2 Kings 19
1 And when King Hezekiah heard it, he rent his clothes and put on sackecloth, and came into the house of the Lord,
எசேக்கியா அரசன் இதைக் கேட்டபோது, தனது உடையைக் கிழித்து, துக்கவுடை உடுத்தி, யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்திற்குச் சென்றான்.
2 And sent Eliakim which was the stewarde of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and the Elders of the Priestes clothed in sackecloth to Isaiah the Prophet the sonne of Amoz.
அவன் அரண்மனை நிர்வாகியான எலியாக்கீமையும், செயலாளராகிய செப்னாவையும், பிரதம ஆசாரியர்களையும், துக்கவுடை உடுத்தியவர்களாக ஆமோஸின் மகனான இறைவாக்கினன் ஏசாயாவிடம் அனுப்பினான்.
3 And they said vnto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of tribulation and of rebuke, and blasphemie: for the childre are come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring foorth.
அவர்கள் அவனிடம், “எசேக்கியா அரசன் கூறுவது இதுவே: இன்றைய நாள் துயரமும், கண்டனமும், அவமானமும் நிறைந்த நாளாய் இருக்கிறது. பிரசவ வேளையில் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றெடுக்கப் பெலனில்லாதவர்களைப்போல நாங்கள் இருக்கிறோம்.
4 If so be the Lord thy God hath heard all the wordes of Rabshakeh, whome the King of Asshur his master hath sent to raile on the liuing God, and to reproch him with wordes which the Lord thy God hath heard, then lift thou vp thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
உயிருள்ள இறைவனை நிந்திக்கும்படி, அசீரிய அரசன் அனுப்பிய படைத்தளபதி ரப்சாக்கேயின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம், உமது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா கேட்டிருக்கக்கூடும். அதனால் உமது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா, தான் கேட்ட வார்த்தைகளுக்காக அவனைத் தண்டிக்கவும் கூடும். ஆகவே நீர் இன்னும் மீதமிருக்கும் மக்களுக்காக வேண்டுதல் செய்யும்” என்றார்கள்.
5 So the seruants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
எசேக்கியா அரசனின் அதிகாரிகள் ஏசாயாவிடம் வந்தபோது,
6 And Isaiah said vnto them, So shall ye say to your master, Thus sayeth the Lord, Be not afraide of the words which thou hast heard, wherewith the seruants of the king of Asshur haue blasphemed me.
ஏசாயா அவர்களிடம், “உங்கள் அரசனிடம் போய், ‘அசீரிய அரசனின் வேலைக்காரர் என்னைத் தூஷித்துப் பேசிய வார்த்தைகளை நீங்கள் கேட்டீர்கள்; அவைகளுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்.
7 Beholde, I will sende a blast vpon him, and he shall heare a noyse, and returne to his owne lande: and I will cause him to fall by the sworde in his owne lande.
இதோ, அவன் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட செய்தியைக் கேட்டவுடன் தன் சொந்த நாட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப் போகக்கூடிய ஒரு ஆவியை நான் அவனுக்குள் அனுப்புவேன். அவனுடைய சொந்த நாட்டிலேயே அவனை நான் வாளால் வீழ்த்துவேன்’ என்று யெகோவா கூறுகிறார்” என்றான்.
8 So Rabshakeh returned, and founde the King of Asshur fighting against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
அசீரிய அரசன் லாகீசிலிருந்து வெளியேறி விட்டான் என்று அந்தப் படைத்தளபதி ரப்சாக்கே கேள்விப்பட்டான். உடனே அவன் அங்கிருந்துபோய், அசீரிய அரசன் லிப்னாவுக்கு விரோதமாய் யுத்தம் செய்வதைக் கண்டான்.
9 He heard also men say of Tirhakah King of Ethiopia, Beholde, he is come out to fight against thee: he therefore departed and sent other messengers vnto Hezekiah, saying,
அவ்வேளையில் எத்தியோப்பிய அரசனான திராக்கா, தன்னை எதிர்த்து யுத்தம் செய்ய வருகிறான் என்று அசீரிய அரசன் சனகெரிப் கேள்விப்பட்டான். எனவே திரும்பவும் எசேக்கியாவிடம் இந்தச் செய்தியுடன் தூதுவரை அனுப்பினான்:
10 Thus shall ye speake to Hezekiah King of Iudah, and say, Let not thy God deceiue thee in whome thou trustest, saying, Ierusalem shall not be deliuered into the hande of the King of Asshur.
