
21 Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.
Da zog Jehoram mit sämtlichen Streitwagen hinüber nach Zair. Er aber erhob sich des Nachts und schlug die Edomiter, die ihn umzingelt hielten, sowie die Obersten über die Streitwagen, und das Kriegsvolk floh in seine Heimat.
22 So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.
So wurden die Edomiter von der Obergewalt Judas abtrünnig bis auf den heutigen Tag. Damals fiel auch Libna ab, um dieselbe Zeit.
23 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Was aber sonst noch von Jehoram zu sagen ist und alles, was er ausgeführt hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Juda.
24 And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
Und Jehoram legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids begraben. Und sein Sohn Ahasjahu ward König an seiner Statt.
25 In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.
Im zwölften Jahre Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs von Israel, ward Ahasjahu König, der Sohn Jehorams, des Königs von Juda.
26 Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.
Zweiundzwanzig Jahre war Ahasjahu alt, als er König ward, und regierte ein Jahr zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter aber hieß Athalja, die Enkelin Omris, des Königs von Israel.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.
Und er wandelte auf dem Wege des Hauses Ahabs und that, was Jahwe mißfiel, wie das Haus Ahabs, denn er war mit dem Hause Ahabs verschwägert.
28 And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.
Und er zog mit Joram, dem Sohne Ahabs, in den Krieg wider Hasael, den König von Aram, gen Ramoth in Gilead; aber die Aramäer verwundeten Joram.
29 And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
Da kehrte der König Joram zurück, um sich in Jesreel von den Wunden heilen zu lassen, die ihm die Aramäer zu Rama beigebracht hatten, als er mit Hasael, dem Könige von Aram, kämpfte. Ahasjahu aber, der Sohn Jehorams, der König von Juda, war hinabgekommen, um Joram, den Sohn Ahabs, zu Jesreel zu besuchen, weil er krank lag.
