2 Kings 24

1 In his dayes came Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel vp, and Iehoiakim became his seruant three yeere: afterwarde he turned, and rebelled against him.

‌ʻI hono ngaahi ʻaho ʻoʻona naʻe ʻalu hake ai ʻa Nepukanesa ko e tuʻi ʻo Papilone, pea naʻe hoko ʻa Sihoiakimi ko ʻene tamaioʻeiki ʻi he taʻu ʻe tolu: pea hili ia naʻa ne toe angatuʻu kiate ia.

2 And the Lord sent against him bandes of the Caldees, and bands of the Aramites, and bands of the Moabites, and bandes of the Ammonites, and he sent them against Iudah to destroy it, according to the worde of the Lord, which he spake by his seruants the Prophets.

Pea naʻe fekau ʻe Sihova kiate ia ʻae kautau ʻoe kakai Kalitia mo e kautau ʻoe kakai Silia, mo e kautau ʻoe kakai Moape, mo e kautau ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻAmoni, pea ne fekauʻi ʻakinautolu ke tauʻi ʻa Siuta, ke fakaʻauha ia, ʻo fakatatau ki he folofola ʻa Sihova ʻaia naʻa ne folofola ai ʻi heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki ko e kau palōfita.

3 Surely by the commandement of the Lord came this vpon Iudah, that he might put them out of his sight for the sinnes of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

Ko e moʻoni naʻe hoko ʻae meʻa ni ki Siuta ʻi he fekau ʻa Sihova, ke hiki ʻakinautolu mei hono ʻao, koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi angahala ʻa Manase, ʻo fakatatau ki he meʻa kotoa pē naʻa ne fai;

4 And for the innocent blood that he shed, (for he filled Ierusalem with innocent blood) therefore the Lord would not pardon it.

Pea koeʻuhi foki ko e toto māʻoniʻoni naʻa ne lilingi: he naʻa ne fakapito ʻa Selūsalema ʻi he toto māʻoniʻoni; ʻaia naʻe ʻikai finangalo ʻa Sihova ke fakamolemole.

5 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kinges of Iudah?

Pea ko e toe ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻa Sihoiakimi, mo ia kotoa pē naʻa ne fai ʻikai kuo tohi ia ʻi he tohi fakamatala ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta?

6 So Iehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Iehoiachin his sonne reigned in his steade.

Pea naʻe mohe ʻa Sihoiakimi mo ʻene ngaahi tamai: pea naʻe fetongi ia ʻi he pule ʻe hono foha ko Sihoiakini.

7 And the King of Egypt came no more out of his lande: for the King of Babel had taken from the riuer of Egypt, vnto the riuer Perath, all that pertained to the King of Egypt.

Pea naʻe ʻikai toe haʻu ʻae tuʻi ʻo ʻIsipite mei hono fonua: he naʻe maʻu ʻe he tuʻi ʻo Papilone ʻaia kotoa pē naʻe ʻoe tuʻi ʻo ʻIsipite, mei he vaitafe ʻo ʻIsipite, ʻo aʻu ki he vaitafe ko ʻIufaletesi.

8 Iehoiachin was eighteene yere old, when he beganne to reigne, and reigned in Ierusalem three moneths. His mothers name also was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Ierusalem.

Naʻe hongofulu ma valu taʻu ʻae motuʻa ʻo Sihoiakini ʻi heʻene kamata ʻene pule, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi Selūsalema ʻi he māhina ʻe tolu. Pea ko e hingoa ʻo ʻene faʻē ko Nehusita, ko e ʻofefine ʻo Elinatani ʻo Selūsalema.

9 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father had done.

Pea naʻe fai ʻe ia ʻae kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ʻo hangē ko ia kotoa pē naʻe fai ʻe heʻene tamai.

10 In that time came the seruants of Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel vp against Ierusalem: so the citie was besieged.

ʻI he kuonga ko ia naʻe haʻu ai ʻae kau tamaioʻeiki ʻa Nepukanesa ko e tuʻi ʻo Papilone ke tauʻi ʻa Selūsalema, pea naʻe kāpui ʻae kolo ʻaki ʻae tau.