“யூதாவின் அரசனான எசேக்கியாவுக்கு நீங்கள் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது, ‘எருசலேம் அசீரிய அரசன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படாது’ என்று, நீ நம்பியிருக்கிற உன் இறைவன் சொல்லும்போது, அதைக்கேட்டு நீ ஏமாறாதே.
11 Beholde, thou hast heard what the Kings of Asshur haue done to all landes, how they haue destroyed them: and shalt thou be deliuered?
அசீரிய அரசர்கள் எல்லா நாடுகளையும் முழுவதும் அழித்து அவற்றிற்குச் செய்ததை நீ நிச்சயம் கேள்விப்பட்டிருப்பாய். அப்படியிருக்க நீ எப்படித் தப்புவாய்?
12 Haue the gods of the heathen deliuered them which my fathers haue destroyed? as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden, which were in Thelasar?
என்னுடைய முற்பிதாக்களால் அழிக்கப்பட்ட நாட்டின் தெய்வங்களான கோசான், ஆரான், ரேசேப் ஆகிய தெய்வங்களால் அவர்களை விடுவிக்க முடிந்ததா? மற்றும் தெலாசாரிலிருந்த ஏதேனின் மக்களையும் அவை விடுவித்தனவா?
13 Where is the King of Hamath, and the King of Arpad, and the King of the citie of Shepharuaim, Hena and Iuah?
ஆமாத்தின் அரசன் எங்கே? அர்பாத்தின் அரசன் எங்கே? செப்பர்வாயீம், ஏனா, இவ்வா ஆகிய பட்டணங்களின் அரசர்கள் எங்கே? சொல்லுங்கள்.”
14 So Hezekiah receiued the letter of the hande of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went vp into the house of the Lord, and Hezekiah spread it before the Lord.
எசேக்கியா கடிதத்தைத் தூதுவர்களிடமிருந்து வாங்கி அதை வாசித்தான். பின்பு அவன் யெகோவாவினுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப்போய் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக அதை விரித்தான்.
15 And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and saide, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest betweene the Cherubims, thou art very God alone ouer all the kingdomes of the earth: thou hast made the heauen and the earth.
எசேக்கியா யெகோவாவிடம், “இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவே, கேருபீன்களின் நடுவில் அரியணையில் அமர்ந்திருப்பவரே, பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா அரசுகளுக்கும் மேலாக நீர் மாத்திரமே இறைவனாயிருக்கிறீர். வானத்தையும், பூமியையும் படைத்தவரும் நீரே.
16 Lord, bow downe thine eare, and heare: Lord open thine eyes and behold, and heare the wordes of Saneherib, who hath sent to blaspheme the liuing God.
யெகோவாவே, உம்முடைய செவியைச் சாய்த்துக்கேளும். யெகோவாவே, உம்முடைய கண்களைத் திறந்து பாரும். உயிரோடிருக்கும் இறைவனை நிந்திப்பதற்கு சனகெரிப் அனுப்பியுள்ள வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளும்.
17 Trueth it is, Lord, that the Kings of Asshur haue destroyed the nations and their landes,
“யெகோவாவே, அசீரிய அரசர்கள் இந்த நாடுகளையும், அவர்களுடைய நிலங்களையும் பாழாக்கியிருப்பது உண்மைதான்.
18 And haue set fire on their gods: for they were no gods, but the worke of mans hands, euen wood and stone: therefore they destroyed them.
அவர்கள் அவர்களுடைய தெய்வங்களையுங்கூட நெருப்பில்போட்டு அழித்துவிட்டார்கள். ஏனெனில் அவை மனிதரின் கைகளினால் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட மரமும், கல்லுமேயல்லாமல் தெய்வங்களல்ல.
19 Nowe therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, saue thou vs out of his hande, that all the kingdomes of the earth may knowe, that thou, O Lord, art onely God.
இப்போதும் எங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவே, நீர் மாத்திரமே இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா என்று பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா அரசுகளும் அறியும்படி அவனுடைய கையிலிருந்து எங்களை விடுவியும்” என்று மன்றாடினான்.
20 Then Isaiah the sonne of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I haue heard that which thou hast prayed me, concerning Saneherib King of Asshur.
