2 Kings 19
1 And when King Hezekiah heard it, he rent his clothes and put on sackecloth, and came into the house of the Lord,
Da der König Hiskia das hörete, zerriß er seine Kleider und legte einen Sack an und ging in das Haus des HERRN.
2 And sent Eliakim which was the stewarde of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and the Elders of the Priestes clothed in sackecloth to Isaiah the Prophet the sonne of Amoz.
Und sandte Eliakim, den Hofmeister, und Sebena, den Schreiber, samt den ältesten Priestern, mit Säcken angetan, zu dem Propheten Jesaja, dem Sohn Amoz.
3 And they said vnto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of tribulation and of rebuke, and blasphemie: for the childre are come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring foorth.
Und sie sprachen zu ihm: So sagt Hiskia: Das ist ein Tag der Not und Scheltens und Lästerns; die Kinder sind kommen an die Geburt, und ist keine Kraft da zu gebären.
4 If so be the Lord thy God hath heard all the wordes of Rabshakeh, whome the King of Asshur his master hath sent to raile on the liuing God, and to reproch him with wordes which the Lord thy God hath heard, then lift thou vp thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
Ob vielleicht der HERR, dein Gott, hören wollte alle Worte des Erzschenken, den sein HERR, der König von Assyrien, gesandt hat, Hohn zu sprechen dem lebendigen Gott und zu schelten mit Worten, die der HERR, dein Gott, gehöret hat. So hebe dein Gebet auf für die übrigen, die noch vorhanden sind.
5 So the seruants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
Und da die Knechte des Königs Hiskia zu Jesaja kamen,
6 And Isaiah said vnto them, So shall ye say to your master, Thus sayeth the Lord, Be not afraide of the words which thou hast heard, wherewith the seruants of the king of Asshur haue blasphemed me.
sprach Jesaja zu ihnen: So saget eurem HERRN: So spricht der HERR: Fürchte dich nicht vor den Worten, die du gehöret hast, damit mich die Knaben des Königs von Assyrien gelästert haben.
7 Beholde, I will sende a blast vpon him, and he shall heare a noyse, and returne to his owne lande: and I will cause him to fall by the sworde in his owne lande.
Siehe, ich will ihm einen Geist geben, daß er ein Gerücht hören wird und wieder in sein Land ziehen; und will ihn durchs Schwert fällen in seinem Lande.
8 So Rabshakeh returned, and founde the King of Asshur fighting against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
Und da der Erzschenke wiederkam, fand er den König von Assyrien streiten wider Libna; denn er hatte gehöret, daß er von Lachis gezogen war.
9 He heard also men say of Tirhakah King of Ethiopia, Beholde, he is come out to fight against thee: he therefore departed and sent other messengers vnto Hezekiah, saying,
Und da er hörete von Thirhaka, dem Könige der Mohren: Siehe, er ist ausgezogen, mit dir zu streiten, wandte er um und sandte Boten zu Hiskia und ließ ihm sagen:
10 Thus shall ye speake to Hezekiah King of Iudah, and say, Let not thy God deceiue thee in whome thou trustest, saying, Ierusalem shall not be deliuered into the hande of the King of Asshur.
So saget Hiskia, dem Könige Judas: Laß dich deinen Gott nicht aufsetzen, auf den du dich verlässest, und sprichst: Jerusalem wird nicht in die Hände des Königs von Assyrien gegeben werden.
11 Beholde, thou hast heard what the Kings of Asshur haue done to all landes, how they haue destroyed them: and shalt thou be deliuered?
Siehe, du hast gehöret, was die Könige von Assyrien getan haben allen Landen und sie verbannet; und du solltest errettet werden?
12 Haue the gods of the heathen deliuered them which my fathers haue destroyed? as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden, which were in Thelasar?
Haben der Heiden Götter auch sie errettet, welche meine Väter haben verderbet: Gosan, Haran, Rezeph und die Kinder Edens, die zu Thelassar waren?