11 And Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel came against the citie, and his seruants did besiege it.

Pea naʻe haʻu ʻa Nepukanesa ko e tuʻi ʻo Papilone ke tauʻi ʻae kolo, pea naʻe kāpui ia ʻe heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki,

12 Then Iehoiachin the king of Iudah came out against the King of Babel, he, and his mother and his seruants, and his princes, and his eunuches: and the King of Babel tooke him in the eyght yeere of his reigne.

Pea naʻe ʻalu kituʻa ʻa Sihoiakini ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta ki he tuʻi ʻo Papilone, ʻaia mo ʻene faʻē, mo ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki, mo ʻene houʻeiki, mo ʻene kau matāpule: pea naʻe puke ia ʻe he tuʻi ʻo Papilone ʻi hono valu taʻu ʻo ʻene pule.

13 And he caryed out thence all the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house, and brake all the vessels of gold, which Salomon King of Israel had made in the Temple of the Lord, as the Lord had saide.

Pea naʻa ne fetuku mei ai ʻae ngaahi koloa kotoa pē ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova, mo e ngaahi koloa mei he fale ʻoe tuʻi, pea naʻa ne tuʻutuʻu ke iiki ʻae ngaahi ipu koula ʻaia naʻe ngaohi ʻe Solomone ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli ʻi he faletapu ʻo Sihova, ʻo hangē ko e folofola ʻa Sihova.

14 And he caryed away all Ierusalem, and all the princes, and all the strong men of warre, euen ten thousande into captiuitie, and all the workemen, and cunning men: so none remained sauing the poore people of the lande.

Pea naʻa ne fetuku ʻo ʻave ʻae kakai Selūsalema kotoa pē mo e ngaahi houʻeiki kotoa pē, mo e kau tangata toʻa kotoa pē, ʻio, ko e pōpula ʻe tokotaha mano, mo e kau tangata tufunga mo e kau tufunga ukamea: naʻe ʻikai toe ha [kakai], ka ko e kakai masiva ʻaupito ʻoe fonua.

15 And he caryed away Iehoiachin into Babel, and the Kings mother, and the Kinges wiues, and his eunuches, and the mightie of the lande caryed he away into captiuitie from Ierusalem to Babel,

Pea naʻa ne ʻave ʻa Sihoiakini ki Papilone, mo e faʻē ʻae tuʻi, mo e ngaahi uaifi ʻoe tuʻi, mo ʻene kau matāpule, mo e kau mālohi ʻoe fonua, naʻa ne fetuku pōpula ʻakinautolu mei Selūsalema ki Papilone.

16 And al the men of warre, euen seuen thousand, and carpenters, and lockesmithes a thousande: all that were strong and apt for warre, did the King of Babel bring to Babel captiues.

Pea ko e kau tangata toʻa kotoa pē, ʻio, ʻae toko fitu afe, mo e kau tufunga kehekehe, mo e kau tuki ukamea, ko e toko taha afe, ʻakinautolu kotoa pē naʻe mālohi mo poto ʻi he tau, naʻe fetuku pōpula ʻakinautolu ʻe he tuʻi ʻo Papilone ki Papilone.

17 And the King of Babel made Mattaniah his vncle King in his steade, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

Pea naʻe fakanofo ʻe he tuʻi ʻo Papilone ʻa Matania ko e tokoua ʻo ʻene tamai ke tuʻi ia ko hono fetongi, pea naʻa ne liliu hono hingoa ko Setikia.

18 Zedekiah was one and twentie yeere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeeres in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Hamutal the daughter of Ieremiah of Libnah.

Naʻe uofulu ma taha ʻae taʻu ʻae motuʻa ʻo Setikia ʻi heʻene kamata ʻene pule, pea naʻe pule ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe hongofulu ma taha ʻi Selūsalema. Pea ko e hingoa ʻo ʻene faʻē ko Hamutali, ko e ʻofefine ia ʻo Selemaia ʻo Lipina.

19 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Iehoiakim had done.

Pea naʻe fai kovi ʻe ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ʻo hangē ko ia kotoa pē naʻe fai ʻe Sihoiakimi.

20 Therefore certainly the wrath of the Lord was against Ierusalem and Iudah vntill he cast them out of his sight. And Zedekiah rebelled against the King of Babel.
