2 Kings 23
1 Then the King sent, and there gathered vnto him all the Elders of Iudah and of Ierusalem.
ENTONCES el rey envió, y juntaron á él todos los ancianos de Judá y de Jerusalem.
2 And the King went vp into the house of the Lord, with all the men of Iudah and all the inhabitants of Ierusalem with him, and the Priests and Prophets, and all the people both small and great: and he reade in their eares all the wordes of the booke of the couenant, which was found in the house of the Lord.
Y subió el rey á la casa de Jehová con todos los varones de Judá, y con todos los moradores de Jerusalem, con los sacerdotes y profetas y con todo el pueblo, desde el más chico hasta el más grande; y leyó, oyéndolo ellos, todas las palabras del libro del pacto que había sido hallado en la casa de Jehová.
3 And the King stood by the pillar, and made a couenant before the Lord, that they shoulde walke after the Lord, and keepe his commandements, and his testimonies, and his statutes with all their heart, and with all their soule, that they might accomplish the wordes of this couenant written in this booke. And all the people stood to the couenant.
Y poniéndose el rey en pie junto á la columna, hizo alianza delante de Jehová, de que irían en pos de Jehová, y guardarían sus mandamientos, y sus testimonios, y sus estatutos, con todo el corazón y con toda el alma, y que cumplirían las palabras de la alianza que estaban escritas en aquel libro. Y todo el pueblo confirmó el pacto.
4 Then the King commanded Hilkiah the hie Priest and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the doore, to bring out of ye Temple of the Lord all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the groue, and for all the hoste of heauen, and he burnt them without Ierusalem in the fieldes of Kedron, and caryed the pouder of them into Beth-el.
Entonces mandó el rey al sumo sacerdote Hilcías, y á los sacerdotes de segundo orden, y á los guardianes de la puerta, que sacasen del templo de Jehová todos los vasos que habían sido hechos para Baal, y para el bosque, y para toda la milicia del cielo; y quemólos fuera de Jerusalem en el campo de Cedrón, é hizo llevar las cenizas de ellos á Beth-el.
5 And he put downe the Chemarims, whom the Kings of Iudah had founded to burne incense in the hie places, and in the cities of Iudah, and about Ierusalem, and also them that burnt incense vnto Baal, to the sunne and to the moone, and to the planets, and to all the hoste of heauen.
Y quitó á los Camoreos, que habían puesto los reyes de Judá para que quemasen perfumes en los altos en las ciudades de Judá, y en los alrededores de Jerusalem; y asimismo á los que quemaban perfumes á Baal, al sol y á la luna, y á los signos, y á todo el ejército del cielo.
6 And he brought out the groue from the Temple of the Lord without Ierusalem vnto the valley of Kedron, and burnt it in the valley Kedron, and stampt it to pouder, and cast the dust thereof vpon the graues of the children of the people.
Hizo también sacar el bosque fuera de la casa de Jehová, fuera de Jerusalem, al torrente de Cedrón, y quemólo en el torrente de Cedrón, y tornólo en polvo, y echó el polvo de él sobre los sepulcros de los hijos del pueblo.
7 And hee brake downe the houses of the Sodomites, that were in the house of the Lord, where the women woue hangings for the groue.
Además derribó las casas de los sodomitas que estaban en la casa de Jehová, en las cuales tejían las mujeres pabellones para el bosque.
8 Also he brought all the priests out of the cities of Iudah, and defiled the hie places where the Priests had burnt incense, euen from Geba to Beer-sheba, and destroyed the hie places of the gates, that were in the entring in of the gate of Ioshua the gouernour of the citie, which was at the left hand of the gate of the citie.
E hizo venir todos los sacerdotes de las ciudades de Judá, y profanó los altos donde los sacerdotes quemaban perfumes, desde Gabaa hasta Beer-seba; y derribó los altares de las puertas que estaban á la entrada de la puerta de Josué, gobernador de la ciudad, que estaban á la mano izquierda, á la puerta de la ciudad.
9 Neuerthelesse the Priests of the hie places came not vp to the altar of the Lord in Ierusalem, saue onely they did eate of the vnleauened bread among their brethren.
Empero los sacerdotes de los altos no subían al altar de Jehová en Jerusalem, mas comían panes sin levadura entre sus hermanos.
10 He defiled also Topheth, which was in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man shoulde make his sonne or his daughter passe through the fire to Molech.
Asimismo profanó á Topheth, que está en el valle del hijo de Hinnom, porque ninguno pasase su hijo ó su hija por fuego á Moloch.
