2 Kings 24
1 In his dayes came Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel vp, and Iehoiakim became his seruant three yeere: afterwarde he turned, and rebelled against him.
De son temps Nébuchadnetsar, Roi de Babylone, monta [contre Jéhojakim], et Jéhojakim lui fut asservi l'espace de trois ans; puis ayant changé de volonté, il se rebella contre lui.
2 And the Lord sent against him bandes of the Caldees, and bands of the Aramites, and bands of the Moabites, and bandes of the Ammonites, and he sent them against Iudah to destroy it, according to the worde of the Lord, which he spake by his seruants the Prophets.
Et l'Eternel envoya contre Jéhojakim des troupes de Chaldéens, et des troupes de Syriens, et des troupes de Moab, et des troupes des enfants de Hammon; il les envoya, dis-je, contre Juda, pour le détruire, suivant la parole de l'Eternel qu'il avait prononcée par le moyen des Prophètes ses serviteurs.
3 Surely by the commandement of the Lord came this vpon Iudah, that he might put them out of his sight for the sinnes of Manasseh, according to all that he did,
Et cela arriva selon le mandement de l'Eternel contre Juda, pour le rejeter de devant sa face, à cause des péchés de Manassé, selon tout ce qu'il avait fait;
4 And for the innocent blood that he shed, (for he filled Ierusalem with innocent blood) therefore the Lord would not pardon it.
Et à cause aussi du sang innocent qu'il avait répandu, ayant rempli Jérusalem de sang innocent; [c'est pourquoi] l'Eternel ne lui voulut point pardonner.
5 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kinges of Iudah?
Le reste des faits de Jéhojakim, tout ce, dis-je, qu'il a fait, n'est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des Rois de Juda?
6 So Iehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Iehoiachin his sonne reigned in his steade.
Ainsi Jéhojakim s'endormit avec ses pères; et Jéhojachin son fils régna en sa place.
7 And the King of Egypt came no more out of his lande: for the King of Babel had taken from the riuer of Egypt, vnto the riuer Perath, all that pertained to the King of Egypt.
Or le Roi d'Egypte ne sortit plus de son pays, parce que le Roi de Babylone avait pris tout ce qui était au Roi d Egypte, depuis le torrent d'Egypte jusqu'au fleuve d'Euphrate.
8 Iehoiachin was eighteene yere old, when he beganne to reigne, and reigned in Ierusalem three moneths. His mothers name also was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Ierusalem.
Jéhojachin était âgé de dix-huit ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem; sa mère avait nom Nehusta, fille d'Elnathan de Jérusalem.
9 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father had done.
Il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel, comme avait fait son père.
10 In that time came the seruants of Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel vp against Ierusalem: so the citie was besieged.
En ce temps-là les gens de Nébuchadnetsar, Roi de Babylone, montèrent contre Jérusalem, et là ville fut assiégée.
11 And Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel came against the citie, and his seruants did besiege it.
Et Nébuchadnetsar Roi de Babylone vint contre la ville, lorsque ses gens l'assiégeaient.
12 Then Iehoiachin the king of Iudah came out against the King of Babel, he, and his mother and his seruants, and his princes, and his eunuches: and the King of Babel tooke him in the eyght yeere of his reigne.
Alors Jéhojachin Roi de Juda sortit vers le Roi de Babylone, lui, sa mère, ses gens, ses capitaines, et ses Eunuques; de sorte que le Roi de Babylone le prit la huitième année de son règne.
13 And he caryed out thence all the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house, and brake all the vessels of gold, which Salomon King of Israel had made in the Temple of the Lord, as the Lord had saide.
Et il tira hors de là, selon que l'Eternel en avait parlé, tous les trésors de la maison de l'Eternel, et les trésors de la maison Royale, et mit en pièces tous les ustensiles d'or que Salomon Roi d'Israël avait faits pour le Temple de l'Eternel.
14 And he caryed away all Ierusalem, and all the princes, and all the strong men of warre, euen ten thousande into captiuitie, and all the workemen, and cunning men: so none remained sauing the poore people of the lande.
Et il transporta tout Jérusalem, savoir, tous les capitaines, et tous les vaillants hommes de guerre, au nombre de dix mille captifs, avec les charpentiers et les serruriers, de sorte qu'il ne demeura personne de reste que le pauvre peuple du pays.
15 And he caryed away Iehoiachin into Babel, and the Kings mother, and the Kinges wiues, and his eunuches, and the mightie of the lande caryed he away into captiuitie from Ierusalem to Babel,
Ainsi il transporta Jéhojachin à Babylone, avec la mère du Roi, et les femmes du Roi et ses Eunuques, et il emmena captifs à Babylone tous les plus puissants du pays de Jérusalem;
16 And al the men of warre, euen seuen thousand, and carpenters, and lockesmithes a thousande: all that were strong and apt for warre, did the King of Babel bring to Babel captiues.
Avec tous les hommes vaillants au nombre de sept mille, et les charpentiers et les serruriers au nombre de mille, tous puissants et propres à la guerre, lesquels le Roi de Babylone emmena captifs [à] Babylone.
17 And the King of Babel made Mattaniah his vncle King in his steade, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
Et le Roi de Babylone établit pour Roi, en la place de Jéhojachin, Mattania son oncle, et lui changea son nom, [l'appelant] Sédécias.
18 Zedekiah was one and twentie yeere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeeres in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Hamutal the daughter of Ieremiah of Libnah.
Sédécias était âgé de vingt et un ans, quand il commença à régner, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem; sa mère avait nom Hamutal, fille de Jérémie de Libna.
19 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Iehoiakim had done.
Il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel comme avait fait Jéhojakim.
20 Therefore certainly the wrath of the Lord was against Ierusalem and Iudah vntill he cast them out of his sight. And Zedekiah rebelled against the King of Babel.
Car il arriva à cause de la colère de l'Eternel contre Jérusalem et contre Juda, afin qu'il les rejetât de devant sa face, que Sédécias se rebella contre le Roi de Babylone.