பின்பு ஆமோஸின் மகனான ஏசாயா எசேக்கியாவுக்கு அனுப்பிய செய்தியாவது: “இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: அசீரிய அரசனான சனகெரிப்பைக் குறித்து நீ செய்த மன்றாட்டைக் கேட்டிருக்கிறேன்.
21 This is the worde that the Lord hath spoken against him, O Virgine, daughter of Zion, he hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorne: O daughter of Ierusalem, he hath shaken his head at thee.
ஆனபடியால் அவனுக்கெதிராக யெகோவா உரைத்த வார்த்தை இதுவே: “‘சீயோனின் கன்னிப்பெண் உன்னை இகழ்ந்து கேலி செய்கிறாள். எருசலேமின் மகள் நீ பயந்து ஓடுவதைப் பார்த்து, உன் பின்னால் நின்று ஏளனத்துடன் தலையை அசைக்கிறாள்.
22 Whome hast thou railed on? and whome hast thou blasphemed? and against whome hast thou exalted thy voyce, and lifted vp thine eyes on hie? euen against the Holie one of Israel.
நீ யாரை நிந்தித்துத் தூஷித்தாய்? யாருக்கு விரோதமாய் சத்தமாய்ப் பேசி, அகங்காரக் கண்களினால் நோக்கினாய்? இஸ்ரயேலின் பரிசுத்தருக்கு எதிராக அல்லவா?
23 By thy messengers thou hast rayled on the Lord, and said, By the multitude of my charets I am come vp to the toppe of the mountaines, by the sides of Lebanon, and will cut downe the hie cedars thereof, and the faire firre trees thereof, and I will goe into the lodging of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
உனது தூதுவர்கள் மூலம் நீ ஆண்டவரை நிந்தித்துச் சொன்னதாவது: “நான் அநேக தேர்களுடன் மலையுச்சிகளுக்கும் லெபனோனின் சிகரங்களுக்கும் ஏறினேன். அங்குள்ள மிக உயர்ந்த கேதுரு மரங்களையும் மிகச்சிறந்த தேவதாரு மரங்களையும் வெட்டி வீழ்த்தினேன். அதன் உயர்ந்த கடைசி எல்லைக்கும், அதன் அடர்த்தியான காட்டுப் பகுதிக்கும் போனேன்.
24 I haue digged, and drunke the waters of others, and with the plant of my feete haue I dried all the floods closed in.
அந்நிய நிலங்களில் கிணறுகள் வெட்டி, அதிலே தண்ணீர் குடித்தேன். என் உள்ளங்கால்களினால் எகிப்தின் நீரோடைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் வற்றப்பண்ணினேன்.”
25 Hast thou not heard, howe I haue of olde time made it, and haue formed it long ago? and should I nowe bring it, that it should be destroyed, and laid on ruinous heapes, as cities defensed?
“‘வெகுகாலத்துக்கு முன்னமே நான் அதைத் திட்டமிட்டேன் என்பதை நீ கேள்விப்படவில்லையா? பூர்வ நாட்களில் நான் அதைத் திட்டமிட்டேன். இப்பொழுது அவற்றை நடைபெறச் செய்திருக்கிறேன். அதனால் நீ அரணான பட்டணங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் கற்குவியலாக மாற்றினாய்.
26 Whose inhabitants haue small power, and are afraid, and confounded: they are like the grasse of the field, and greene herbe, or grasse on ye house toppes, or as corne blasted before it be growen.
அவற்றின் மக்கள் வலிமை இழந்து, சோர்வுற்று வெட்கத்திற்குள்ளானார்கள். அவர்கள் வயலின் செடிகளைப்போலவும், இளம் கதிர்களைப்போலவும், கூரையில் முளைத்து வளரும் முன்பே பொசுக்கப்பட்டுப் போகும் புல்லைப்போலவும் இருக்கிறார்கள்.
27 I knowe thy dwelling, yea, thy going out, and thy comming in, and thy furie against me.
“‘ஆனால் நீ எங்கே தங்கியிருக்கிறாய், எப்போது வருகிறாய், போகிறாய் என்பதும், நீ எனக்கு எதிராகக் கோபங்கொண்டிருக்கிறாய் என்பதும் எனக்குத் தெரியும்.
28 And because thou ragest against me, and thy tumult is come vp to mine eares, I will put mine hooke in thy nostrels, and my bridle in thy lippes, and will bring thee backe againe the same way thou camest.
