2 Kings 4

1 And one of the wiues of the sonnes of the Prophets cryed vnto Elisha, saying, Thy seruant mine husband is dead, and thou knowest, that thy seruant did feare the Lord: and the creditour is come to take my two sonnes to bee his bondmen.

भविष्यद्वक्ता मंडल के भविष्यवक्ताओं में से एक की पत्नी ने एलीशा की दोहाई दी, “आपके सेवक, मेरे पति की मृत्यु हो चुकी है. आपको मालूम ही है कि आपके सेवक के मन में याहवेह के लिए कितना भय था. अब हालत यह है कि जिसका वह कर्ज़दार था वह मेरे दोनों पुत्रों को अपने दास बनाने के लिए आ खड़ा हुआ है.”

2 Then Elisha saide vnto her, What shall I do for thee? tell mee, what hast thou at home? And she sayd, Thine handmayd hath nothing at home, saue a pitcher of oyle.

एलीशा ने उससे पूछा, “मैं तुम्हारे लिए क्या करूं? बताओ क्या-क्या बाकी रह गया है तुम्हारे घर में?” उस स्त्री ने उत्तर दिया, “आपकी सेविका के घर में अब तेल का एक पात्र के अलावा कुछ भी बचा नहीं रह गया है.”

3 And he sayde, Goe, and borowe thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, emptie vessels, and spare not.

एलीशा ने उससे कहा, “जाओ और अपने सभी पड़ोसियों से खाली बर्तन मांग लाओ और ध्यान रहे कि ये बर्तन गिनती में कम न हों.

4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the doore vpon thee and vpon thy sonnes, and powre out into all those vessels, and set aside those that are full.

तब उन्हें ले तुम अपने पुत्रों के साथ कमरे में चली जाना और दरवाजा बंद कर लेना. तब इन सभी बर्तनों में तेल उण्डेलना शुरू करना. जो जो बर्तन भर जाएं उन्हें अलग रखते जाना.”

5 So shee departed from him, and shut the doore vpon her, and vpon her sonnes. And they brought to her, and she powred out.

तब वह वहां से चली गई. अपने पुत्रों के साथ कमरे में जाकर उसने दरवाजा बंद कर लिया. वह बर्तनों में तेल उंडेलती गई और पुत्र उसके सामने खाली बर्तन लाते गए.

6 And when the vessels were full, shee sayde vnto her sonne, Bring mee yet a vessel. And hee said vnto her, There is no moe vessels. And the oyle ceased.

जब सारे बर्तन भर चुके, उसने अपने पुत्र से कहा, “और बर्तन ले आओ!” पुत्र ने इसके उत्तर में कहा, “अब कोई बर्तन नहीं है.” तब तेल की धार थम गई.

7 Then shee came and tolde the man of God. And he saide, Goe, and sell the oyle, and pay them that thou art in debt vnto, and liue thou and thy children of the rest.

उसने परमेश्वर के जन को इस बात की ख़बर दे दी. और परमेश्वर के जन ने उस स्त्री को आदेश दिया, “जाओ, यह तेल बेचकर अपना कर्ज़ भर दो.” जो बाकी रह जाए, उससे तुम और तुम्हारे पुत्र गुज़ारा करें.

8 And on a time Elisha came to Shunem, and there a woman of great estimation constrained him to eate bread: and as he passed by, he turned in thither to eate bread.

एक दिन एलीशा शूनेम नाम के स्थान पर गए. वहां एक धनी स्त्री रहती थी. उसने एलीशा को विनती करके भोजन पर बुलाया. इसके बाद जब कभी एलीशा वहां से जाते थे, वहीं रुक कर भोजन कर लेते थे.

9 And she sayde vnto her husband, Beholde, I know now, that this is an holy man of God that passeth by vs continually.

उस स्त्री ने अपने पति से कहा, “सुनिए, अब तो मैं यह समझ गई हूं कि यह व्यक्ति, जो हमेशा इसी मार्ग से जाया करते हैं, परमेश्वर के पवित्र जन हैं.

10 Let vs make him a litle chamber, I pray thee, with walles, and let vs set him there a bed, and a table, and a stoole, and a candlesticke, that hee may turne in thither when hee commeth to vs.

हम छत पर दीवारें उठाकर एक छोटा कमरा बना लें, उनके लिए वहां एक बिछौना, एक मेज़ एक कुर्सी और एक दीपक रख दें, कि जब कभी वह यहां आएं, वहां ठहर सकें.”