11 He put downe also the horses that the Kings of Iudah had giuen to the sunne at the entring in of the house of the Lord, by the chamber of Nethan-melech the eunuche, which was ruler of the suburbes, and burnt the charets of the sunne with fire.
Quitó también los caballos que los reyes de Judá habían dedicado al sol á la entrada del templo de Jehová, junto á la cámara de Nathan-melech eunuco, el cual tenía cargo de los ejidos; y quemó al fuego los carros del sol.
12 And the altars that were on the top of the chamber of Ahaz, which the Kings of Iudah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord did the King breake downe, and hasted thence, and cast the dust of them in the brooke Kedron.
Derribó además el rey los altares que estaban sobre la techumbre de la sala de Achâz, que los reyes de Judá habían hecho, y los altares que había hecho Manasés en los dos atrios de la casa de Jehová; y de allí corrió y arrojó el polvo en el torrente de Cedrón.
13 Moreouer the King defiled the hie places that were before Ierusalem and on the right hand of the mount of corruption (which Salomon the King of Israel had buylt for Ashtoreth the idole of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the idole of the Moabites, and for Milchom the abomination of the children of Ammon)
Asimismo profanó el rey los altos que estaban delante de Jerusalem, á la mano derecha del monte de la destrucción, los cuales Salomón rey de Israel había edificado á Astharoth, abominación de los Sidonios, y á Chêmos abominación de Moab, y á Milcom abominación de los hijos de Ammón.
14 And he brake the images in pieces, and cut downe the groues and filled their places with the bones of men.
Y quebró las estatuas, y taló los bosques, é hinchió el lugar de ellos de huesos de hombres.
15 Furthermore the altar that was at Beth-el, and the hie place made by Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne, both this altar and also the hie place, brake he downe, and burnt the hie place, and stampt it to powder and burnt the groue.
Igualmente el altar que estaba en Beth-el, y el alto que había hecho Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar á Israel, aquel altar y el alto destruyó; y quemó el alto, y lo tornó en polvo, y puso fuego al bosque.
16 And as Iosiah turned himselfe, he spied the graues, that were in the mount, and sent and tooke the bones out of the graues, and burnt them vpon the altar and polluted it, according to the word of the Lord, that the man of God proclaimed, which cryed the same wordes.
Y volvióse Josías, y viendo los sepulcros que estaban allí en el monte, envió y sacó los huesos de los sepulcros, y quemólos sobre el altar para contaminarlo, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había profetizado el varón de Dios, el cual había anunciado estos negocios.
17 Then he sayde, What title is that which I see? And the men of the citie sayd vnto him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Iudah, and tolde these things that thou hast done to the altar of Beth-el.
Y después dijo: ¿Qué título es este que veo? Y los de la ciudad le respondieron: Este es el sepulcro del varón de Dios que vino de Judá, y profetizó estas cosas que tú has hecho sobre el altar de Beth-el.
18 Then sayde he, Let him alone: let none remooue his bones. So his bones were saued with the bones of the Prophet that came from Samaria.
Y él dijo: Dejadlo; ninguno mueva sus huesos: y así fueron preservados sus huesos, y los huesos del profeta que había venido de Samaria.
19 Iosiah also tooke away all the houses of the hie places, which were in the cities of Samaria, which the Kings of Israel had made to anger the Lord, and did to them according to all the factes that he had done in Beth-el.
Y todas las casas de los altos que estaban en las ciudades de Samaria, las cuales habían hecho los reyes de Israel para provocar á ira, quitólas también Josías, é hizo de ellas como había hecho en Beth-el.
20 And he sacrificed all the Priests of the hie places, that were there vpon the altars, and burnt mens bones vpon them, and returned to Ierusalem.
Mató además sobre los altares á todos los sacerdotes de los altos que allí estaban, y quemó sobre ellos huesos de hombres, y volvióse á Jerusalem.
21 Then the king commanded all the people, saying, Keepe the passeouer vnto the Lord your God, as it is written in the booke of this couenant.
Entonces mandó el rey á todo el pueblo, diciendo: Haced la pascua á Jehová vuestro Dios, conforme á lo que está escrito en el libro de esta alianza.
22 And there was no Passeouer holden like that from the dayes of the Iudges that iudged Israel, nor in all the dayes of the Kinges of Israel, and of the Kings of Iudah.
No fué hecha tal pascua desde los tiempos de los jueces que gobernaron á Israel, ni en todos los tiempos de los reyes de Israel, y de los reyes de Judá.
23 And in the eightenth yere of King Iosiah was this Passeouer celebrated to the Lord in Ierusalem.
A los diez y ocho años del rey Josías fué hecha aquella pascua á Jehová en Jerusalem.
