2 Kings 20
1 About that time was Hezekiah sicke vnto death: and the Prophet Isaiah the sonne of Amoz came to him, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Put thine house in an order: for thou shalt die, and not liue.
Zu jener Zeit ward Hiskia todkrank. Da kam zu ihm der Prophet Jesaja, der Sohn des Amoz, und sprach zu ihm: So spricht Jahwe: Bestelle dein Haus, denn du wirst sterben und nicht genesen!
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,
Da wandte er sein Antlitz zur Wand und betete also zu Jahwe:
3 I beseech thee, O Lord, remember nowe, howe I haue walked before thee in trueth and with a perfite heart, and haue done that which is good in thy sight: and Hezekiah wept sore.
Ach Jahwe, gedenke doch, daß ich treulich und mit ungeteiltem Herzen vor deinem Angesicht gewandelt und gethan habe, was dir wohlgefällt! Und Hiskia brach in lautes Weinen aus.
4 And afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle of the court, the worde of the Lord came to him, saying,
Jesaja aber hatte den mittleren Vorhof noch nicht verlassen, als folgendes Wort Jahwes an ihn erging:
5 Turne againe, and tell Hezekiah the captaine of my people, Thus saith the Lord God of Dauid thy father, I haue heard thy prayer, and seene thy teares: behold, I haue healed thee, and ye third day thou shalt go vp to ye house of ye Lord,
Kehre um und sage Hiskia, dem Fürsten meines Volks: So spricht Jahwe: der Gott deines Ahnherrn David: Ich habe dein Gebet gehört und deine Tränen gesehen. So will ich dich denn heilen; schon am dritten Tage wirst du hinauf in den Tempel Jahwes gehen.
6 And I wil adde vnto thy dayes fiftene yere, and wil deliuer thee and this citie out of the hand of the King of Asshur, and will defende this citie for mine owne sake, and for Dauid my seruats sake.
Und ich will deinen Lebenstagen fünfzehn Jahre hinzufügen; dazu will ich dich und diese Stadt aus der Gewalt des Königs von Assyrien erretten und diese Stadt beschirmen um meinetwillen und um meines Knechtes David willen.
7 Then Isaiah sayde, Take a lumpe of dry figges. And they tooke it, and layed it on the boyle, and he recouered.
Darauf befahl Jesaja: bringet ein Pflaster von Feigen! Da brachten sie es und legten es auf das Geschwür; da genas er.
8 For Hezekiah had saide vnto Isaiah, What shalbe the signe that the Lord will heale me, and that I shall goe vp into the house of the Lord the thirde day?
Hiskia aber sprach zu Jesaja: Was ist das Wahrzeichen dafür, daß Jahwe mich heilen wird und ich am dritten Tage hinauf in den Tempel Jahwes gehen werde?
9 And Isaiah answered, This signe shalt thou haue of the Lord, that the Lord will doe that he hath spoken, Wilt thou that the shadowe goe forwarde ten degrees, or go backe ten degrees?
Jesaja antwortete: Dies diene dir als Zeichen von Jahwe, daß Jahwe ausführen wird, was er verheißen hat: Soll der Schatten zehn Stufen vorrücken oder soll er zehn Stufen zurückgehen?
10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadowe to passe forward ten degrees: not so then, but let ye shadow go backe ten degrees.
Hiskia erwiderte: Es ist dem Schatten ein leichtes zehn Stufen abwärts zugehen; nein, der Schatten soll um zehn Stufen rückwärts gehen.
11 And Isaiah the Prophet called vnto the Lord, and he brought againe the shadowe ten degrees backe by the degrees whereby it had gone downe in the diall of Ahaz.
Da rief der Prophet Jesaja Jahwe an; der ließ den Schatten am Sonnenzeiger des Ahas zehn Stufen rückwärts gehen.
12 The same season Berodach Baladan the sonne of Baladan King of Babel, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard howe that Hezekiah was sicke.
Zu jener Zeit sandte Merodach Baladan, der Sohn Baladans, der König von Babel, einen Brief und Geschenke an Hiskia; denn er hatte gehört, daß er krank gewesen und wieder zu Kräften gekommen war.
13 And Hezekiah heard them, and shewed them all his treasure house, to wit, the siluer, and the golde, and the spices, and the precious oyntment, and all the house of his armour, and al that was founde in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, and in all his realme, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
Und Hiskia freute sich über sie und zeigte ihnen sein ganzes Schatzhaus, das Silber und das Gold und die Spezereien und das kosbare Öl und sein ganzes Zeughaus und alles, was in seinen Schatzkammern vorhanden war. Es gab nicht, was ihnen Hiskia nicht gezeigt hätte, in seinem Palast und im ganzen Bereiche seiner Herrschaft.
14 Then Isaiah the Prophet came vnto King Hezekiah, and saide vnto him, What saide these men? and from whence came they to thee? And Hezekiah said, They be come from a farre countrey, euen from Babel.
Da kam der Prophet Jesaja zum König Hiskia und fragte ihn: Was haben diese Männer gesagt und woher kommen sie zu dir? Hiskia erwiderte: Aus fernem Lande sind sie gekommen, von Babel.
15 Then saide he, What haue they seene in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house haue they seene: there is nothing among my treasures, that I haue not shewed the.
Darauf fragte er: Was haben sie in deinem Palaste gesehen? Hiskia antwortete: Sie haben alles gesehen, was sich in meinem Palaste befindet; es giebt in meinen Schatzkammern nichts, was ich ihnen nicht gezeigt hätte.
16 And Isaiah said vnto Hezekiah, Heare the worde of the Lord.
Da sprach Jesaja zu Hiskia: Höre das Wort Jahwes:
17 Beholde, the dayes come, that all that is in thine house, and what so euer thy fathers haue layed vp in store vnto this day, shall be caryed into Babel: Nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
Es wird die Zeit kommen, wo alles, was sich in deinem Palaste befindet und was deine Väter bis zum heutigen Tage aufgespeichert haben, nach Babel gebracht werden wird; nichts wird übrig gelassen werden, spricht Jahwe.
18 And of thy sonnes, that shall proceede out of thee, and which thou shalt beget, shall they take away, and they shalbe eunuches in the palace of the King of Babel.
Und von deinen Söhnen, die von dir abstammen werden, die du erzeugen wirst, wird man welche nehmen, daß sie im Palaste des Königs von Babel als Kämmerer dienen.
19 Then Hezekiah said vnto Isaiah, The word of the Lord which thou hast spoken, is good: for saide he, Shall it not be good, if peace and trueth be in my dayes?
Hiskia aber sprach zu Jesaja: Das Wort Jahwes, das du geredet hast ist gütig! Denn er dachte: Es wird ja doch Wohlfahrt und beständiges Wesen herrschen, solange ich lebe!
20 Concerning the rest of the actes of Hezekiah, and all his valiant deedes, and howe he made a poole and a cundite, and brought water into the citie, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Was aber sonst noch von Hiskia zu sagen ist und alle seine tapferen Thaten und wie er den Teich und die Wasserleitung hergestellt und das Wasser in die Stadt geleitet hat, das ist ja aufgezeichnet im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Juda.
21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his sonne reigned in his steade.
Und Hiskia legte sich zu seinen Vätern und sein Sohn Manasse ward König an seiner Statt.