11 And on a day, hee came thither and turned into the chamber, and lay therein,

एक दिन एलीशा वहां आए और उन्होंने उस कमरे में जाकर आराम किया.

12 And sayd to Gehazi his seruant, Call this Shunammite: and when hee called her, she stood before him.

उन्होंने अपने सेवक गेहज़ी से कहा, “शूनामी स्त्री को बुला लाओ.” वह आकर उनके सामने खड़ी हो गई.

13 Then he sayd vnto him, Say vnto her now, Beholde, thou hast had all this great care for vs, what shall we doe for thee? Is there any thing to bee spoken for thee to the King or to the captaine of the hoste? And shee answered, I dwell among mine owne people.

एलीशा ने गेहज़ी को आदेश दिया, “उससे कहो, ‘देखिए, आपने हम दोनों का ध्यान रखने के लिए यह सब कष्ट किया है; आपके लिए क्या किया जा सकता है? क्या आप चाहती हैं कि किसी विषय में राजा के सामने आपकी कोई बात रखी जाए, या सेनापति से कोई विनती की जाए?’” उस स्त्री ने उत्तर दिया, “मैं तो अपनों ही के बीच में रह रही हूं!”

14 Againe he sayde, What is then to be done for her? Then Gehazi answered, In deede she hath no sonne, and her husband is olde.

तब उन्होंने पूछा, “तब इस स्त्री के लिए क्या किया जा सकता है?” गेहज़ी ने उत्तर दिया, “उसके कोई पुत्र नहीं है, और उसके पति ढलती उम्र के व्यक्ति हैं.”

15 Then said he, Cal her. And hee called her, and shee stoode in the doore.

एलीशा ने कहा, “उसे यहां बुलाओ.” जब वह स्त्री आकर द्वार पर खड़ी हो गई,

16 And he said, At this time appointed, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a sonne. And she sayd, Oh my Lord, thou man of God, doe not lye vnto thine handmayd.

एलीशा ने उससे कहा, “अगले साल इसी मौसम में लगभग इसी समय तुम्हारी गोद में एक पुत्र होगा.” वह स्त्री कहने लगी, “नहीं, मेरे स्वामी! परमेश्वर के जन, अपनी सेविका को झूठी आशा न दीजिए.”

17 So the woman conceiued, and bare a sonne at that same season, according to the time of life, that Elisha had sayd vnto her.

उस स्त्री ने गर्भधारण किया और अगले साल उसी समय वसन्त के मौसम में उसने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया—ठीक जैसा एलीशा ने उससे कहा था.

18 And when the childe was growen, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father, and to the reapers.

बड़ा होता हुआ वह बालक, एक दिन कटनी कर रहे मजदूरों के बीच अपने पिता के पास चला गया.

19 And he sayde to his father, Mine head, mine head. Who sayd to his seruant, Beare him to his mother.

अचानक उसने अपने पिता से कहा, “अरे, मेरा सिर! मेरा सिर!” पिता ने अपने सेवक को आदेश दिया, “इसे इसकी माता के पास ले जाओ.”

20 And hee tooke him and brought him to his mother, and hee sate on her knees till noone, and dyed.

सेवक ने उस बालक को उठाया और उसकी माता के पास ले गया. वह बालक दोपहर तक अपनी माता की गोद में ही बैठा रहा और वहीं उसकी मृत्यु हो गई.

21 Then shee went vp, and layed him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the doore vpon him, and went out.

उस स्त्री ने बालक को ऊपर ले जाकर उस परमेश्वर के जन के बिछौने पर लिटा दिया और दरवाजा बंद करके चली गई.

22 Then she called to her husband, and sayd, Send with me, I pray thee, one of the yong men and one of the asses: for I will haste to the man of God, and come againe.

तब उसने अपने पति को यह संदेश भेजा, “मेरे पास अपना एक सेवक और गधा भेज दीजिए कि मैं जल्दी ही परमेश्वर के जन से भेंटकर लौट आऊं.”

23 And he sayd, Wherefore wilt thou goe to him to day? it is neither newe moone nor Sabbath day. And she answered, All shalbe well.

पति ने प्रश्न किया, “तुम आज ही क्यों जाना चाह रही हो? आज न तो नया चांद है, और न ही शब्बाथ.” उसका उत्तर था, “सब कुछ कुशल ही होगा.”

24 Then she sadled an asse, and sayde to her seruant, Driue, and goe forward: staye not for me to get vp, except I bid thee.

तब उसने गधे को तैयार किया और अपने सेवक को आदेश दिया, “गधे को तेज हांको! मेरे लिए रफ़्तार धीमी न होने पाए, जब तक मैं इसके लिए आदेश न दूं.”

