2 Kings 3
1 Nowe Iehoram the sonne of Ahab beganne to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, the eighteenth yeere of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, and reigned twelue yeeres.
Und Jehoram, der Sohn Achabs, ward König über Israel in Samaria im achtzehnten Jahre Jehoschaphats, König von Judah, und regierte zwölf Jahre;
2 And he wrought euill in the sight of the Lord, but not like his father nor like his mother: for he tooke away the image of Baal that his father had made.
Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, doch nicht wie sein Vater und seine Mutter. Und er nahm weg die Denksäule Baals, die sein Vater machen ließ.
3 Neuerthelesse, he cleaued vnto the sinnes of Ieroboam, the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne, and departed not therefrom.
Doch hing er an den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel sündigen machte, und wich nicht davon ab.
4 Then Mesha King of Moab had store of sheepe, and rendred vnto the King of Israel an hundreth thousande lambes, and an hundreth thousande rammes with the wooll.
Und Mescha, der König Moabs, war ein Schafzüchter und brachte dem König von Israel hunderttausend Lämmer und hunderttausend Widder in der Wolle.
5 But when Ahab was dead, the king of Moab rebelled against the King of Israel.
Und es geschah, als Achab starb, fiel Moabs König ab vom Könige Israels.
6 Therefore King Iehoram went out of Samaria the same season, and nombred all Israel,
Und der König Jehoram zog an selbigem Tage aus von Samaria und musterte ganz Israel.
7 And went, and sent to Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, saying, The King of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou goe with me to battell against Moab? And he answered, I will goe vp: for I am, as thou art, my people, as thy people, and mine horses as thine horses.
Und ging hin und sandte an Jehoschaphat, den König von Judah, und ließ ihm sagen: Der König von Moab ist von mir abgefallen, willst du mit mir wider Moab zum Streite ziehen? Und er sprach: Ich will hinaufziehen, ich will sein wie du, mein Volk wie dein Volk, meine Rosse wie deine Rosse.
8 Then said he, What way shall we goe vp? And he answered, The way of the wildernesse of Edom.
Und er sprach: Welchen Weg wollen wir hinaufziehen? Und er sprach: Den Weg der Wüste Edoms.
9 So went the King of Israel and the king of Iudah, and the King of Edom, and when they had compassed the way seuen dayes, they had no water for the hoste, nor for the cattell that followed them.
Und es zogen der König von Israel und der König von Judah und der König von Edom hin, und zogen einen Weg von sieben Tagen umher und hatten kein Wasser für das Lager und für das Vieh, das ihnen folgte.
10 Therefore the King of Israel sayde, Alas, that the Lord hath called these three Kings, to giue them into the hand of Moab.
Und der König von Israel sprach: O wehe! Jehovah hat diese drei Könige gerufen, um sie in Moabs Hand zu geben.
11 But Iehoshaphat saide, Is there not here a Prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? And one of the King of Israels seruants answered, and said, Here is Elisha the sonne of Shaphat, which powred water on the handes of Eliiah.
Jehoschaphat aber sprach: Ist kein Prophet Jehovahs da, daß wir Jehovah durch ihn befragen? Und es antwortete einer von den Knechten des Königs von Israel und sprach: Da ist Elischa, der Sohn Schaphats, der dem Elijahu das Wasser über die Hände goß.
12 Then Iehoshaphat saide, The worde of the Lord is with him. Therefore the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat, and the King of Edom went downe to him.
Und Jehoschaphat sprach: Mit dem ist Jehovahs Wort. Und sie gingen zu ihm hinab, der König von Israel und Jehoschaphat und der König von Edom.
13 And Elisha sayde vnto the King of Israel, What haue I to doe with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father and to the prophets of thy mother. And the King of Israel saide vnto him, Nay: for the Lord hath called these three Kings, to giue them into the hande of Moab.
Elischa aber sprach zum König von Israel: Was ist mir und dir? Gehe hin zu den Propheten deines Vaters und zu den Propheten deiner Mutter! Und es sprach zu ihm der König von Israel: Nein! Denn Jehovah hat diese drei Könige gerufen, sie in Moabs Hand zu geben.
14 Then Elisha said, As the Lord of hostes liueth, in whose sight I stande, if it were not, that I regarde the presence of Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah, I woulde not haue looked towarde thee, nor seene thee.