13 Where is the King of Hamath, and the King of Arpad, and the King of the citie of Shepharuaim, Hena and Iuah?
Wo ist der König zu Hemath, der König zu Arphad und der König der Stadt Sepharvaim, Hena und Iwa?
14 So Hezekiah receiued the letter of the hande of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went vp into the house of the Lord, and Hezekiah spread it before the Lord.
Und da Hiskia die Briefe von den Boten empfangen und gelesen hatte, ging er hinauf zum Hause des HERRN und breitete sie aus vor dem HERRN.
15 And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and saide, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest betweene the Cherubims, thou art very God alone ouer all the kingdomes of the earth: thou hast made the heauen and the earth.
Und betete vor dem HERRN und sprach: HERR, Gott Israels, der du über Cherubim sitzest, du bist allein Gott unter allen Königreichen auf Erden, du hast Himmel und Erde gemacht.
16 Lord, bow downe thine eare, and heare: Lord open thine eyes and behold, and heare the wordes of Saneherib, who hath sent to blaspheme the liuing God.
HERR, neige deine Ohren und höre, tu deine Augen auf und siehe, und höre die Worte Sanheribs, der hergesandt hat, Hohn zu sprechen dem lebendigen Gott.
17 Trueth it is, Lord, that the Kings of Asshur haue destroyed the nations and their landes,
Es ist wahr, HERR, die Könige von Assyrien haben die Heiden mit dem Schwert umgebracht und ihr Land
18 And haue set fire on their gods: for they were no gods, but the worke of mans hands, euen wood and stone: therefore they destroyed them.
und haben ihre Götter ins Feuer geworfen. Denn es waren nicht Götter, sondern Menschenhände Werk, Holz und Steine; darum haben sie sie umgebracht.
19 Nowe therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, saue thou vs out of his hande, that all the kingdomes of the earth may knowe, that thou, O Lord, art onely God.
Nun aber, HERR, unser Gott, hilf uns aus seiner Hand, auf daß alle Königreiche auf Erden erkennen, daß du, HERR, allein Gott bist.
20 Then Isaiah the sonne of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I haue heard that which thou hast prayed me, concerning Saneherib King of Asshur.
Da sandte Jesaja, der Sohn Amoz, zu Hiskia und ließ ihm sagen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Was du zu mir gebetet hast um Sanherib, den König von Assyrien, das habe ich gehöret.
21 This is the worde that the Lord hath spoken against him, O Virgine, daughter of Zion, he hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorne: O daughter of Ierusalem, he hath shaken his head at thee.
Das ist's, das der HERR wider ihn geredet hat: Die Jungfrau, die Tochter Zion, verachtet dich und spottet dein; die Tochter Jerusalem schüttelt ihr Haupt dir nach.
22 Whome hast thou railed on? and whome hast thou blasphemed? and against whome hast thou exalted thy voyce, and lifted vp thine eyes on hie? euen against the Holie one of Israel.
Wen hast du gehöhnet und gelästert? Über wen hast du deine Stimme erhoben? Du hast deine Augen erhoben wider den Heiligen in Israel.
23 By thy messengers thou hast rayled on the Lord, and said, By the multitude of my charets I am come vp to the toppe of the mountaines, by the sides of Lebanon, and will cut downe the hie cedars thereof, and the faire firre trees thereof, and I will goe into the lodging of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
Du hast den HERRN durch deine Boten gehöhnet und gesagt: Ich bin durch die Menge meiner Wagen auf die Höhe der Berge gestiegen, auf den Seiten des Libanon; ich habe seine hohen Zedern und auserlesenen Tannen abgehauen und bin kommen an die äußerste Herberge des Waldes seines Karmels;
24 I haue digged, and drunke the waters of others, and with the plant of my feete haue I dried all the floods closed in.
ich habe gegraben und ausgetrunken die fremden Wasser und habe vertrocknet mit meinen Fußsohlen die Seen.
25 Hast thou not heard, howe I haue of olde time made it, and haue formed it long ago? and should I nowe bring it, that it should be destroyed, and laid on ruinous heapes, as cities defensed?