25 So she went, and came vnto the man of God to mount Carmel. And when the man of God sawe her ouer against him, he sayd to Gehazi his seruant, Beholde, the Shunammite.

वह चल पड़ी और कर्मेल पर्वत पर परमेश्वर के जन के घर तक पहुंच गई. जब परमेश्वर के जन ने उसे अपनी ओर आते देखा, उन्होंने अपने सेवक गेहज़ी से कहा, “वह देखो! शूनामी स्त्री!

26 Runne nowe, I say, to meete her, and say vnto her, Art thou in health? is thine husband in health? and is the child in health? And she answered, We are in health.

तुरंत उससे मिलने के लिए दौड़ो और उससे पूछो, ‘क्या आप सकुशल हैं? क्या आपके पति सकुशल हैं? क्या आपका पुत्र सकुशल है?’” उसने उसे उत्तर दिया, “सभी कुछ सकुशल है.”

27 And when shee came to the man of God vnto the moutaine, she caught him by his feete: and Gehazi went to her, to thrust her away: but the man of God said, Let her alone: for her soule is vexed within her, and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told it mee.

तब, जैसे ही वह पर्वत पर परमेश्वर के जन के पास पहुंची, उसने एलीशा के पैर पकड़ लिए. जब गेहज़ी उसे हटाने वहां पहुंचा, परमेश्वर के जन ने उससे कहा, “ऐसा कुछ न करो, क्योंकि इसका मन भारी दर्द से भरा हुआ है. इसके बारे में मुझे याहवेह ने कोई सूचना नहीं दी है, इसे गुप्‍त ही रखा है.”

28 Then she said, Did I desire a sonne of my lord? did I not say, Deceiue me not?

तब उस स्त्री ने कहना शुरू किया, “क्या अपने स्वामी से पुत्र की विनती मैंने की थी? क्या मैंने न कहा था, ‘मुझे झूठी आशा न दीजिए?’”

29 Then he sayd to Gehazi, Gird thy loynes, and take my staffe in thine hand, and goe thy way: if thou meete any, salute him not: and if any salute thee, answere him not: and laye my staffe vpon the face of the childe.

एलीशा ने गेहज़ी को आदेश दिया, “कमर कस लो और अपने साथ मेरी लाठी ले लो और चल पड़ो! मार्ग में अगर कोई मिले तो उससे हाल-चाल जानने के लिए न रुकना. यदि तुम्हें कोई नमस्कार करे तो उसका उत्तर न देना. जाकर मेरी लाठी उस बालक के मुंह पर रख देना.”

30 And the mother of the childe sayde, As the Lord liueth, and as thy soule liueth, I will not leaue thee. Therefore he arose, and followed her.

तब बालक की माता ने एलीशा से कहा, “जीवित याहवेह की शपथ और आपकी शपथ, मैं आपके बिना न लौटूंगी!” तब एलीशा उठे और उस स्त्री के साथ चल दिए.

31 But Gehazi was gone before them, and had layed the staffe vpon the face of the childe, but he neither spake nor heard: wherefore hee returned to meete him, and told him, saying, The childe is not waken.

गेहज़ी ने आगे-आगे जाकर बालक के मुंह पर लाठी टिका दी, मगर वहां न तो कोई आवाज सुनाई दिया गया और न ही उसमें जीवन का कोई लक्षण दिखाई दिया. तब गेहज़ी ने लौटकर एलीशा को ख़बर दी, “बालक तो जागा ही नहीं!”

32 Then came Elisha into the house, and beholde, the childe was dead, and layed vpon his bedde.

जब एलीशा ने घर में प्रवेश किया, वह मरा हुआ बालक उनके ही बिछौने पर ही लिटाया हुआ था.

33 He went in therefore, and shut the doore vpon them twayne, and prayed vnto the Lord.

तब एलीशा कमरे के भीतर चले गए और दरवाजा बंद कर लिया, वे दोनों बाहर ही थे. एलीशा ने याहवेह से प्रार्थना की.

34 After he went vp, and lay vpon the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes vpon his eies, and his hands vpon his handes, and stretched himselfe vpon him, and the flesh of the child waxed warme.

तब वह जाकर बालक के ऊपर लेट गए. उन्होंने अपना मुख बालक के मुख पर रखा, उनकी आंखें बालक की आंखों पर थी और उनके हाथ बालक के हाथों पर. जब वह उस बालक पर लेट गए, तब बालक के शरीर में गर्मी आने लगी.