எனக்கு எதிராகக் கோபங்கொண்டு, எனக்குக் காட்டும் அவமதிப்பும் என் காதுகளுக்கு எட்டியது. ஆகையால் என்னுடைய கொக்கியை உன் மூக்கிலும், என் கடிவாளத்தை உன் வாயிலும் போட்டு, நீ வந்த வழியாய் உன்னைத் திரும்பச்செய்வேன்.’
29 And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, O Hezekiah, Thou shalt eate this yeere such things as growe of them selues, and the next yeere such as growe without sowing, and the third yeere sowe ye and reape, and plant vineyardes, and eate the fruites thereof.
“எசேக்கியாவே, இதுவே உனக்கு அடையாளமாய் இருக்கும்: “இந்த வருடம் தானாக விளைகிறதை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடுவீர்கள். இரண்டாம் வருடத்தில் அதன் விதையிலிருந்து முளைப்பதைச் சாப்பிடுவீர்கள். மூன்றாம் வருடத்தில் நீங்களாக விதைத்து, அறுத்து, திராட்சைத் தோட்டங்களை நாட்டி அவைகளின் பழங்களைச் சாப்பிடுவீர்கள்.
30 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Iudah, shall againe take roote downewarde, and beare fruite vpwarde.
யூதாவின் வம்சத்தில் தப்பி மீதியாயிருப்பவர்கள் மீண்டும் கீழே வேரூன்றி மேலே கனி கொடுப்பார்கள்.
31 For out of Ierusalem shall goe a remnant, and some that shall escape out of mount Zion: the zeale of the Lord of hostes shall doe this.
ஏனெனில் எருசலேமிலிருந்து மீதியானவர்களும், சீயோன் மலையிலிருந்து தப்பிப் பிழைத்தவர்களின் கூட்டத்தாரும் வருவார்கள். சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவின் வைராக்கியமே இதை நிறைவேற்றும்.
32 Wherefore thus saith the Lord, concerning the King of Asshur, He shall not enter into this citie, nor shoote an arrowe there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a mount against it:
“ஆகையால், அசீரிய அரசனைப் பற்றி யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: “‘அவன் இந்தப் பட்டணத்திற்குள் செல்வதில்லை, இதின்மேல் அம்பை எய்வதுமில்லை. அவன் தனது கேடகத்தைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு அதற்குமுன் வருவதுமில்லை, அல்லது அதற்கு விரோதமாக முற்றுகைத்தளம் அமைப்பதுமில்லை.
33 But he shall returne the way he came, and shall not come into this citie, saith the Lord.
அவன் வந்த வழியாகவே திரும்புவான்; இந்தப் பட்டணத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கமாட்டான் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார்.
34 For I will defende this citie to saue it for mine owne sake, and for Dauid my seruants sake.
என் நிமித்தமும், என் அடியவன் தாவீதின் நிமித்தமும் நான் இந்தப் பட்டணத்தைப் பாதுகாத்துக் காப்பாற்றுவேன்.’”
35 And the same night the Angell of the Lord went out and smote in the campe of Asshur an hundreth foure score and fiue thousande: so when they rose earely in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
அந்த இரவே யெகோவாவின் தூதன் வெளியே போய், அசீரியாவின் முகாமிலிருந்த இலட்சத்து எண்பத்தையாயிரம்பேரைக் கொன்றான். மக்கள் அதிகாலையில் எழும்பிப் பார்த்தபோது, வீரர்கள் எல்லோரும் அங்கே பிணமாகக் கிடக்கக் கண்டார்கள்.
36 So Saneherib King of Asshur departed, and went his way, and returned, and dwelt in Nineueh.
எனவே அசீரிய அரசனான சனகெரிப் முகாமை அகற்றி, அங்கிருந்து நினிவேக்குத் திரும்பிப்போய் அங்கே தங்கினான்.
37 And as he was in the Temple worshipping Nisroch his god, Adramelech and Sharezer his sonnes slewe him with the sworde: and they escaped into the land of Ararat, and Esarhaddon his sonne reigned in his steade.
ஒரு நாள், அவன் தனது தெய்வமான நிஸ்ரோக்கின் கோயிலில் வணங்கும்போது, அவனுடைய மகன்களான அத்ரமேலேக்கும், சரெத்செரும் அவனை வாளினால் கொலைசெய்துவிட்டு, அரராத் நாட்டிற்குத் தப்பியோடினார்கள். அவனுடைய மகன் எசரத்தோன் அவனுக்குப்பின் அரசனானான்.