Hast du aber nicht gehöret, daß ich solches lange zuvor getan habe, und von Anfang habe ich's bereitet? Nun, jetzt aber habe ich's kommen lassen, daß feste Städte würden fallen in einen wüsten Steinhaufen,
26 Whose inhabitants haue small power, and are afraid, and confounded: they are like the grasse of the field, and greene herbe, or grasse on ye house toppes, or as corne blasted before it be growen.
und die drinnen wohnen, matt werden und sich fürchten und schämen müßten und werden wie das Gras auf dem Felde und wie das grüne Kraut zum Heu auf den Dächern, das verdorret, ehe denn es reif wird.
27 I knowe thy dwelling, yea, thy going out, and thy comming in, and thy furie against me.
Ich weiß dein Wohnen, dein Aus- und Einziehen, und daß du tobest wider mich.
28 And because thou ragest against me, and thy tumult is come vp to mine eares, I will put mine hooke in thy nostrels, and my bridle in thy lippes, and will bring thee backe againe the same way thou camest.
Weil du denn wider mich tobest, und dein Übermut vor meine Ohren heraufkommen ist, so will ich dir einen Ring an deine Nase legen und ein Gebiß in dein Maul und will dich den Weg wiederum führen, da du herkommen bist.
29 And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, O Hezekiah, Thou shalt eate this yeere such things as growe of them selues, and the next yeere such as growe without sowing, and the third yeere sowe ye and reape, and plant vineyardes, and eate the fruites thereof.
Und sei dir ein Zeichen: In diesem Jahr iß, was zertreten ist; im andern Jahr, was selber wächst; im dritten Jahr säet und erntet und pflanzet Weinberge und esset ihre Früchte.
30 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Iudah, shall againe take roote downewarde, and beare fruite vpwarde.
Und die Tochter Juda, die errettet und überblieben ist, wird fürder unter sich wurzeln und über sich Frucht tragen.
31 For out of Ierusalem shall goe a remnant, and some that shall escape out of mount Zion: the zeale of the Lord of hostes shall doe this.
Denn von Jerusalem werden ausgehen, die überblieben sind, und die Erretteten vom Berge Zion. Der Eifer des HERRN Zebaoth wird solches tun.
32 Wherefore thus saith the Lord, concerning the King of Asshur, He shall not enter into this citie, nor shoote an arrowe there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a mount against it:
Darum spricht der HERR vom Könige zu Assyrien also: Er soll nicht in diese Stadt kommen und keinen Pfeil drein schießen und kein Schild davor kommen und soll keinen Wall drum schütten,
33 But he shall returne the way he came, and shall not come into this citie, saith the Lord.
sondern er soll den Weg wiederum ziehen, den er kommen ist, und soll in diese Stadt nicht kommen; der HERR sagt es.
34 For I will defende this citie to saue it for mine owne sake, and for Dauid my seruants sake.
Und ich will diese Stadt beschirmen, daß ich ihr helfe um meinetwillen und um Davids, meines Knechts, willen.
35 And the same night the Angell of the Lord went out and smote in the campe of Asshur an hundreth foure score and fiue thousande: so when they rose earely in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
Und in derselben Nacht fuhr aus der Engel des HERRN und schlug im Lager von Assyrien hundertundfünfundachtzigtausend Mann. Und da sie sich des Morgens frühe aufmachten, siehe, da lag es alles eitel tote Leichname.
36 So Saneherib King of Asshur departed, and went his way, and returned, and dwelt in Nineueh.
Also brach Sanherib, der König von Assyrien, auf und zog weg und kehrete um; und blieb zu Ninive.
37 And as he was in the Temple worshipping Nisroch his god, Adramelech and Sharezer his sonnes slewe him with the sworde: and they escaped into the land of Ararat, and Esarhaddon his sonne reigned in his steade.
Und da er anbetete im Hause Nisrochs, seines Gottes, schlugen ihn mit dem Schwert Adramelech und Sarezer, seine Söhne; und sie entrannen ins Land Ararat. Und sein Sohn Assar-Haddon ward König an seiner Statt.
