2 Kings 7

1 Then Elisha saide, Heare ye the worde of the Lord: thus saith the Lord, To morowe this time a measure of fine floure shalbe solde for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel in the gate of Samaria.

Είπε δε ο Ελισσαιέ, Ακούσατε τον λόγον του Κυρίου· Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Αύριον, περί την ώραν ταύτην, εν μέτρον σεμιδάλεως θέλει πωληθή δι' ένα σίκλον και δύο μέτρα κριθής δι' ένα σίκλον, εν τη πύλη της Σαμαρείας.

2 Then a prince, on whose hande the King leaned, answered the man of God, and saide, Though the Lord would make windowes in the heauen, could this thing come to passe? And he said, Beholde, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not eate thereof.

Και απεκρίθη προς τον άνθρωπον του Θεού ο άρχων, επί του οποίου την χείρα εστηρίζετο ο βασιλεύς, και είπε, Και εάν ο Κύριος ήθελε κάμει παράθυρα εις τον ουρανόν, ηδύνατο το πράγμα τούτο να γείνη; Ο δε είπεν, Ιδού, θέλεις ιδεί με τους οφθαλμούς σου, δεν θέλεις όμως φάγει εξ αυτού.

3 Nowe there were foure leprous men at the entring in of the gate: and they saide one to an other, Why sitte we here vntill we die?

Ήσαν δε τέσσαρες άνδρες λεπροί εν τη εισόδω της πύλης· και είπον ο εις προς τον άλλον, Διά τι ημείς καθήμεθα εδώ εωσού αποθάνωμεν;

4 If we say, We will enter into the citie, the famine is in the citie, and we shall die there: and if we sit here, we dye also. Nowe therefore come, and let vs fall into the campe of the Aramites: if they saue our liues, we shall liue: and if they kill vs, we are but dead.

εάν είπωμεν, να εισέλθωμεν εις την πόλιν, η πείνα είναι εν τη πόλει, και θέλομεν αποθάνει εκεί· εάν δε καθήμεθα εδώ, πάλιν θέλομεν αποθάνει· τώρα λοιπόν έλθετε, και ας πέσωμεν εις το στρατόπεδον των Συρίων· εάν αφήσωσιν ημάς ζώντας, θέλομεν ζήσει. και εάν θανατώσωσιν ημάς, θέλομεν αποθάνει.

5 So they rose vp in the twilight, to goe to the campe of the Aramites: and when they were come to the vtmost part of the campe of the Aramites, loe, there was no man there.

Και εσηκώθησαν ότε εσκόταζε, διά να εισέλθωσιν εις το στρατόπεδον των Συρίων· και ότε ήλθον έως του άκρου του στρατοπέδου της Συρίας, ιδού, δεν ήτο άνθρωπος εκεί.

6 For the Lord had caused the campe of the Aramites to heare a noyse of charets and a noise of horses, and a noise of a great armie, so that they sayde one to another, Beholde, the King of Israel hath hired against vs the Kings of the Hittites, and the Kings of the Egyptians to come vpon vs.

Διότι ο Κύριος είχε κάμει να ακουσθή εν τω στρατοπέδω των Συρίων κρότος αμαξών και κρότος ίππων, κρότος μεγάλου στρατεύματος· και είπον προς αλλήλους, Ιδού, ο βασιλεύς του Ισραήλ εμίσθωσεν εναντίον ημών τους βασιλείς των Χετταίων και τους βασιλείς των Αιγυπτίων, διά να έλθωσιν εφ' ημάς.

7 Wherefore they arose, and fled in the twilight, and left their tentes and their horses, and their asses, euen the campe as it was, and fledde for their liues.

Όθεν σηκωθέντες έφυγον εν τω σκότει, και εγκατέλιπον τας σκηνάς αυτών και τους ίππους αυτών και τους όνους αυτών, το στρατόπεδον όπως ήτο, και έφυγον διά την ζωήν αυτών.

8 And when these lepers came to the vtmost part of the campe, they entred into one tent, and did eate and drinke, and caryed thence siluer and golde, and raiment, and went and hid it: after they returned, and entred into another tent, and caryed thence also, and went and hid it.

Και ότε οι λεπροί ούτοι ήλθον έως του άκρου του στρατοπέδου, εισήλθον εις μίαν σκηνήν και έφαγον και έπιον, και λαβόντες εκείθεν αργύριον και χρυσίον και ιμάτια, υπήγαν και έκρυψαν αυτά· επιστρέψαντες δε εισήλθον εις άλλην σκηνήν, και έλαβον άλλα εκείθεν και υπήγαν και έκρυψαν και ταύτα.

9 Then saide one to another, We doe not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we holde our peace. if we tary till day light, some mischiefe will come vpon vs. Nowe therefore, come, let vs goe, and tell the Kings housholde.

Τότε είπον προς αλλήλους, Ημείς δεν κάμνομεν καλά· η ημέρα αύτη είναι ημέρα αγαθών αγγελιών, και αν ημείς σιωπώμεν και περιμένωμεν μέχρι του φωτός της αυγής, συμφορά τις θέλει επέλθει εφ' ημάς· έλθετε λοιπόν, και ας υπάγωμεν να αναγγείλωμεν ταύτα εις τον οίκον του βασιλέως.

10 So they came, and called vnto the porters of the citie, and tolde them, saying, We came to the campe of the Aramites, and loe, there was no man there, neither voyce of man, but horses tyed and asses tyed: and the tents are as they were.