Und Elischa sprach: Beim Leben Jehovahs der Heerscharen, vor Dessen Angesicht ich stehe, würde ich nicht das Angesicht Jehoschaphats, des Königs von Judah, erheben, so wollte ich nicht dich anblicken, noch dich sehen.
15 But nowe bring me a minstrel. And when the minstrel played, the hand of the Lord came vpon him.
Und nun holet mir denn einen Saitenspieler! Und es geschah, wie der Saitenspieler spielte, war die Hand Jehovahs über ihm;
16 And he saide, Thus saith the Lord, Make this valley full of ditches.
Und er sprach: So spricht Jehovah: Machet dieses Bachtal Gruben an Gruben.
17 For thus saith the Lord, Ye shall neither see winde nor see raine, yet the valley shalbe filled with water, that ye may drinke, both ye and your cattel, and your beastes.
Denn so spricht Jehovah: Ihr sollt keinen Wind sehen und sollt keinen Regen sehen, aber dieses Bachtal soll sich mit Wasser füllen, auf daß ihr trinket, ihr und eure Viehherden und euer Vieh.
18 But this is a small thing in the sight of the Lord: for he will giue Moab into your hande.
Und dies ist leicht in Jehovahs Augen, und Er wird Moab in eure Hände geben.
19 And ye shall smite euery strong towne and euery chiefe citie, and shall fell euery faire tree, and shall stoppe all the fountaines of water, and marre euery good fielde with stones.
Und schlagen sollt ihr alle festen Städte und alle auserwählten Städte, und sollt fällen jeglichen guten Baum, verstopfen alle Brunnquellen der Wasser und jedes gute Grundstück mit Steinen schädigen.
20 And in the morning whe the meat offring was offred, beholde, there came water by the way of Edom: and the countrey was filled with water.
Und es geschah am Morgen, da man das Speiseopfer aufopferte, und siehe, es kamen Wasser des Weges von Edom, und das Land füllte sich mit Wasser.
21 And when al the Moabites heard that the Kings were come vp to fight against them, they gathered all that was able to put on harnesse, and vpwarde, and stood in their border.
Und ganz Moab hörte, daß die Könige heraufzögen, wider sie zu streiten, und es wurde alles aufgeboten, was den Gürtel gürtete, und noch darüber, und sie standen an der Grenze.
22 And they rose earely in the morning, when the sunne arose vpon the water, and the Moabites saw the water ouer against them, as red as blood.
Und sie standen früh auf am Morgen und die Sonne ging auf über dem Wasser, und Moab sah sich gegenüber die Wasser rot wie Blut.
23 And they saide, This is blood the Kings are surely slaine, and one hath smitten another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoyle.
Und sie sprachen: Das ist Blut, die Könige haben sich mit dem Schwerte verheert, und der Mann hat seinen Genossen geschlagen! Und nun zur Beute, Moab!
24 And when they came to the host of Israel, the Israelites arose vp, and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them, but they inuaded them, and smote Moab.
Und sie kamen an das Lager Israels, und Israel machte sich auf und schlug Moab, und sie flohen vor ihnen und sie kamen hinein, und schlugen Moab.
25 And they destroyed the cities: and on all the good field euery man cast his stone, and filled them and they stopt all the fountaines of water, and felled all the good trees: onely in Kirharaseth left they the stones thereof: howebeit they went about it with slings, and smote it.
Und die Städte rissen sie nieder, und auf jedes gute Grundstück warf jeder Mann seinen Stein und machte es voll, und verstopften jeden Brunnquell der Wasser, und fällten jeden guten Baum, so daß nur die Steine in der Mauer von Chareseth verblieben. Und die Schleuderer umgaben sie und schlugen sie.
26 And when the King of Moab saw that the battel was too sore for him, he tooke with him seuen hudreth men that drew the sword, to break through vnto the King of Edom: but they could not.
Und der König von Moab sah, daß der Streit für ihn zu stark ward, und nahm mit sich siebenhundert Mann, die das Schwert zogen, durchzubrechen zum König Edoms, und er vermochte es nicht.
27 Then he tooke his eldest sonne, that should haue reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offring vpon the wall: so that Israel was sore grieued, and they departed from him, and returned to their countrey.
Und er nahm seinen Sohn, den erstgeborenen, der König werden sollte an seiner Stelle, und opferte ihn auf als Brandopfer auf der Stadtmauer. Und es war eine große Entrüstung über Israel, und sie brachen von ihm auf und kehrten zum Land zurück.