35 And hee went from him, and walked vp and downe in the house, and went vp and spred himselfe vpon him: then the childe neesed seuen times, and opened his eyes.

फिर वह नीचे उतरे और घर के भीतर ही टहलते रहे. तब वह दोबारा बिछौने पर चढ़ गए और बालक पर लेट गए. इससे उस बालक को सात बार छींक आई और उसने आंखें खोल दीं.

36 Then he called Gehazi, and sayd, Call this Shunammite. So he called her, which came in vnto him. And he said vnto her, Take thy sonne.

एलीशा ने गेहज़ी को पुकारा और आदेश दिया, “शूनामी स्त्री को बुलाओ.” तब गेहज़ी ने उसे पुकारा. जब वह भीतर आई, उन्होंने उस स्त्री से कहा, “उठा लो अपने पुत्र को.”

37 And she came, and fell at his feete, and bowed her selfe to the ground, and tooke vp her sonne, and went out.

वह आई और भूमि की ओर झुककर एलीशा के पैरों पर गिर पड़ी. इसके बाद उसने अपने पुत्र को गोद में उठाया और वहां से चली गई.

38 Afterward Elisha returned to Gilgal, and a famine was in the land, and the children of the Prophets dwelt with him. And hee sayd vnto his seruant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the children of the Prophets.

एलीशा दोबारा गिलगाल नगर को लौट गए. इस समय देश में अकाल फैला था. भविष्यद्वक्ता मंडल इस समय उनके सामने बैठा हुआ था. एलीशा ने अपने सेवक को आदेश दिया, “एक बड़े बर्तन में भविष्यद्वक्ता मंडल के लिए भोजन तैयार करो!”

39 And one went out into the fielde, to gather herbes, and founde, as it were, a wilde vine, and gathered thereof wilde gourdes his garment ful, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew it not.

एक भविष्यद्वक्ता ने बाहर जाकर खेतों में से कुछ साग-पात इकट्ठा किया. वहीं उसे एक जंगली लता भी दिखाई दी, जिससे उसने बड़ी संख्या में जंगली फल इकट्ठा कर लिए. उसने इन्हें काटकर पकाने के बर्तन में डाल दिया. उसे यह मालूम न था कि ये फल क्या थे.

40 So they powred out for the men to eate: and when they did eate of the pottage, they cryed out, and sayde, O thou man of God, death is in the pot: and they could not eate thereof.

जब परोसने के लिए भोजन निकाला गया और जैसे ही उन्होंने भोजन खाना शुरू किया, वे चिल्ला उठे, “परमेश्वर के जन, इस हांड़ी में मौत है!” वे भोजन न कर सके.

41 Then he said, Bring meale. And hee cast it into the potte, and sayd, Powre out for the people, that they may eate: and there was none euill in the pot.

एलीशा ने आदेश दिया, “थोड़ा आटा ले आओ.” उन्होंने उस आटे को उस बर्तन में डाला और कहा, “अब इसे इन्हें परोस दो, कि वे इसे खा सके.” बर्तन का भोजन खाने योग्य हो चुका था.

42 Then came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, euen twenty loaues of barley, and full eares of corne in the huske. And hee saide, Giue vnto the people, that they may eate.

बाल-शालीशाह नामक स्थान से एक व्यक्ति ने आकर परमेश्वर के जन को उपज के प्रथम फल से बनाई गई बीस जौ की रोटियां और बोरे में कुछ बालें लाकर भेंट में दीं. एलीशा ने आदेश दिया, “यह सब भविष्यद्वक्ता मंडल के भविष्यवक्ताओं में बांट दिया जाए कि वे भोजन कर लें.”

43 And his seruant answered, How shoulde I set this before an hundreth men? He sayd againe, Giue it vnto the people, that they may eate: for thus sayth the Lord, They shall eate, and there shall remaine.

सेवक ने प्रश्न किया, “यह भोजन सौ व्यक्तियों के सामने कैसे रखा जाए?” एलीशा ने अपना आदेश दोहराया, “यह भोजन भविष्यद्वक्ता मंडल के भविष्यवक्ताओं को परोस दो, कि वे इसे खा सकें, क्योंकि यह याहवेह का संदेश है, ‘उनके खा चुकने के बाद भी कुछ भोजन बाकी रह जाएगा.’”

44 So he set it before them, and they did eate, and left ouer, according to the word of the Lord.

तब सेवक ने भोजन परोस दिया. वे खाकर तृप्‍त हुए और कुछ भोजन बाकी भी रह गया; जैसा याहवेह ने कहा था.