Ήλθον λοιπόν και εβόησαν προς τους θυρωρούς της πόλεως· και ανήγγειλαν προς αυτούς, λέγοντες, Ήλθομεν εις το στρατόπεδον των Συρίων, και ιδού, δεν ήτο εκεί άνθρωπος ουδέ φωνή ανθρώπου, ειμή ίπποι δεδεμένοι και όνοι δεδεμένοι και σκηναί καθώς ευρίσκοντο.

11 And the porters cryed and declared to the Kings house within.

Και εβόησαν οι θυρωροί και ανήγγειλαν τούτο ένδον εις τον οίκον του βασιλέως.

12 Then the King arose in the night, and saide vnto his seruants, I wil shew you now, what the Aramites haue done vnto vs. They know that we are affamished, therefore they are gone out of the campe to hide them selues in the fielde, saying, When they come out of the citie, we shall catch them aliue, and get into the citie.

Και σηκωθείς ο βασιλεύς την νύκτα, είπε προς τους δούλους αυτού, Τώρα θέλω φανερώσει προς εσάς τι έκαμον οι Σύριοι εις ημάς· εγνώρισαν ότι είμεθα πεινασμένοι και εξήλθον εκ του στρατοπέδου, διά να κρυφθώσιν εν τοις αγροίς, λέγοντες, Όταν εξέλθωσιν εκ της πόλεως, θέλομεν συλλάβει αυτούς ζώντας, και εις την πόλιν θέλομεν εισέλθει.

13 And one of his seruants answered, and said, Let me take now fiue of the horses that remaine, and are left in the citie, (behold, they are euen as all the multitude of Israel that are left therein: beholde, I say, they are as the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed) and we wil send to see.

Αποκριθείς δε εις εκ των δούλων αυτού είπεν, Ας λάβωσι, παρακαλώ, πέντε εκ των υπολειπομένων ίππων, οίτινες απέμειναν εν τη πόλει, ιδού, αυτοί είναι καθώς είπαν το πλήθος του Ισραήλ το εναπολειφθέν εν αυτή· ιδού, είναι καθώς άπαν το πλήθος των Ισραηλιτών οίτινες κατηναλώθησαν· και ας αποστείλωμεν διά να ίδωμεν.

14 So they tooke two charets of horses, and the King sent after the hoste of the Aramites, saying, Goe and see.

Έλαβον λοιπόν δύο ζεύγη ίππων και απέστειλεν ο βασιλεύς οπίσω του στρατοπέδου των Συρίων, λέγων, Υπάγετε και ιδέτε.

15 And they went after them vnto Iorden, and loe, all the way was full of clothes and vessels which the Aramites had cast from them in their hast: and the messengers returned, and told ye King.

Και υπήγαν οπίσω αυτών έως του Ιορδάνου· και ιδού, πάσα η οδός πλήρης ιματίων και σκευών, τα οποία οι Σύριοι είχον ρίψει εκ της βίας αυτών. Και επιστρέψαντες οι μηνυταί ανήγγειλαν τούτο προς τον βασιλέα.

16 Then the people went out and spoyled the campe of the Aramites: so a measure of fine floure was at a shekel, and two measures of barley at a shekel according to the word of the Lord.

Και εξήλθεν ο λαός, και ήρπασαν το στρατόπεδον των Συρίων. Και επωλήθη εν μέτρον σεμιδάλεως δι' ένα σίκλον και δύο μέτρα κριθής δι' ένα σίκλον, κατά τον λόγον του Κυρίου.

17 And the King gaue the prince (on whose hande he leaned) the charge of the gate, and the people trode vpon him in the gate, and he dyed, as the man of God had saide, which spake it, when the King came downe to him.

Και κατέστησεν ο βασιλεύς επί της πύλης τον άρχοντα, επί του οποίου την χείρα εστηρίζετο· και κατεπάτησεν ο λαός αυτόν εν τη πύλη, και απέθανε· καθώς ελάλησεν ο άνθρωπος του Θεού, όστις ελάλησεν ότε ο βασιλεύς κατέβη προς αυτόν.

18 And it came to passe, as the man of God had spoken to the King, saying, Two measures of barley at a shekel, and a measure of fine floure shall be at a shekel, to morowe about this time in the gate of Samaria.

Και, καθώς ελάλησεν ο άνθρωπος του Θεού προς τον βασιλέα, λέγων, Δύο μέτρα κριθής δι' ένα σίκλον και εν μέτρον σεμιδάλεως δι' ένα σίκλον θέλουσιν είσθαι αύριον, περί την ώραν ταύτην, εν τη πύλη της Σαμαρείας,

19 But the prince had answered the man of God, and saide, Though the Lord would make windowes in the heauen, coulde it come so to passe? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not eate thereof.

ο δε άρχων απεκρίθη προς τον άνθρωπον του Θεού και είπε, Και αν τώρα ο Κύριος ήθελε κάμει παράθυρα εις τον ουρανόν, ηδύνατο τοιούτον πράγμα να γείνη; και εκείνος είπεν, Ιδού, θέλεις ιδεί τούτο με τους οφθαλμούς σου· αλλά δεν θέλεις φάγει εξ αυτού,

20 And so it came vnto him: for the people trode vpon him in the gate, and he dyed.

ούτω και έγεινεν εις αυτόν· διότι ο λαός κατεπάτησεν αυτόν εν τη πύλη, και απέθανε.