24 Iosiah also tooke away them that had familiar spirits, and the soothsayers, and the images, and the idoles, and al the abominations that were espied in the lande of Iudah and in Ierusalem, to performe the wordes of the Lawe, which were written in the booke that Hilkiah the Priest found in the house of the Lord.
Asimismo barrió Josías los pythones, adivinos, y terapheos, y todas las abominaciones que se veían en la tierra de Judá y en Jerusalem, para cumplir las palabras de la ley que estaban escritas en el libro que el sacerdote Hilcías había hallado en la casa de Jehová.
25 Like vnto him was there no King before him, that turned to the Lord with al his heart, and with all his soule, and with all his might according to all the Lawe of Moses, neither after him arose there anie like him.
No hubo tal rey antes de él que se convirtiese á Jehová de todo su corazón, y de toda su alma, y de todas su fuerzas, conforme á toda la ley de Moisés; ni después de él nació otro tal.
26 Notwithstanding the Lord turned not from the fiercenesse of his great wrath wherewith he was angrie against Iudah, because of all the prouocatios wherwith Manasseh had prouoked him.
Con todo eso, no se volvió Jehová del ardor de su grande ira, con que se había encendido su enojo contra Judá, por todas las provocaciones con que Manasés le había irritado.
27 Therefore the Lord saide, I will put Iudah also out of my sight, as I haue put away Israel, and will cast off this citie Ierusalem, which I haue chosen, and the house whereof I said, My name shalbe there.
Y dijo Jehová: También he de quitar de mi presencia á Judá, como quité á Israel, y abominaré á esta ciudad que había escogido, á Jerusalem, y á la casa de la cual había yo dicho: Mi nombre será allí.
28 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iosiah, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Lo demás de los hechos de Josías, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
29 In his dayes Pharaoh Nechoh King of Egypt went vp against the King of Asshur to the riuer Perath. And King Iosiah went against him, whome when Pharaoh sawe, he slewe him at Megiddo.
En aquellos días Faraón Nechâo rey de Egipto subió contra el rey de Asiria al río Eufrates, y salió contra él el rey Josías; pero aquél, así que le vió, matólo en Megiddo.
30 Then his seruants caryed him dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Ierusalem, and buried him in his owne sepulchre. And the people of the lande tooke Iehoahaz the sonne of Iosiah, and anointed him, and made him King in his fathers steade.
Y sus siervos lo pusieron en un carro, y trajéronlo muerto de Megiddo á Jerusalem, y sepultáronlo en su sepulcro. Entonces el pueblo de la tierra tomó á Joachâz hijo de Josías, y ungiéronle y pusiéronlo por rey en lugar de su padre.
31 Iehoahaz was three and twentie yeere olde when he beganne to reigne, and reigned three moneths in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Hamutal the daughter of Ieremiah of Libnah.
De veintitrés años era Joachâz cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Amutal, hija de Jeremías de Libna.
32 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.
Y él hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que sus padres habían hecho.
33 And Pharaoh Nechoh put him in bondes at Riblah in the lande of Hamath, while he reigned in Ierusalem, and put the lande to a tribute of an hundreth talents of siluer, and a talent of golde.
Y echólo preso Faraón Nechâo en Ribla en la provincia de Hamath, reinando él en Jerusalem; é impuso sobre la tierra una multa de cien talentos de plata, y uno de oro.
34 And Pharaoh Nechoh made Eliakim the sonne of Iosiah King in steade of Iosiah his father, and turned his name to Iehoiakim, and tooke Iehoahaz away, which when he came to Egypt, dyed there.
Entonces Faraón Nechâo puso por rey á Eliacim hijo de Josías, en lugar de Josías su padre, y mudóle el nombre en el de Joacim; y tomó á Joachâz, y llevólo á Egipto, y murió allí.
35 And Iehoiakim gaue the siluer and the golde to Pharaoh, and taxed the land to giue the money, according to the commadement of Pharaoh: he leuyed of euery man of the people of the lande, according to his value, siluer and golde to giue vnto Pharaoh Nechoh.
Y Joacim pagó á Faraón la plata y el oro; mas hizo apreciar la tierra para dar el dinero conforme al mandamiento de Faraón, sacando la plata y oro del pueblo de la tierra, de cada uno según la estimación [de su hacienda], para dar á Faraón Nechâo.
36 Iehoiakim was fiue and twentie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeeres in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Zebudah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
De veinticinco años era Joacim cuando comenzó á Reinar, y once años reinó en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Zebuda hija de Pedaia, de Ruma.
37 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.
E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que sus padres habían hecho.
