2 Kings 21

1 Manasseh was twelue yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned fiftie and fiue yeere in Ierusalem: his mothers name also was Hephzi-bah.

Manasse var tolv år gammal, när han blev konung, och han regerade femtiofem år i Jerusalem. Hans moder hette Hefsi-Ba.

2 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord after the abomination of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

Han gjorde vad ont var i HERRENS ögon, efter den styggeliga seden hos de folk som HERREN hade fördrivit för Israels barn.

3 For he went backe and built the hie places, which Hezekiah his father had destroyed: and he erected vp altars for Baal, and made a groue, as did Ahab King of Israel, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen and serued them.

Han byggde åter upp de offerhöjder som hans fader Hiskia hade förstört, och reste altaren åt Baal och gjorde en Asera, likasom Ahab, Israels konung, hade gjort, och tillbad och tjänade himmelens hela härskara.

4 Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, of the which the Lord saide, In Ierusalem will I put my Name.

Ja, han byggde altaren i HERRENS hus, det om vilket HERREN hade sagt: "Vid Jerusalem vill jag fästa mitt namn."

5 And he built altars for al the hoste of ye heauen in the two courtes of the house of the Lord.

Han byggde altaren åt himmelens hela härskara på de båda förgårdarna till HERRENS hus.

6 And he caused his sonnes to passe through the fire, and gaue him selfe to witchcraft and sorcerie, and he vsed them that had familiar spirits and were soothsayers, and did much euill in the sight of the Lord to anger him.

Han lät ock sin son gå genom eld och övade teckentyderi och svartkonst och skaffade sig andebesvärjare och spåmän och gjorde mycket som var ont i HERRENS ögon, så att han förtörnade honom.

7 And he set the image of the groue, that he had made, in the house, whereof ye Lord had saide to Dauid and to Salomon his sonne, In this house and in Ierusalem, which I haue chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my Name for euer.

Och Aserabelätet som han hade låtit göra satte han i det hus om vilket HERREN hade sagt till David och till hans son Salomo: "Vid detta hus och vid Jerusalem som jag har utvalt bland alla Israels stammar, vill jag fästa mitt namn för evig tid

8 Neither will I make the feete of Israel, mooue any more out of the lande, which I gaue their fathers: so that they will obserue and doe all that I haue commanded them, and according to all the Lawe that my seruant Moses commanded them.

Och jag skall icke mer låta Israel vandra flyktig bort ifrån det land som jag har givit åt deras fäder, om de allenast hålla och göra allt vad jag har bjudit dem, och det alldeles efter den lag som min tjänare Mose har givit dem."

9 Yet they obeyed not, but Manasseh ledde them out of the way, to doe more wickedly then did the heathen people, whom the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.

Men de lyssnade icke härtill, och Manasse förförde dem, så att de gjorde mer ont än de folk som HERREN hade förgjort för Israels barn.

10 Therefore the Lord spake by his seruants the Prophets, saying,

Då talade HERREN genom sina tjänare profeterna och sade:

11 Because that Manasseh King of Iudah hath done such abominations, and hath wrought more wickedly then al that the Amorites (which were before him) did, and hath made Iudah sinne also with his idoles,

"Eftersom Manasse, Juda konung, har bedrivit dessa styggelser och så gjort mer ont, än allt vad amoréerna som voro före honom hava gjort, så att han med sina eländiga avgudar har kommit också Juda att synda,

12 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Beholde, I will bring an euill vpon Ierusalem and Iudah, that who so heareth of it, both his eares shall tingle.

därför säger HERREN, Israels Gud, så: 'Se, jag skall låta en sådan olycka komma över Jerusalem och Juda, att det skall genljuda i båda öronen på var och en som får höra det.

13 And I will stretch ouer Ierusalem the line of Samaria, and the plommet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Ierusalem, as a man wipeth a dish, which he wipeth, and turneth it vpside downe.

Och mot Jerusalem skall jag bruka det mätsnöre som jag brukade mot Samaria, och det sänklod som jag brukade mot Ahabs hus; och jag skall skölja Jerusalem tomt, såsom man sköljer ett fat och, sedan man har sköljt det, vänder det upp och ned.

14 And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliuer them into the hande of their enemies, and they shalbe robbed and spoyled of all their aduersaries,

Och jag skall förskjuta kvarlevan av min arvedel och giva dem i deras fienders hand, så att de skola bliva ett rov och ett byte för alla sina fiender --

15 Because they haue done euil in my sight, and haue prouoked mee to anger, since the time their fathers came out of Egypt vntill this day.

detta därför att de hava gjort vad ont är i mina ögon och beständigt förtörnat mig, från den dag då deras fader drogo ut ur Egypten ända till denna dag.'"

16 Moreouer Manasseh shed innocent blood exceeding much, till hee replenished Ierusalem from corner to corner, beside his sinne wherwith he made Iudah to sinne, and to doe euill in the sight of the Lord.

Därtill utgöt ock Manasse oskyldigt blod i så stor myckenhet, att han därmed uppfyllde Jerusalem från den ena ändan till den andra -- detta förutom den särskilda syns genom vilken han kom Juda att synda och göra vad ont var i HERRENS ögon.

17 Concerning the rest of the actes of Manasseh, and all that hee did, and his sinne that he sinned, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

Vad nu mer är att säga om Manasse och om allt vad han gjorde så ock om den synd han begick det finnes upptecknat i Juda konungars krönika.

18 And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, euen in the garden of Vzza: and Amon his sonne reigned in his steade.

Och Manasse gick till vila hos sina fäder och blev begraven i trädgården till sitt hus, i Ussas trädgård. Och hans son Amon blev konung efter honom.

19 Amon was two and twentie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and hee reygned two yeere in Ierusalem: his mothers name also was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Iotbah.

Amon var tjugutvå år gammal när han blev konung, och han regerade två år i Jerusalem. Hans moder hette Mesullemet, Harus' dotter, från Jotba.

20 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh did.

Han gjorde vad ont var i HERRENS ögon, såsom hans fader Manasse hade gjort.

21 For hee walked in all the way that his father walked in, and serued the idoles that his father serued, and worshipped them.

Han vandrade i allt på samma väg som hans fader hade vandrat, och tjänade och tillbad de eländiga avgudar som hans fader hade tjänat.

22 And he forsooke the Lord God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord.

Han övergav HERREN, sina fäders Gud, och vandrade icke på HERRENS väg.

23 And the seruantes of Amon conspired against him, and slewe the King in his owne house.

Och Amons tjänare sammansvuro sig mot honom och dödade konungen hemma i hans hus.

24 And the people of the land slewe all them that had conspired against King Amon, and the people made Iosiah his sonne King in his steade.

Men folket i landet dräpte alla som hade sammansvurit sig mot konung Amon. Därefter gjorde folket i landet hans son Josia till konung efter honom.

25 Concerning the rest of the actes of Amon, which he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

Vad nu mer är att säga om Amon, om vad han gjorde, det finnes upptecknat i Juda konungars krönika.

26 And they buried him in his sepulchre in the garden of Vzza: and Iosiah his sonne reigned in his steade.

Och man begrov honom i hans grav i Ussas trädgård. Och hans son Josia blev konung efter honom.
